Not in the modern era. They are heat cycled and broken in at Mercury. We warm them up then run them hard right out of the crates.

Yes, the Hansen's built the first 37 and now first 42. They believe in the product and are all in. This 42 is unreal and can't wait to get people in this thing ASAP.

Damn that’s moving, and it’s on a lake so no complaints about currents or tides.

What’s the fastest a M37 has ran?

M-37 with 500's has run 133 with a set of 36's and the 42 hit 132 yesterday with a set of 36's as well. We are still dialing it in and definitely going the right way. Super exciting and it is a beast. The lake was very flat and sticky as well. All of us at DCB have been on the gas and the hard work is paying off.

However, we want the boat to have the best manners from idle to top speed with a variety of weight loads in a variety of conditions.

Will testing in December vs July make a big difference in that prop selection? Weight being the same.

The 500’s are so dialed in with temp and humidity tables, along with digital boost control, that they are not dramatically effected performance wise with ambient temperature.

Short answer: no

As Teague said, they're pretty much ready to go out of the box, but in my previous life running this stuff on the dyno you'd see them have the rings fully seated and everything rock n roll after about 10 hours, and we're talking 5 HP or less.

Can't wait for you to experience it. On plane with no bowrise, staying on plane at 18 mph, 90 feels like 60, etc. Very graceful, does not hint at being a large boat except in waves. We haven't had it in huge water yet but we're definitely looking forward to it! Takes normal lake whitecaps like they're not there.
