Dang dog is working me over, I was trimming my front yard tree and she decided to tear her crate up, #1 and #2, so after a lot of dry heaving and me still wanting to work in the yard we have come up with a compromise. I think she won this one. View attachment 1055228
She's not working you over...She's growing on you.

I was riding on one of those inner tubes in my youth at Delaware shore with a buddy.... it was his and we were around 13 .... after rolling off beach we took thing to a gas station to hose it down. But we decided to have a second session in afternoon so pumped it up harder and thing blew up on us. He got a broken nose and something happened to my rib cage that hurts for weeks! Things are a beast and so fun to ride waves on once you get on top.

I meant to respond to this, but then RD went through the whole hacking thing and I got side tracked. So I was actually right down the street from those apartments at 2512 Ocean Blvd. When I first moved in, I was paying $700/month for my room....deal of the century for the view we had.
There ya go... I know that home. It rented for many years and just posted for sale I believe. My building almost made your pic but cropped out of upper rt. corner @ Dahlia/ Seaview. Great lil hood.

This might be the last pic of the old girl for awhile. After almost 35 years the old Mercury oil injection took a shit and the motor went boom yesterday. First time ever with that issue. 😡😢 View attachment 1055899
Let me guess, the nylon gear on the crank stripped?????? I've warned people of that on RDP. I had a Mercury Sport Jet that did it with less than 3 hours on the engine. Back when I was doing Mercs, 70's and 80's, I'll bet I rebuilt at least 20 of them.

Can't tell you . My son was out with it. Got the normal beeps when you turn the key on. But no warning beeps the internal oil tank wasn't filling or running low.
I think he said heard a pop, then obviously other internal noises. They just got home yesterday and all i did was walk over look at it, shake my head ( shit happens)
Tried to spin the prop in neutral no luck. Went inside and made a strong drink:rolleyes:

Just had 4 coyotes walk the back part of our property near the edge of the wash, I was not able to get all 4 in one image.

Trying to spin the prop in neutral with no luck is not an engine failure. It's a lower unit failure. Drop the lower off of it, 5 minutes, and try turning the flywheel with or without the plugs in it. If it turns fine , lower unit is the problem. Check for very small pimples on the lower unit bullet, sign of blown up gears.

Went to beautiful Catalina Island last weekend.

Haven't been since I was a kid.
Hit the bars Friday night and had a great time.

But the ol' lady drank a little too much.
She went to bed feeling like this....

Look close.

I went to grab the hose and thought the water going through a bend in the hose sounded kind of like a rattlesnake LOL

Holy Shit, it's pictures like this ( That YOU tend to post ) that's really encouraging me to get my cataracts taken care of. Dude, I'd have never spotted that one in the wild, because I never wear my glasses while out working.
No wonder I haven't seen any rattlers this year 😅
They've all passed the word around I'm friggin blind, so just don't move or rattle and the old fuck will just go on about his business and not try to kill you. 🤣

Ha,
The wierd thing is the adults only strike my tongs once or twice. This little guy struck it about 20 times before I “relocated” him. Im lucky he had at least grown a small buzzer

Here’s some of what came out of the lower when my son just removed the prop😢

Because of your posts, I bought nice snake tongs, they work so well, since my purchase I haven't seen a single rattler, large or small --- Yippee 😁

I'm more used to relocating them using a good shove from my 22 cal snake shot. I think the first time I approach one using the tongs I'm going to be as nervous as a whore in a " fire and brimstone" revival meetin 🥵
He'll strike, I'll jump, then re-approach, repeat, just hope to hell I don't fall over something 🤣

Damn, that little prick was really well concealed in that hose, I'm surprised he buzzed you.

Live to play another day... I prefer the gals use the toilet, but for some reason they often go in sinks? Your first photo up on the hill is by the bell tower. It was built by Ms Wrigley to call her husband in from deep sea fishing back when the gum magnate owned entire island. you chose a great weather weekend to go.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!! That appears to be pieces of piston, wrist pin needles a retainer and clip. Damn, that stuff did some travelin'!!!!!
Yep. After removing most and not dropping the lower it’s not gears. Prop spins fine with all that shit out of there Lol. So maybe my son and I learn about rebuilding a 2 stroke. Depending on cost of course. I mean the boat is a 76. But has family sentiment ( 3 generations keeping it up) since we bought it so cost could have a wide range. My MIL just passed last night so it’s not a priority right now.
