A buddy of mine just picked up the 6.2L and 10 speed. He tows his Conquest and it does great. He did tell me to stay away from the 8 speed

Yeah its crazy considering the Colorado has a 21 gallon tank and it’s a much smaller truck.

So for the newer ram 1500.... is the hemi and 10 speed a good reliable combo?

I am still driving my 2005 silverado 1500 Z71 w/ 5.3 @ 192K miles. Other than just rebuilding the trans this week for the first time, she has never let me down. I'd like to make sure my next truck is similar.

My little half ton will make it to the river and back if not towing. Same size as my old 3/4 diesel fuel tank.

My concern is taking my toyhauler up to the mountains. fully loaded the trailer is about 10500, going from 1500ft up to 7k ft over 250 miles. I'm worried I'll have to fill up twice. Currently have 36 gal in the F150 and usually have to fill up at about 200 miles

Anyone see anything spectacular yet as far as deals? I'm not seeing much but maybe it's early. Some of these rental fleets getting liquidated seem interesting.

My daily is a 19’ and I hate the damn thing.

The body styling is hideous, the trans flair is random and often and the dealer says nothing is wrong, and the seats/interior is terrible.

I’m close to getting rid of it because every time I look at it I’m disappointed. I have no idea what Chevy was thinking but no way this styling is a selling trucks.
1500?

If you need a truck anytime soon, get it now as dealers are already running short on inventory. Cars are different, Toyota, Subaru, and others have cars stacking up at the port. Dealers do not want them, so they sit.

Just need to make it from Corona to Havasu and I usually tow around 55, never in a huge hurry. Have a 2005 Suburban 2500 with the 8.1L and 4:10’s currently and it’s like a box of tooth picks back there lol

Domestic automakers will be out of cash by 3Q if things continue as they have been.

But with states and locales opening up, plants opening back up, a heavy uptick in sales is projected.

you got a Suburban when a truck was a truck. 8.81 and a 4.10. That’s a towing machine.

Buy it before I put my 2” spacer on this week. It will eventually have Thuren on it just being cheap for now.
Will be leveled with 295/70/18 falkens in about a week or so

You're selling or that's what you bought it for? If so where'd you buy it?
I bought it in Sacramento forget the name of the dealer.
this is what I will sell it for. I owe allot less that will help on sales tax.

Diamond Hills Chevy's Rick Gill has always taken care of me on my trucks. Love the guy... Im sure he has great deals give him a call.

Just traded in my 2013... 90k miles and no problems, was an awesome truck. So far happy as hell with my 2020 3500. I'm a chevy diehard though. There is no other option.

I’d have no issue at all running Don’s stuff [emoji106]

I’m gonna keep my Silverado 1500 for a while. But your truck is similar to my 07 and I’d love to replace it with another...except I don’t need diesel this time around.

QC LB, with a massive wheelbase and 35s or 37s and a 3-ish inch lift is the perfect truck IMHO

Downhill hasn't been an issue with my '12 F150. Slow her down to 50 before cresting the downhill and manually downshift with a little bit of braking to try to keep it between 50 and 60. Current truck hates dragging it up the mountain though, have had to manage temperatures on the largest climbs.

Might be a good place to ask this, anyone looking to get out of their late model, 17 18 19 3/4 ton diesel into a half ton? I bought a f150 lariat and works great for what we do but now my wife and i are looking at a larger travel trailer/toy hauler. Not going to abuse the F150 if we go larger.

Car rental companies are hurting in a big way right now. Hertz is filing BK.

Selling used cars is a large part of their business model, they don’t just rent cars.

There should be some excellent deals if you search their used car inventory.

The only challenge I’ve found historically is, these rents fleet trucks often don’t have tow packages.

And they’re usually lower/middle as far as options and packages go, they may not be “fully loaded”.

But I would wager these cars are maintained to a higher standard than how the average Joe maintains his hoopty.

My Buddy unloads them at the port. Nissan has thousands of rentals parked at the stadiums and there port lots are full. They have laid off almost all the employees at this point. Airport rental fleet is majority of there business.

The rental companies have not hurt enough yet. hertz and Avis car sales might be first, I doubt if Enterprise will ever give away any car. they are family owned and have big assets. Most rental car companies fried thousands of employees, many 25 year folks, severance packages, now off the books. I lost a few very good friends in the industry.

Hertz is officially hurting now.

Used car prices have fallen, they’re running out of cash, and no one is renting cars.

Others may be in the same boat, but Hertz is, um, hurting.

Good info here:
