When I know that I am going to be Captaining a boat ALL DAY, I buy McDonalds.

The reason is because it has so many preservatives. I know that even if I eat it cold, I won’t get food poisoning. Just obesity. Lol

I order 4 double cheese burgers, and eat them throughout the day.

I know this is slightly off subject. But eating is one of my hobbies. I heard the name McDonalds, and reacted like Regor to a conspiracy! Lol

With all the savings from positive falling gas prices, you could up it to five cheeseburgers!!! 🤣

Reading replies in this and others reminds me there a lot of sharp people on here. . I belive regardless of whom is in the White house or the governor of the state I reside in I've been able to be profitable most years.

There is always opportunity, you just have to keep looking.

-I've always tried to not follow the masses; If you do it will certainly put you in with them.

I saw this timely article on Apple News this morning from Fast Company. There is likely a paywall, but for those who have access :

Menu price increases at McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and other chains are sparking consumer revolt

BY CHRISTOPHER ZARA photograph by Scott Semler numbers by ana duje EARLIER THIS YEAR, ALLEN Watson stopped treating himself to his favorite McDonald’s meal: the biscuits-and-gravy combo with a sausage patty and Diet Coke. A startup cofounder from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, he says the $11 he spent on the meal one January day finally shocked him into abstinence. “That’s crazy to me, because the sit-down restaurants around here are almost the same price,” Watson says.
I wasn’t aware McDs sold biscuits and gravy. Maybe it’s a regional menu thing?

I’d never eat it, my biscuits and gravy are exactly what I like.

I can't be the only one who's grabbed a slice of pizza left on the counter overnight...

Back when we were 16-17 and camping out in Glamis/ocotillo or dumont dunes we’d bring out pizza with us and eat it for the rest of the weekend 🤣 and throw in a couple cans of spaghetti’os / bag of Doritos.

Can’t prepare nice meals out of a truck bed for the weekend.

Cooked up some bacon today on the BS for some BLTs today.

Rode the Harley into town to pick up some lettuce and tomatoes.

3 tomatoes were $7.

I can afford it but for families to feed their kids and so forth.....I have no idea how they do it. Especially a single parent house hold.

Crazy

7 bucks for three tomatoes? That’s gotta include a happy finish. 🤷

I’m thinking @DILLIGAF should get RD to sell him the indoor MyGarden hydroponics tower. I’m sure he’s over it by now since we haven’t seen any new posts.
Because you know he’s about to respond to my previous comment by saying it’s too cold where he lives😉

My wife usually buys the egg shaped Roma tomatoes since they're significantly less $. Mostly used in salads, they don't fit on a burger so good, lol😁

I have the outbuildings to make that all work but too many other projects to do first.

Chicken coop goes in first ;)

I'm gonna guess those families are growing their own?

Or shopping at mom and pop stores you don't know about yet?

"Look Margaret, here comes that CA transplant guy. Quick, change the prices!!!"

I don't eat tomatoes but I got a bunch of them growing. My Guys set up a little garden area I didn't even know about. I just notice the amount of avocados and oranges go down each week. They water and maintain them so it works out. I could never eat that many.

Salza mang!

Tomatoes, avocado, red onion, cilantro, jalapenos, lime juice, salt and pepper. Add garlic and cumin if you want more depth to it.

Get rid of all the seeds and stuff when you cut the Roma's & Jalapenos.

I'll leave a few jalapeno seeds and pith for Some heat though...

Yum.

One of the reasons costs are going up. Theft.
Just leaving Oreillys. Already went to Autozone. Half the shelves at Autozone empty. All the Mobil 1 oil filters shows in stock but none I need. Similar at O'Reilly. Had to mix and match with WIX. It was same way a few months ago. Nothing they can do they can't stop them. Similar at HD and Lowes. Was at contractors Warehouse early. Some of the items are 50% less than the other 2.

Super Markets get hit non stop. Items are billed out at retail not cost at most stores which makes zero sense.

They need to start cutting off fingers. There is a Walgreens, CVS and rite aid all closed by me. Rite aid been empty for probably 8 years now. They were losing there ass to theft. The heroin addicts and tweekers from the encampment down the street go there everyday and take whatever they want. I have been in there when they do. Employees say they are told to do nothing.
