I love doing the stuff you are doing. Wife and I drive around the country all the time. Just did a drive from Bangor,Maine to Spring lake, New Jersey. Had a wedding to go to in NJ so we decided to fly in to Maine and drive down. Only different is we like to stay in Hotels in the downtown areas. Keeps me from drinking and driving

So…the place I was gonna stay in MO tonight notified me extreme thunderstorms and possible tornados on the way. So….I hightailed it NW and ended up in Kansas which is safe from all of this…at least for today.

i was a little hungover after the brewery last night but off I went with no place to stay. It was a long drive…at least it seemed very long…but I got lucky as shit.

staying here with full hookups for friggin 10. Per night. Its a city park with about 10 spaces with trees and I can see the lake from my window. How awesome is that? I have both ACs cranking and will use up the 10. In AC usage alone. Lol. I dont need any other hookups. Some times you find the best places just completely winging it.

if just you and your low maint you will have a lot more options to you by using the camper. The 5th wheel limits certain areas. For me it is my home though so 5th wheel it is. I like the room

you know your paths…lol. Yep 75 straight up. I avoided KC and dod a loop west bound before heading north. Tons of farms and I prefer looking at that and passing thru the population 200 towns

Are you saying I-35 and I-29? No I wouldn’t unless I had to haul ass and get there quick. I’ve gone both ways and I prefer the leisurely drive on 75 if I have the time.

So woke up to a non stress start to the day with a little bit of rain. The coffee tasted especially smooth and good as I got going. When I came outside I noticed the two other RVs but still no sign of people there. Basically we have the park to ourselves.

The guy also here is from Phx and he has the same trailer as me. Wierd!

Storms getting to roll in. I guess it knocked out lots of power in Omaha which isnt far away. Just great ;(

I did not unhook and stabilize and the trailer is rocking a bit. Roxy is freaking out a bit…she is quite the weather vane.

yes I would. When staying for more than one day I unhook and explore. I have had a Class A and prefer the 5th wheel. I love driving the dually as well.

the length does limit access occasionally but if you had a class A would kind of be in the same boat regardless. If i had a traveling partner they would probably prefer a class A as you can cook, bathroom etc while underway. I have been known to drive thru entire states. Lol

so…Had a few minutes talking with this guy. He is a cop of 4 years from Colorado Springs. Family of three kids and pretty nice. I sense he wishes he would have been a cop in the old days. Dont think his heart is in it.

gave him a local RV park name in CO Springs to check out from time to time while back home. He is going to check it out. Our family lived there 50 years ago. Lots of stories and history.

anyhow…dinner and BLs while watching the prelim fights on espn

Just passed thru Omaha. Stopped at the Walmart to pick up some DEF. Lots of tree branches down. i didnt see any structural damage. Standing water in places.

Central East Omaha looks like a shit hole. Run down houses and apartments along with fwy construction going on I29. Ugly ad shit

Passed over the MO River but no pic. That was cool.

Remix…changing up again. Found this state park in Iowa. Going to stay here for about a week. Lake backed up to the park, lots of trees and full hookups for 150. a week. Just south of Sioux City. I think its Brown Lake or something like that. Got some full roasted chicken for Roxy so shes is happy as well.

Even turned on the outside TV to watch the Tahoe golf tournament while having BLs. All is good with Roxy and I sitting in shade.
A local was very helpful. He his wife and kids stay here on the weekends. He helped me out with advice on how to get in and out of here which was really helpful. My rig is the biggest one in here. So…I gave him and his wife a half dozen of the apple cinnamon donuts I bought at the orchard at the last stop. They are delicious but I dont need a friggin dozen. They came over and hung out with Roxy and I for about 30 minutes. Roxy loved the constant petting from the kids.
