By the way BTJ you made me think of all the people I have talked to that are retired and traveling. Most of them have all these reservations here and there. Like they have to stay on schedule. I like the adapt as you go but its just me so it makes it a helluva lot easier of course.

at the place before this was a couple from N Carolina. The massive amount of stuff being laid outside of their 5th wheel…steps, ramps for the dogs, fencing, lights, golf cart, BIG BBQ amongst other shit. He told me in their garage in the 5th wheel it is so crowded they cant really use the outside deck. I look at shit like that for a full timer and i just think they are still caught up in the rat race and dont know how to relax. I might be wrong but no fucking way I am traveling like that. All that work setting up and breaking down. Ahhhhh….no thanks but….

I feel that way on the weekends too . We used to desert camp with people who spent half a day setting up and another braking down . I am a minimalist . Half hour to fully load up and be on the move . Definitely a lot less stress too . I love the story of the trip so far . Stay safe and thanks .

So…got to my next stop. Had to avoid lots of low hanging branches. A golf course and its raining and raining some more. Actually good thing because my trailer would have never gotten in here.

didnt want to hit the road so early today but I felt I had to get out of that lot before golfers started showing up. Was able to barely avoid the low hanging branches and all is good. Foggy as a mofo but clearing a bit.

Couple of pics from the Tractor museum. Harvest Host place in Kimball SD and my night stop. I have so many its crazy. Cool place. Have been speaking to the volunteers for hours. Very nice and down to earth. I really enjoyed talking with them. Just got invited to go to a German Colony. Apx 200 people in the settlement. I politely declined . Interesting folks coming thru here.

One of the volunteers…a local farmer and contributor to this museum shared with me a very sad story. He had a nervous breakdown over this and still shakes when talking about it. He is about 70 years old and has no children. Anyhow….a local con man ripped him off as well as 29 others off for 1m each on a ponzi scheme concerning cattle. It did not completely destroy him but brought him to his knees. It probably is on the web under Kimball SD as it was highly publicized. Its a legal nightmare. I feel horrible for him and it is very sad. His farm is about 3500 acres and he said its a little larger than most around here.

everybody here loves Roxy and she loves the pace and grass around here. She literally sniffed every piece of farm equipment. Lol. They let her have the run of the facility.

none of them are vaccinated and they absolutely love their governor. Big Trump supporters but think sometimes he just talks a bit too much.

i love talking with farmers and ranchers thru the midwest.

The no schedule, minimalist travel is what I prefer. I like your approach to this is perfect. Whether staying one night or several, you are setup in a few minutes and ready to roll at a moments notice. Plus, your motorcycle is inside and your patio is functional. We typically hotel it (mostly because I accumulated so many hotel points from business travel, it’s been free), and over the years we’ve significantly whittled down what we bring no matter the trip length. One 22/24 roller board suitcase each, and an ice chest (small AO for short trips or medium Coleman for long trips). I’m the kind of guy when I owned a boat would bring a hat, suntan lotion, and an ice chest. Anything else was unnecessary. Lol. The mentality kind of drives the wife and kids nuts sometimes. Lol

So the other couple here are retired military and cool as hell. Her 36 years and he 42 years. They both served at Fort Ord CA during the time my Dad was an officer there. Talked about the pennisula etc. Staying at the same place in Sturgis. We will get together while there.
