When do the 450's come out? ;)
2 weeks :D
Grey Gooses f-29 with 300's ran low to mid 90's if I remember right? So if they are predicting 105-115 then there's a pretty big gap there on the performance side. Granted I'm sure his boat is heavier then this one.
Kill'rs 26 ran 120 with twin 300s...didn't it :rolleyes
Whoever is getting that boat is one lucky dude!:p
I bet it's not his first DCB  May have even had one that was on a regatta shirt.

This boat will be amazing that's for sure! Congrats to the new owner!

DCB is still finishing up a few details so the boat hasn't been outside yet to take good pics but I got these this Mornjbg from Tony!

I really like the color combos on this boat.

I like the colors too but the first time a buttcheek hits black on accident it will sure get your attention.

There's no black on the interior, and up on the front where you'd sit to dock it, it looks far enough away..

Sometimes looks have to outweigh functionality to achieve cool... :D This is one of those cases. :D

Are the new 400's basically a tuned up 300?

If the weights are the same should be a interesting combo if the last m29 with 300's ran 95 mph.

Anyone know the price jump from the 300-400?

No you can tune the 300 to 350 This is a new Monster

Curious if these motors have a built-in break-in period. I know they are 4 strokes, but if I dropped that kind of coin, I'd want to make sure everything was done just right (which I am sure DCB is doing).

No break in on the 350's Fucking WOT:thumbup:

Sounds like you have your facts right;). Except the 450 is 3 weeks out:thumbup:

Totally agree - too many people complain about black being hot. When it's it's 120 out anything is hot! It's not that big of a deal.

Any idea what they have done with the space that typically holds the engine? Is it just storage? I would love to use that space to move the seating back or create a wrap around lounge. I know that may not fit with the performance profile of this boat - but when hitting a cove it sure would be nice!

When building my Ultra, Jason told me dark RED has a hotter heat index then black.

I think the biggest advantage these R400's will have is more torque over the two strokes.

I'm curious as to how hard they can be run compared to a two stroke. Optimaxes routinely run at the 5-6k rpm range for extended periods. Will the 400s be able to run the same?

They are overpriced and maybe are too heavy, but a pair of the Seven Marine 557's would be a sweet and potent setup...

The Merc is Overpriced ? I was reading up on the 557 marine engines. They start at $69,000.00 each. Roughly twice the price of one of these new 400's. That really takes the initial attraction of outboards away. I've always seen outboards as a INEXPENSE alternative to inboard power. Your getting into TCM blower motor pricing for a clamp on with the 557's.
Bad arse for sure. But all the $$ as well. Think we will see a new M29 with 557's someday. Somebody is going to do it I'm sure. If you have the wallet.... Why not ? :)

I guess my question is more along the lines of do you drive it like a 2 stroke where you push the sticks all the way forward and leave them there for a while? Or will they require more frequent rebuilds if they are driven that way? Optimaxes are running 500 + hours with just plugs, water pumps, and lower unit oil changes. War Canoe and Bullhead Bully are great examples. Both those guys run hard for over 100 miles in a day.

I don't mean to sound negative. I think these motors are badass and I'd love a dcb with two 400s.

These motors should run 1000 hours plus without touching them if taken care of. I have 1000 hours on my 300s and still have perfect compression. I know it's apples to oranges but the other verados are getting those hours easily.

Did you have to rebuild at 600 hrs or replace that engine? I ask bc that's what I have, 170 hrs on them now.

91 octane with aces octane booster, premium plus quicksilver. Use to run 91 with some AV until I found this booster. Been told it can go 500 more . The key is good fuel with the outboards. U get one bad batch its all over. I feel very safe running the aces booster its what some of the top outboad guys use. Expensive but well worth it

No. It's been running great only issue it's had was the compressor took a shit last summer. Joe at hotlaps marine in havasu replaced it and it's been doing great since.

I make sure it's run once a month. Always hook it up to the hose before and after running it. I don't start it on the hose just use the flush hookup just below the cowling. The reason I do it on the hose prior to taking it on the lake is so I can get the whole water cooling system wet prior to starting. I know it's probably overkill but I like to know the water pump isn't spinning for a few seconds dry.

Do you mix the octane booster in jerry cans with fuel or do you just pour it in on top
Of the gas.

Add it on top, i have a good 10 minute drive to launch with it sloshing around.

They just moved into the LA Boat show yesterday, so I don't think they had time to run it before hand.

I agree, heard they didn't have time to get her on the water yet. Can't wait to see what those supercharged inline 6's can do.
