From Ziggy:
New pool pic. Decking 75% done now. It'll be done tomorrow most likely. I'll be glad when the decking is done and cleaned up......

Cool to see it coming together. Underground propane tank... I didn't know you could do that, how big? Is that used to heat up da cuzzi?

ive never seen this before. Why? is this to avoid using gas to heat? Do you not have gas service now? There are still a few houses in North SD that use propane. Please tell me it has sand all around it, not native back fill.
I bury steel stuff all the time, pipe etc. There is a right and wrong way.

I don't have gas in havasu, so I am interested in the underground dealeo too. would be cool to do underground propane tank for the outdoor bbq and fireplace.

Looking at the pic, it appears they are filling the perimeter with sand and some is shown sitting on the top on the right.

Most homes in Havasu don't have gas. The Residential Estates near the golf course do though.

Yeah there are a few scattered streets. My old street had it but even then builders didn't use it. We bought a spec house and it was all electric. My neighbors house had gas though.

Not so bad for a vacation home and not having any California style electric bills. Cooking sucks without the visual and instant reaction to flame levels though. And I guess if you have a pool it sucks too.

Yes most of the town doesn't have gas. So we get propane tanks for our pool heaters. I'm wishing we would have buried ours now too.

Used to heat jacuzzi. Its 250 gal.
.
Set into 1 1/2 feet of sand and backfilled with sand. Hole about 6 feet deep.
Natural Gas in Havasu is spotty, not many hoods with it.

Is there any prediction of how long that will last?
Who comes out to fill it? Piped to the street or does truck run a long hose to back yard?

He told me he has pulled out 20+ yr old tank's in ground that look like new. It gets a big anode attached and placed near tank in the ground.
When you put it underground you own the tank and can use any propane service in town to fill. Above grounds are leased and you are stuck with the provider whose tank it is.
Trucks have 200foot hoses, they fill at the tank.

As they finish the plaster they roll it with a sponge roller which takes the excess damp blue color off the surface and exposes the colored and sparkly aggregate. Cool to watch.

4-5 hours later when it's dry, they come back and acid wash 50/50 muratic and water the entire plaster surface followed by powerwashing.

Something I have never noticed about this clip until today. All along we've been saying it's a Baby Ruth bar, look closer, it's a Baby Rut bar :D

Too bad there was no water in it for DS, because I know I would have been swimming after the after party. 

Oh for sure. It's definitely better that it wasn't full or there would have been bits of tritip floating in it!!! :D

Tomorrow is our day for plaster
This crew looked quite efficient, mine was the second of three pools they did that day. They got cranking around 10am. Think I saw as many as 10 guys there at one point. Crew splits off as they progress and preps the next site.
Said they come out from Victorville.

Its the same guys that will do ours. I don't think anyone local does it. They come out for a week at a time and bust out like 15 pools that the builders book them in for.
