Took a stroll down the pier with Pops today and saw this Foiler.
I've seen them before, but never right next to the pier . . . and usually the dude's i've seen have a paddle and are still learning.
This guy had it down and wasn't using a paddle.

Funny thing . . . right as I was telling my Dad, "Some dudes get pissed when these guys show up in the line up, cause it can be dangerous . . . like a flying underwater knife coming right at you" . . . and sure enough right on cue one of the old dudes in the line up starts barking at him, "Get that fucking thing out of here" !!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣
The guy paddled over to him and they made nice really quick.

But it was rad to watch from above . . .

Surprised/not surprised that they wouldn’t get along. I mean there are inboard vs outboard boat threads🤷‍♂️. We watched a guy in Hawaii work the waves and then pump back. Dude never stopped. Next level workout.

Yeah . . . I think the old guy got it . . . he was just being salty.
The guy on the foil would sit inside and pick-off the left over shitty waves just to get up on the thing.
Then he'd pump off to the side and out & around everyone.
He never came in on a set that anyone was going to paddle into . . . so he knew what he was doing.
And he stayed a respectable distance away.

You're right on the workout ! . . . I was getting tired just watching/ thinking about it ! 😝

Dude doesn't want his car towed, he chased after our guys with a crowbar and then verbally threatened to shoot and kill our ground guys and as he walked by me he stopped pointed his finger at me and dropped his thumb in a threat to shoot me.

Sorry for the late start but he was trying hard to get it off the truck a min earlier, dude has been watching too many Fast and Furious movies.🤣

We've been waiting for PD for over an hour. The job is shut down for right now.

Quick cutting board resto, the board split in half and a couple of pieces were split. I used my track saw and cut out the old, but left new clean joints. Added a little of my touch and reglued it up.

After the glue dries I'll plane it, true it up, and rerouter the edges.

the word Utah was completely faded from my plate. Utah DMV wouldn't replace the plate and I want the same #...... they also won't do a personalized plate with my number. I was told get a new plate with a different number or I'll will be cited!!!!!!! I went out to the shop and found a 20-year-old bottle of my Hot Wheels paints. I think it's good enough now to fake 'em out.

Had to come up with a gasket to go between the windscreen and the gelcoat on the helm of a 23ft whaler I’m rigging.
Decided it use a piece of 3/16 vacuum hose to do it…but how to split it straight on the hose for 5 1/2 feet?
Looked around the internet for ideas and built this.
Clamp it in the vise and pull the tubing through. Came out great.

Fortunately the vacuum line had lettering running the length of it.
I positioned the blade pointing down when clamped in the vise and pulled the tubing through with the lettering facing straight up. Had to keep twisting the line to keep the letters up but it cut it perfectly.
Sometimes I get lucky😂

Mid 80’s 23 foot SilverWing.
525 blown Chevrolet.
Casale vdrive with a turbo 400.
Installation wise it came to me with the vdrive and engine installed along with propshaft rudder and plates installed.
I’ve had to build and mount everything else including steering, all of the helm, battery boxes had to be custom made, all electrical, fuel system, waterlines and exhaust, oil cooler, etc.
The tricky part of this cruiser is everything has to be contained between the stringers.
It’s been a challenge but fun.
In the home stretch now.

I’ve never liked the way the old school clamshell vents when you look into them and can see a big open hole with some flimsy plastic baffle up in there.
Decided to do something different.
Because of the design of the boat these vents just need to, well, vent.
If I needed to run hose I’d just tach a short piece of tubing on the bottom to hook a vent line to.
Never seen any like it🤷‍♂️
One of the reasons I enjoy doing this.
Always fun to create what’s in your head!
A boat is always a blank canvas!

Been a few weeks since I could fly, life in way of making it to Havi. Went up this morning just to run some oil thru her. 6500’ just cruisin, sipping morning coffee and listening to some music.
John Wayne airport in front of me, Catalina off to my right then a turn to the south down the coastline before heading east back to French Valley. 1.5 hr cruise to nowhere.

A couple hours ago. First time these kids have played under the lights

We won but the Newbury Park Steelers were no joke. This team won the American league championship last year with a new team and bumped up to National league this year and first game of the season they play the 5 time National league Champs and held their own in the first half. They are only going to get better.
