Friend had the same bike but was a Honda 4stroke nerd. We ended up fabbing engine mounts for a Honda engine. Never quite worked right, we couldn't get the front sprocket close enough to swingarm pivot, threw the chain regularly.

Got the wheels cleaned up and new tires on my Volvo project. Biggest hurdle will be to sort out the wiring. Main wire in the engine compartment were burned long time ago and the owner removed it.

Ok, so my new jeep has provided me with several hours of entertainment. Front, and rear wheel seal leaks, valve cover gasket leak, and full service work. The front differential had to come out, so I went ahead and changed axle u joints, unit bearings, new pads and rotors. Rear axle got new bearings and seals. These jeeps are so easy to work on, the only hang up was an inner race on the rear axle bearing that didn’t want to come out, so I had to weld a bead around it, and it shrunk down when it cooled, and slid right out.

Was not bad AT ALL. went by real quick. Slept about 5 hours. Watched the dune sequel. Ate. Chilled. We land in 45 minutes. Change planes and 1.5 hours to Athens. Almost done.
