Last Friday Guy Fieri had a family road trip in Tennessee and toured the Lodge factory, still owned by the Lodge family. I was impressed that any employee could scrap a pan at any time if they found a defect! I told my wife about your thread and she said she has never used one! Her mom used a cast iron pan to make pineapple upside down cake that was fantastic but that’s all she could remember her using it for. I don’t think my parents used one either but my grandmother and aunts in Minnesota used them all the time!Absolutely.

One more from my Italian wife. Caprese chicken with pesto wheat pasta and garlic broccoli. start with good olive oil and season to your taste. That would be a cool tour.
Once you get the cast iron pan dialed in, you'll never bbq a steak again.
I steeped up my game with a HUGE cast iron pan, and it's the best thing I've ever bought.

Owe hell yeah, doubt that would last very long on my plate.
How in the hell are you guys cooking steak with a cast iron inside the house? My wife kicks me outside all the time. I even have a commercial exhaust hood too. Of course she does the cleaning. Lol.

More Eggs on Cast Iron
They key to the toasting the bread, use Mayo instead of butter. Spread a thin layer of Mayo on the bread then toast is on cast iron, I gave the cast iron a quick squirt of PAM, before I put the bread on it.
Ohhh use Med or Med to Low heat, pending the btus of your stove.
great looking stargazer pan there.
You know whats funny, I've been using PAM for a few years on my pans too, even though EVERYONE says not to. I did a test years ago on a (2) 8" Lodge cast irons and after a full year of use, I found that the pan that I used PAM on was a good bit better than the pan only ever saw veg (corn) oil
Flaxseed oil beats em all. Shit is Expensive, but a small bottle lasts a whole year.
Pretty simple. What did you put in the breading?
Pretty simple.
Seasoned Salt, Paprika, Salt and Pepper.
Good ol’ Betty Crocker knew a thing or two even way back when!
This reminds me of my Grandmothers fried chicken, crisco shortening and the same cast iron pan I now use.

She also made biscuits from scratch, as is no recipe. yum.
She said when she was a girl in Texas they had to go outback and catch the chicken first!

Here's the deal you can buy stamped stell pans (carbon steel) for dirt cheap from restaurant supply stores, they are for the most part about all the same, stamped steel buy bare foot Indian slave laborers in Bangladesh. If you're paying more than $5 for a small pan and more than $15 for a largersize you're paying to much.
Here ya go.You cant post something looking that good without the recipe…
Come on now.. .SHARE.
