KX112 Power - Hard to keep the front end down even with holeshot device.

Second photo I though he might die - Said he went to brake tap and missed the brake pedal!

Good times!!!

Driving this D8 makes me feel like a man. Big ass loud marbles in a can sounding 20.4 liter I6 Cat power. The throttle is backwards from traditional... you let off and it goes full power.

So the "Fail Safe" in case you just jump off, suffer a heart attack or simply pass out, reverts to straight ahead, move it or lose it, full throttle kill mode ??
Sounds like a real YouTube crowd pleaser  🤣

I think so. I think it's a dangerous machine, given that could happen and other reasons. I'd prefer and myself wear some type of heart monitor device and a lanyard when operating the thing so if the operator goes tits up the machine will shut down.

Funny, flew in this things for the military and for fun more times than I can count, all over the world. Never bothered to look real close just how intricate and complicated they are.
Now I understand why my fishing buddy, who retired after a long career flying commercial airliners and Lears prior to that, wouldn't fly in a helicopter.
I'm not sure I will anymore either, thanks for sharing o_O ;)
PS: Do those cables off the tail rotor just hang out in space like that during flight ??

Those cables connected to the yellow strobe screwed into the top of the TRGB breather are for balancing the Tail Rotor and measuring vibrations. Just used on the ground.

That thing is SICK!

Buddy flies for VCSO (Huey, long ranger and Blackhawk). I always pause when I see a helicopter and think of what he told me once. Something to the effect - "there's no other machine where all the major moving parts are trying to get away from the craft".

I had a Friend who Flew different Helicopters for several Agencies, and he told me that if you ever get in and have A Second Thought of "The Machine" = Time to "Give It Up"

Just get in and Enjoy The Ride.🤔

It’s a 78 and at 43 years old it has had a productive life.

At 1520 pounds it is the lightest and fastest D model I’ve worked on. 🚁

Gnarly sunset this evening, almost missed it . . . there was light rain coming down.
Been fooling around with camera settings
Shot this in manual mode at 1/20 of a second at aperture F22 & ISO set at 400
I set manual focus set to 'infinity' cause I don't know what I'm doing in that department.
I didn't edit / crop or 'enhance' anything . . . it's straight out of the camera with no filters.
Not the greatest composition, but I thought the colors were pretty insane

One in 'Portrait' orientation.

Kicked around the idea of upgrading the side x side for awhile. Liked the build quality of the Honda and the 6 speed gear box I really liked. Jase at malcom smith beat every other dealer by a few thousand so I decided to pull the trigger.

My kid loves this thing, pulled in the driveway and first thing he did when he got out of the truck was run back to it and motion for me to put him in it.

Not stoked about toy prices right now but my kid loves the thing so in the end it was worth it
