I wanted to share some photos of the completed DCM. The boat is finished less the wiring, dash and upholstery which the customer will take care of in the near future. Hope you all like the finished product. We spent many late nights to finish it up! I'll start with the rough rigging and fab work then the completed boat.

Any details on the engine/trans. combo?

GT Performance 540 EFI Twin Turbo. On 91 octane it made 1098 and on AV/Race Gas it made 1287. Going to run it on 91. Tranny is a Turbo 400 with 1st locked out.

WOW!!!!!!!!!! That is an awesome boat!!!!

This boat is available for $135k. To duplicate would be $150+
Should run over 100mph no problem. Not sure exactly how fast, but definitely over 100.
Hull is similar, but not exact. Shallower bottom and entry than the Schiada.

Looking very good :thumbsup Are the floors in the cockpit area removable, or were they just glassed and finished in part way through the build?

Thanks everyone! I was a cool project to work with. Danny is a good guy and has been very understanding and patient throughout the entire project. Thanks to him for letting us do this for him! Let me know if any of you have any questions about any of the stuff you see on the boat or have questions about. Btw Dave, I think the water pump mount weighs more than the entire front engine mount!!! JK! Everything worked out great!
Thanks again,
Mike

The floors are removable. It gives us easy access to the hardware for service. :)

All of the hardware has been clear powder coated. The only thing clear anodized was the Cav plates. I don't like how clear ano dulls the finish. I have found that clear PC is the closest thing to a polished look out there. The benefit is that it holds up and is easy to clean in comparison to pure polished aluminum.

The boat is fully assembled and is in final form right now. All that is left is interior, some plumbing, and electrical. After that, it is time to get it wet. :)

So I take it this boat isn't spoken for yet right Danny? It came out awesome. Love the colors. Is it gonna be a full interior boat or just 2 buckets up front?

4 buckets total. Replaced the rear bench seat with buckets.

This boat is looking really really nice and sounds like it will make somebody a bitchen new ride. With that said and I mean no disrespect but didn't this boat start out being rigged by somebody in Parker and then as seen here finished by Prime, my question is does DCM not do rigging, only layups and then outsources the installs. Again very nice piece, congrats on your project.

Sawtooth that's a legit question, and without stepping on Danny's toes I'll take a stab at it..

Danny (DCM) absolutely rigs boats.. Outboards, Stern Drives, Jets, generally these kind of boats you pick a motor package and pretty much bolt them together. The installations are "somewhat" standardized.

With a V-drive, you need rail kits, motor plates, and a list of other stuff as long as my arm, and just about everything is custom made one off.. I.E. You need a machine shop, and A LOT of "know how" to pull it off.

It's better to sub it to a shop that specializes in this sort've application, and in this field, Prime is one of the best of them.

Like Dave had said, this is the first one of my boats that I did not do 100% of the rigging myself. With it being a V-drive, I subbed out the machining and installation of the hardware to Prime to make sure it is correct on the first attempt. There are 100 different factors that if not perfect, the boat won't be right. I have done multiple direct drives, but never done a V-drive. So, instead of making a very costly and possibly safety mistake, I sent it to Prime.

Prime Marine hooked the boat up and I couldn't be happier with the work they did! Now that the boat is done with Prime, I am the one that will be finishing up all of the little details and doing the electrical system myself. :)

Good summary. :thumbsup Only thing that I would say is that no two boats are the same and you definitely don't "pretty much bolt them together." ;) :D

That makes good sence BadBlowen, I would agree it is better to be safe and not just through money at making it right after you did something wrong. Good luck with it, looks like it will be a fun ride.

Honest guess is between 30-60 days. The boat is having the interior done @ Prime and then I will pick it up beginning of October. After that, I will bring it back to my shop and start the electrical. Don't want to rush this things so going to take my time and do it right. :)

Guys, this looks GREAT, I am very interested in seeing how it performs. Danny did you do any mods to the bottom of this one, with the big power going in it? The colors are beautiful and as always anything done at Prime is Top Notch. Two quality companies and one very cool boat!

So far, we have not done any modifications to the bottom other than blueprint everything that came out of the mold. If it turns out that we need to, we may lenghten the internal strakes. Want to see how it does before we do any modifications. We need a baseline to compare.

It sure seems like they just "bolt together" after doing v-drives :skull comparatively speaking :D

Why would you lengthen the inside strakes? Just make the cav plates an inch longer if you need more transom lift..

I believe that would have the opposite effect. By lengthening the plates, you would actually be shortening the strakes in comparison to the running surface of the boat. I don't think that lengthening the plates would cause more transom lift. The right or wrong prop will also have alot to do with tail lift though. With that said I could be completely wrong:D.

This doesn't factor in the CG of the boat, and the fact that motor is still in the same place but the running surface is longer now. As for planing strakes i think Danny will probably find they are pretty good as they are with the bottom blueprinted. Running the strakes longer creates more lift, and at very high speeds this causes an unstable ride, and the possibility of violent chine walking, that's why most boats have the center strakes end right about where the boat is running on the top :thumbsup

Anyway can't wait to see this thing in action, with the shallower V than a schiada what it gives up in handling chop it should make up in top speed stability, Like the Brummett 21's.

Two more weeks right Danny? :skull
