Awesome House in Frisco tonight. They were filming some show so I couldn’t see all of it.

Visited a house in Keller tonight. EPIC. Lights were amazing, but this one had a drone show as well. Never seen anything like it in person. Unfortunately I can’t upload my own vids.

475 higher? I had heard the average bill goes up about 200-250 due to lights.
I’m curious to see mine next month.

Last year no outside lights as we were working through the loss and grief of a loved one.

This year not much better. However, kind of felt guilty as the three houses surrounding us all have their lights up. They also all have young kids. When we moved in back in 91 we were the kids. Now I guess we are the old people in the neighborhood.

I decided to get the lights up to also help motivate the wife to decorate inside the house. I know half way through December and just doing it now. I have old school c9 colored light strings. Nothing fancy just follow the eaves around the front and side as we are a corner house. Actually I really like the simple old school look of the incandescent lights.

Didn’t get a chance to check the strings before installing. Just wanted to get them up before I lost the motivation. As luck would have it, a fair amount of bulbs were out.

Can you even buy a replacement incandescent light bulb in California anymore? Surprised me that you could. Pack of five replacement bulbs running about $15 at local hardware store. Without even counting, I know I have at least fifteen or more out. $45 in lightbulbs seams ridicules, it’s an age thing. Did a search for c9’s online and found Lowe’s had strings of twenty five in stock and on sale for less than nine dollars.

Crazy to me that you can buy a string of twenty five lights cheaper than five replacement bulbs. Throw away world we are living in. So much for environmental protection. It’s all just lip service.

Bought two strings of light to rob the bulbs. Replaced twenty five out of a hundred. Still have twenty five spare bulbs for about the price of five replacement bulbs.

Merry Christmas!

I know what you mean. I’m almost to the point of just throwing them away and buying new ones next year

Took my wife on a carriage ride to see the houses/lights in Highland Park last night. “Think the Beverly Hills of Dallas” Saw the homes of Alice Walton, Jerry Jones’ daughter and son, and the owner of the Chiefs among others. Really cool experience. Pics aren’t great as they are screen shots from videos.

We always go look at Christmas lights just before Christmas and we make our rounds to our usual spots and always find new displays as well.

I wanted to share this one with you as it's one of the better ones here in Simi. Even ran into my Ex gf there tonight.

I bought those same light strands from Lowes. Be careful, the box says connect up to 2 strands. I bought and used 5 strands and plugged them all into each other and into one extension cord and blew fuses! There is only a 5amp fuse in the plug. I was able to find a 6 amp and it has held all 5 strands thankfully. It almost really pissed me off though that the strands are designed to be plugged in together but can not support the load of more than 2 strands. I actually ran some tests and 4 strands proved to be no issue on the 5 amp fuse, its that 5th strand that blew it instantly! lol

I think I might head down...any specific areas you recall? I am not super familiar with the area but I am sure something is posted or with traffic?

Thank you!
Nothing is posted, but some of the neighborhoods will have signs as winners. Go to the following at a minimum and wander to see others. That’s part of the fun.

Bramford
Shively
Minford Circle/Pickering Cir
Bainbridge
