Mayor Pothole Pete was the master of political non answers. Hot air bullshit responses that say nothing.
That was his qualification.

If he wasn’t gay he’d never have been appointed.
Not to mention how long it took breastfeeding pothole Pete to even visit East Palestine Ohio after the toxic train spill...

Exactly....needed to be a bit more specific, if not the first time...most certainly the second time.
On initial contact with PAT25, the DCA Tower Controller stated, "Pat 25, traffic south of the Woodrow Bridge, its a CRJ 1200 feet setting up for runway 33." PAT 25 replied, "PAT 25 has traffic in sight, request visual separation", which the DCA Tower Controller approved. If a pilot calls traffic in sight, they better be absolutely, positively, F-ing sure, they're looking at the correct target. I won't call traffic in-sight, particularly at night, unless the other pilot concurs and it is verifiable on the Nav Display TCAS/ADSB.
As previously discussed, TCAS Resolution Advisories are inhibited below 1000' AGL and aural TCAS Traffic Advisories are inhibited below 500' AGL. The RJ crew should've received a visual TCAS Traffic Advisory on the Nav display, but probably never saw it as they were properly focused on the landing environment. The RJ crew never received a traffic advisory from ATC, which IMHO, is inexcusable, but understandable given the controller's workload.

When I worked marine salvage I had more than one investigator tell me I don't go looking for a smoking gun, it's 10 small things that contribute enough to become a major problem.

Remember the LA dock drama?
Pot hole Pete’s first act in office:
“I locked my front door and shut out the world for 90 days.”

Instead of telling shippers to follow the rules and pick up their containers freeing dock unloading space, he waved a Govt check in front of any camera he could find.

The Blackhawk on Route 4, shouldve been hugging the eastern shore of the Potomac at or below 200' AGL. An aircraft on approach to RWY 33 would cross the shoreline at 300' ish. I worked with Blackhawks in Mogadishu and have lots of respect for those guys.

Lol wow I didn't see that. Clearly you didnt read my previous point.

Im saying neither is duffy. Thus we assume one is dei. Just because hes gay..

Maybe duffy kissed djt ass to get the job ans maybe pete sucked Joe off to get it.

Seeing as how NEITHER is qualified. But I'll reiterate my point from my previous point. It does no one any favors. Because look at 3 posts ASSUMING that's why he got the job. Not 1 ASSUMEs anything about duffy.

Yes ty I get that's your point. Same point. Different perspective.

As I used previously. Supreme court justice was appointed. Joe says he's appojting the first black female. Discredit all her work. You may not agree with her, but shes certainly qualified. But because Joe said that, everyone assumes what? She wasn't appointed for her qualifications. Right wrong doesn't matter. It what everyone thinks now.

He was hired because he was a faggot. It is a priority of the D party.

US army refuses to name female pilot killed in helicopter crash with passenger jet

The female pilot killed in the helicopter collision with a passenger jet in Washington DC will not be named, the US army said.
It made the highly unusual decision at the request of the family not to release the name of one of the three soldiers killed when a military Black Hawk collided with a passenger jet on Wednesday evening.

The Army identified two of the soldiers killed as Staff Sergeant Ryan Austin O’Hara and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andrew Loyd Eaves, but did not provide details about the third, who was reported to be a female pilot with 500 hours of flying experience.

Really? The era of protecting feelings is over, name the culprit.

That's bullshit. The families of those on the plane I would think deserve to know the name of the one who fucked up and killed them.

They'll get it, there is no way in hell President Trump will allow that.

If you’re going to hide the name why not hide all 3?

The individual stories of loss are beginning to appear in the media. Kids and parents attending a figure skating clinic in Wichita died. There were young attorneys on business and family trips returning to Washington. Elderly folks. The AA 5342 First Officer was to be married in the fall. Sixty seven stories, each representing a tragedy for their families and friends.

The number of deaths make it a news story. But we forget that traffic accidents claim about 125 lives every day in America. Other accidents and illness take lives too.

We're blessed by every day that's given to us. Tell your family you love them.

In my opinion Duffy has more experience where it counts . You can't tell me you wouldn't want Duffy instead of the B boy or can you??

While all that is valid, none of these other deaths were caused by a US Army helicopter. This is bigger than that.

I’ve been waiting out my wife’s surgeries listening to the radio talk-a-thons in the car for the past couple days.

News must be getting stale now all these “Later, smoked a Cig ” kinda people claiming they were supposed to be on the tragic flite but missed it.

Slept in, Uber never picked them up, arrived late,,

As a pilot, what's your opinion on the route near the approach to runway 33? Seems that with a 200 ceiling on the chopper, and fixed wing being at 375-425 feet, that doesn't really go along with the minimum 500ft separation if the paths intersect...which they most certainly do.

I would think that both the heli route and the fixed wing approach cannot be operational at the same time (near the point where they intersect)
It has been a safe traffic management protocol that had been working accident free for decades.

But it requires everyone to follow the protocols at all times.

If we want a completely safe air traffic system with no risk whatsoever, most people would be limited to ground transportation which is measurably less safe per mile over the last several decades than air transportation.

Pulling out worked until it didn't too....doesn't mean it was the best idea.

Doesn't civilian rules dictate 500ft minimum separation? I'm a bit rusty, it's been 30 years since I trained and flew

We do not know the facts as of yet.

But based upon reports, the clearance given and acknowledged was to pass to behind a CRJ that is moving at 140 knots in landing configuration. That clearance, if followed, would have assured appropriate separation.

Im not saying that at all. im saying i looked both up. Both politicians, pete in the navy duffy a lawyer. I mean neither that I can see has any specific qualification for the position.

What I am saying is, because of this stupid DEI we all, myself included, make certain assumptions when people get into a position we feel they are unqualified for.

I am saying if you're right leaning you will say duffy is more qualified. Not based on anything specific just because he more aligns with your philosophy. If you're left leaning you don't even consider that's Pete's gay and you assume he more qualified than duffy because he more aligns with your philosophy.

Is either qualified? Was pete a DEI deal? We will certainly find out if duffy is qualified. We can go back now and make a determination on pete based on his merit. But if neither had been appointed before on paper, neither seems to be particularly qualified.

As for pete and dei only sleep joe knows why he's there i suppose.

So to summarize, DEI has a very negative, unintended consequence. That people who oppose these hires automatically have the ability to assume they were only hired because they check boxes. That does happen and it shouldn't. But we also can't assume everyone is. TYs point was the same, that because of these programs it's automatically assumed pete is the dei hire because hes gay.

I was waiting for you. I even almost said I'm sure regor will be by soon to tell me im wrong.

You're probably right. My pojnt and I think the others point is. We will never actually know that because DEI exists. So that's the assumption right out the gate. Like I said, maybe he blew joe for the job. Plenty of people have climbed the corporate ladder sleeping their way to the top.

Ok, but my question was....given the conditions (Approach altitude 375-425 ft at the point where the approach to rwy33 intersects Route 6 for the choppers, chopper max alt of 200 ft ((I've heard from a .mil pilot buddy that there is about 100ft tolerance on altitude)...so call it 100-300ft on the chopper), that doesn't give anywhere near what I would call confortable separation. ATC obviously had the same thoughts since they got on the radio a second time.

Would you be confortable with a 100ft separation? Me, I'd preffer 1000 ft.

This whole thing has gone to be nothing more than race or DEI issues. People claim this or that, but really, it's not that complex. Someone or multiple people, messed up. It could be a DEI ATC, or one who was sleep deprived, or even on a bender, we don't know. Same with the pilot, we don't know.

The hiding of the military pilot's name is very suspect...if there is nothing to hide, then why hide it? If you release some names, release them all. Blaming the Transportation Secratary, either new guy or "chest feeder"? Nope, they weren't at the controls, someone in immediate command thought the pilots and ATC were fit for the gigs.

And the racist drivel? Hell, it was a BLACKhawk! Ain't seen a white one.

Late response...

If you go watch Blancolorio's channel, he has recordings that also capture the helo comms. The helo crew confirmed both times they had the traffic in sight. Honestly I don't know how more specific you can get with two-way radios, the controller has to trust the pilot is seeing what he says he is seeing.

As a fixed wing pilot 500 feet vertical is doable as long as everyone is following the rules.

Ride in the jump seat (it sits higher than the pilots seat) of an airliner at FL 330‘ to 390’ MSL. The separation is 500 feet (RVSM) and the oncoming traffic passing under/over can be unsettling. But, you really get a fantastic sensation of speed when the aircraft pass. Pretty cool

Private practical test standards for rotorcraft require the ability to hold altitude within 50 feet. Commercial practical test standards are 25 feet.

Yes, that route and how it is conducted is perfectly fine with me. These are not separations between two fixed wing but between a rotorcraft and a fixed wing. Crossings close to fixed wing occur literally dozens of times a day when conducting operations in crowded airspace around busy airports all over the country. Low altitude crossings of extended centerlines by rotorcraft happen every day all over.

This was a mistake. Nothing more nothing less. Humans do that a lot. It is just part of the aviation business.

I get your point but my argument one was a Senator the other a Mayor at least Duffy knows about the bullshit bureaucracy and should be able to navigate it.

Agreed with all. Nothing wrong with that route or the ATC instructions. With a max of 200’ in that area, I’d be at 100-150’ personally.

How quickly can the helo slow or stop forward speed? Would the required seperation be obtained by slowing or stopping forward speed to pass behind? Would that be where the ATC control was expecting them to insure required separation in addition to altitude?
At 100' of separation wouldn't the air vortices be very disruptive to either aircrafts stability?
