Flew to Austin for the weekend just to check it out. Not my favorite place and I will try not to go back but we had fun. Took a great boat tour, ate a lot of food, and watched the nightly bat exodus which was super neat. Our hotel was across the street from the Yeti Flagship Store which opened not too long ago. Had a cool bar where we sat a few times to have drinks.
The worst drivers I have ever seen anywhere; and I lived in LA if that tells you anything. It honestly ruined some of the trip for us. Rode the B Cycle bike share bikes everywhere which was great and a cheap way to get around. Plus there is always parking when on a bike! Lucky we found some safe streets and lots of cool trails. . Definitely a lib city which I wasn't too keen on either. Everyone was trying to be different together.

100s of people waiting to see over 750,000 bats go out to get dinner. Literally 20min before sundown every night they leave the Congress bridge where they live (about 2million of them!). It's pretty cool to see. The exodus last a good 10min or so!

What looks like smoke is actually thousands of bats!

And of course lots of bike riding up and down the Colorado River.

Was 93F today, down to 82 now. Found a bull snake front of my garage door, dead. Driveway was super hot, it probably died from heat, couldn't get into the garage to cool off.

Have both outside ceiling fans on full blast but the bastards are still coming at you.

Took my neighbours out on Okanagan Lake yesterday. Started of with blue skies, 80+ temps, swimming and having picnick on the beech and on the boat. By the afternoon, we observed seven fires on the sorrounding hills. Some on the west side started by lightning during the night but on the east side of the lake, three spot fires must of been started by fucking careless campers/hikers.
It looked like D-day with so many planes and helicopters buzzing around all day. There was a squadron of five spotter planes flying over us a few times, my neighbour flashed her boobies for them and one of the planes tipped her wings for her.

The theromstat/ element caught fire. Parts are about $150, but the water heater is from 2001. Just getting replaced.
