) since late 90's when he was rigging for his uncle Dennis Winzen at Carrera Boats he always had a big grin and wanted to learn as much as possible as quick as he could. He was always fun to tease with the Parker All Stars Vs D Row back and forth on the old Hot Boat days and it's nice to see some of the OG posters come in this thread to pay their respects I wish it was for better circumstances for sure....

I just say Danny at DS this year and we got to catch up on how he's been and his new career path and he seemed so exited to what the future had to offer for Erika and him. This is a loss that hits all of us and will never make sense and never do and like some have said it will be a long road for Erika to heal both physically and mentally will be the biggest hurdle for sure.

last night i didnt sleep much. all i could think about was danny and the last few times that i spent with him. every time i woke up, the first thing i thought of was danny.
i went through all the texts that he and i sent to each other. i cant even begin to fathom the thought of never speaking to him again. i cried. i dont think i could ever delete them.
like pronstar, danny and i started hanging out a couple years ago, but we clicked right away. it's a pretty easy thing to do with a person like danny. i looked up to him as many have. we shared many trips together. trips to the desert, river, san diego, and more. always good times ... always.
a while back, i told danny that the next boat i buy was going to be one that he built for me. at first i think he thought i was bullshitting him lol, but as time went on, we hung out more and talked about boating, he realized that i was serious. he was gonna build pronstar and i our next boats, but mine was gonna be a lot cooler than pronstars
McRib and i set up a meet n greet. something happened to the original location but danny graciously offered his shop to host a BBQ. it was on. we showed up just as pronstar and danny were finishing up detailing pronstars old boat. i handed danny a beer and he proceeded to show me around the shop. i had only seen pictures of it, but it was beautiful.
about an hour later, danny comes up to me and says "hank, come check out this boat i have that i am going to use for yours and pronstars next boat." we jump in the rhino and go up this little hill and at the top of it was this boat ... a cat, almost exactly what i had in mind. we sat there for a while just us two, drank our beer and talked about what we wanted to do to it. i asked him silly questions but he answered them all truthfully and told me the reason why he would change a thing or two. i am not sure if it was that moment that cemented our friendship or not, but i know for sure that it was moment that i'll never forget. this loss really hurts me.
you never know when your time is due. life is way too short to have little fights come between you and your friends. i cherish all my friends and i love to see them all.

Dave, we had a great time at CSR with him. That's what I will always remember, the laughs, the good times. He was stoked on his life and Erika. I've never seen him so happy and content.
It was an honor to know him.
