You guys take your Christmas Lights Down?

I leave mine up so I know which trailer is mine….
trailer? not very ramsey-esque if you ask me. I traded 4 Busch lights for my card board box. it turned out to be imitation cardboard, but it worked well with my pleather relaxing chair.

Got ours up today! Always the day after turkey! ... Well most years... The snowman and Christmas tree are a special one of a kind. My grandpa and I made them when I was about 10 or so in his shop, I'm 41 now. These however are replicas as the first set weathered and broke.

We do ours the week of Thanksgiving every year when the nieces and kids come over. Had back surgery about a month ago so had to hire someone this year and his only availability was the week before Thanksgiving. Looks like I started a new trend in the neighborhood as they all followed right behind and I have never seen so many Light's up before Thanksgiving in my life.

First time putting lights on this house. I'm about 3/4 or so done. It's always interesting trying to figure out how the lights should go and where on a new place.

That’s the problem I’m gonna have this year. I pretty much knew what went were on the old house. Chucked everything when we moved so starting from scratch this year.
Probably gonna be a little lite this year until I figure out what will fit where.

That looks nice! I vote to put lights around your entry arch and turn off landscape lighting. Looks good regardless of my minuscule input.

Don’t plan on it. Windows and porch railings is what I’m picturing. 😁

Lights are normally done day after Thanksgiving, but just got home from vacation. That's a story in itself.

Landed last night, got to work this morning, and hit storage for the wife's Christmas shit and outdoor lights after work. This was only the 1st trip

I grew up in the dark house with no lights.

Dad traveled a lot for work. Every year mom would get him to put up lights "for the kids." I guess one year he had enough and told mom if she wanted lights up for the kids to get out there and get after it. Mom to her credit went out and put up lights and took them down.

The next year dad asked mom if she was going to put up lights for the kids and the response was "no" and that was the end of xmas lights at our house.

That’s kind of sad to me. Some of my most vivid memories when I was young are me helping my dad put up lights. Pushing the box full of lights across the ground as he put them up, stepping on the strands and breaking bulbs lol Eventually getting on the ladder and using the staple gun. Never stopped loving it.

Lol opposite for me. I hated helping out with putting up Xmas lights. In hindsight I'm sure a more efficient process could have been devised. My grandpa had one year put out hooks on his eves and built a little tool to help hang lights, it took him maybe 15 min to put them up and 15 min to take them down. Our house the eve's were very uneven and putting ladders out was a pain due to where the flower beds were placed.

In my current home I don't think lights look good, we don't have street lights in our neighborhood, everyone has a big light in their front yard and it washes out a lot of the xmas lights.

Flew into long beach last night, super clear out, Huntington harbor and Alamitos harbor looked pretty cool, lots of homes lit up.

Wife wants to do inflatables but fucksticks go around at night and either steal them or cut them so we don't want to spend the money
I don’t blame you. I doubt it will happen around here, but you never know. I’d rather do cut outs, but they are more expensive.

Last time I did an inflatable, I drove an anchor spike through my sprinkler line. Took me half the summer to find that leak 😳

Here’s round one. It ain’t over till Christmas Day😀

Just grab 1 or 2 of the little 4'ers from the HD. I doubt anything will happen to them and if something did, you aren't out much. And it makes the wife happy.

If you’re in the Plano area, take the kids to Deerfield. Neighborhood does a great job with lights. This house was synched with music and lights on the trees on the entire street. It was awesome.

About 4 years ago I threw all my lights away when I took them down, every single strand, even the ones that worked because I said..."I am going to buy all new matching sets when all the Christmas stuff goes on sale in January"....well we haven't put up any lights for 4 years now...and this weekend my wife got sick of it and went and bought all new lights on Saturday and my son and I put them up yesterday...

I switched over to all RGB pixels last year, been having some fun with it. I did about 15 sequences for this year and they are about 50/50 Christmas vs non Christmas songs.
Always fun to go see this, but I hope you are not offended when I tell you that I am glad you don't live across the street from me!

It gets spendy quick when going all in on everything. I have about 2K in GE commercial LED icicle lights and they now look dated but they are the only lights that have lasted 4 years. This year I really thought about replacing them but after dumping another 600.00+ in replacing other lights outside of the eves I'm going to use them until the quit working.

My ear is healing up well, but I am really getting exhausted answering the question of WTF happened to your ear.
