Coeur d'alene wooden boat show. Here are some "new" wooden boats. The second & third pic, has twin Hammerheads (383?), no price, but I'm certain it's over a million, as the bottom picture is priced at 750k, has twin 420 IIRC hp big blocks.

This reminds me of a boaters version of a T bucket with the vertical steering column. It's powered by a Jag V12 with twin Carter carbs. The other pictures are of a 30s Hackercraft. That low windshield and top remind me of a Duesenberg of the same era. That picture of the "rumble seat" shows a bell, assumably to get your driver's attention without raising your voice

The resort uses them to take you to the floating tee. Not those exact one's but they have two or three that take golfers to the tee pretty cool boats.

A few more beauties. I slipped in a vintage Bell Boy fiberglass boat, as well as a '54 Beech 18 on floats.

That would be this one. Yes, they have a pair. That circular glass cockpit can't help but remind me of the "cone of silence" on the old Get Smart series

Bird's eye view from the room this morning.You see the auto bilge going on the one, it runs for about a minute, every 20 minutes or so. My Dad used to talk of poking strips of bed sheets up between the boards of the hull, and then waiting for the boards to swell. This one likely just got launched for this show.

I could live here as well. But yeah, it'd be tough to get property anywhere near the water. It's been gobbled up by people much smarter or much luckier then myself.

Check pend o orielle sbout 30 minutes north. Lesser known. Less bougey. More laid back, bigger, actually nicer and less crowded.

Spend a winter there before you feel too bad about it.

Was headed there yesterday for lunch, but the pontoon I rented liked 22 mph real well. We were only about 1/2 way there, ladies requested an "on shore restroom". My pulled in and ate at this on shore food truck, had a good menu, good vibe, real nice shaded seating by the docks. View attachment 1264169

A few years ago I took my mom and her sister snapper fishing. They asked if I had a bathroom on the boat, I told them no. So they showed up with this contraption.
To their credit, they fished as hard as they could and endured the 120mi of running in the SWFL summer heat.
