Anniversary of my Father in law’s last day on Earth as a Montebello Police Officer. Shot, Killed in a Liquor Store Robbery/Hostage incident in 1971. Army Vet, left a wife and three children 2, 4, 6 behind. RIP Sir. The killer escaped and was captured a year later after four additional robberies and several attempt rapes. He got life with Parole. I went to his last hearing last year in Chino State where he was denied for the 6th time. He was deported four times prior to the robbery for other crimes. Some things never change....

Thanks,
He was, did everything right, life can change in an instant that’s for sure.
His kids are a great legacy: Nurse Executive with Kaiser, Elementary School Teacher, and head Mechanic/Supervisor for an OC City.... He was a helicopter mechanic in the Army, his son inherited his mechanic skills without his Dad around. In the genes no doubt....

Hiked to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park today at an altitude of 10,110. Saw Nymph Lake and Dream Lake along the way. It was 44 degrees with 45 mph winds when I got on the trail and was warm enough to take my gloves off on the way down. A spectacular day!

Greg is a good dude. Have spent a few days with him in the sand. Glamis and Dumont when he was still racing napcar.

Ya really nice guy. My buddy camps and rides with him a couple times a year.

hopefully not 25'..LOL

I'm taking pictures daily.. growing about 4" daily...

That is kind of like a plant that is in Hawaii. It only blooms once and the dies. It is the silver sword.

4” a day is impressive. Maybe a time lapse video could be made.

There is another weird plant the corpse flower. It does not bloom often and when it does it is one day. They says the bloom smells like rotting flesh. I have been to see it twice and it does not smell that bad.

I'm a pretty big fan of the campground here at Calico Ghost Town, but there's a KOA on Ghost Town Rd down by the freeway as a second option.

Little earlier today. Quick cash in 40 minutes. Still figuring this stuff out... anchored to the wall with a 5/8" drop in anchor. Decided to test how secure it was by pushing on the mast. Anchor popped out. Hammered the anchor back in and didn't fuck with it no more. Drilled 5" hole, 12" deep. Core is in lower left next to flashlight.

The hole was about 7 minutes. The whole setup, drill, and cleanup was 40 minutes.

So many years ago we had our own coring machine, almost identical to yours. Needed to core a 4" hole for an electrical conduit wall penetration. I got the machine setup, aligned, a 2 gallon pump tank for water, power and laid out the laborer to complete drilling the core. Meanwhile I had to leave for a meeting on a different jobsite.
I return almost TWO hours later and I'll be damned, the guy is still sitting there with the machine whirring away and it's still maybe halfway through the wall.
I'm in full WTF mode, he explains how many tanks of water he's used and it's not moving ----
I look at it and point out that the drill motor is spinning but the coring bit is NOT.
The shear pin had sheared --- fuck me , so yes there were dumb-asses in the early 70's too :p

First hole I ever drilled I used another motor that is loud, noisy, and rattles the base. Caught a rebar with the edge of the bit... the rig got real noisy and rattled pretty good and then BANG. Thought the spindle shaft or gearbox broke. Look down and see the shear pin sheared. Put a new one in and continued but the bit wasn't spinning and go wtf. The new pin fell out in the mud. Hammered a bow in the pin and finished the job.
