Hey you guys gotta look at it as half full. Now this will clean up all the crack/meth head abodes and get them off the streets. That will improve traffic and parking along the beaches. ;)

Those addicts don't have enough money to pay for their yearly DMV registration fees, much less additional fines/fees implemented by this bullshit program. It's simply another money-grab which will unfortunately trickle down to young, hard-working families who are trying to get their feet wet in the world of recreation vehicles.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We all know that they will not enforce the homeless……opps…..unhoused.

I figured the sarcasm would be self-evident. Would you suggest that I add [sarcasm] [/sarcasm] tags?🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

They got me too I had to pay the 2022 and 2023 non compliance fee, they would not send my 2024 tags that I al ready paid for. I think the 2024 fee is due in November.
The fee is not required for diesels MH 2012 and newer. Non deft diesel pickup are probably next.

Certain counties in Arizona do the same thing... The liberal bastion of Pima County made me smog test our diesel pusher EVERY year. 🤬 Ironically, when we moved to Mohave County, those requirements all went away

Huh well RB yes there is, I just went through this BS.
Paid the CA reg. in mid-April for the MOHO's exp. date at the end of May., a few weeks later I receive a DMV notice just like Meane77 did.
Went online to register the vehicle with "Clean Truck" paid a back FEE and a new FEE 🤬
Weeks go by and no new sticker, I email CT and was to finish reg. @DMV, walked in and was told that insurance coverage was not shown, really 🙄 I said yes it is, the clerk replied "Yes it is" he handed me my new reg and sticker and was told that next year i will have to have it smoged and every two years going forward. 🤬
Next year when the reg expires, I'll be registering in in AZ, the only reason it was registered in Ca was because the reg was a few grand less than AZ when I purchased it in 2019.

Mine is a 2019 and paid two years of back fees, 2023, 2024 for a 2025 tag.

I live in Tucson which is in Pima county and it is not just Diesel motorhomes but all diesel vehicles are smog checked yearly. My 2001 National RV with a 3126 CAT in it gets smog checked every year and it is a piece of cake. Drive up and they check a few things. Do a snap test and pay the $12.25 fee. Never leave the driver seat. Same thing for my 2018 Ram 2500.

First year I did the motorhome I asked the guy if diesel motorhomes fail smog check often and his responses was in all my years I have never seen or heard of one failing.

Also it is not a Pima county requirement but a city of Tucson requirement. If you live in the surrounding area like Marana, Oro Valley, Vail, Sahuarita, etc. there is no smog check requirements and all of those cities are in Pima County. My mom has a house in Marana AZ as well as lots of friends and they verified they do not have a smog check requirement to renew vehicle registration. I plan to register my ram there when I get around to deleting it.

Wow good to know I guess Newsom is coming up with fees and taxes on everything possible. Either I read it wrong or Clean Truck changed the rules probably both
I see on the website starting January 2025 all diesel MH will have to smog every other year.

I heard yesterday that California is seizing sales records from the deisel turner companies they busted and are now going after the owners of the deleted trucks. It’s a federal crime and fines start at $5k (plus the reconversion costs) and go up from there.

Has anyone else heard this?

My guess is it is only a matter of time before this spreads to other states.

From an article on line:

“Deleting a diesel isn’t just ill-advised; it’s a federal crime. Tampering with a vehicle’s emission system is a direct violation of federal law, even if you live in a state or county without annual or biannual emissions testing. If you’re caught driving a deleted diesel truck, you could face fines of up to $5,000 per non-emissions part! If you own a business selling/installing emissions defeat devices, those fines can increase to seven figures!”

It how you read it they will change the rules
CARB is A PIA. When I read that, I thought it referenced out-of-state vehicles, where the parent company is based in CA.

I believe out of state big rigs will need to be tested in CA, maybe even twice a year.
Commercial should be different ballgame than private vehicles, although i dont agree with those regulations either…..

Read the entire document. Out of state MH will not be impacted.
Thanks well that good news I am going to register mine in AZ next year. When I went to the DMV to pick up my tags I told the teller I'm going to register it out of state they said it wont help we are coming after out of state MH next I guess they were being sarcastic.

Just happened to a couple people I know. Had just spent the winter going through the whole thing with plans on making a fall trip through Montana and the Dakotas.

My gut tells me CA is going to try and go after MH‘s that WERE registered in CA then moved.

Are you proponent of vehicle inspections at the state line !?! We Californians need to change OUR state, and not enforce or export our bullshit rules on/to other states.
Not at all. Its more of what they are doing means nothing except to establish a program. Will the inspection find issues...maybe except how often are they used?
It will likely lead to more frequent inspections

In the mean while the rest of the US is welcomed. CARB needs to leave the RV's alone as a whole.

Maybe I missed it, but how much is the state fee, and what are the smog shops charging to inspect diesel’s? I’m assuming it’s strictly a visual inspection?

All I see is one skinny tree, lots of asphalt, sticky water, and violent waves. I’m glad you enjoy it though. It’s just not for me.

edit: I do like the beach. I used to go a lot when I was in high school and as a young adult. But after traveling to Florida, I lost my appreciation for California beaches. SoCal beaches are beautiful, and I love the smell of the salt air, but I found that I didn't like the way the sand stuck to everything and I prefer calm waters to waves. So I stopped going. As I've said many times, it's awesome that this nation has such a diverse geography that anyone can live in whatever climate and terrain they want. You love the California coast. Fabulous. I prefer the solitude of deserts and mountains.

“Lots of asphalt, sticky water and violent waves”?

You sound crazy to me.

15-minute city

The intention of this human-centric design concept is to reduce the use of cars and instead promote walking, cycling, and use of public transport. As such, 15-minute cities tend to emphasise features like green and public spaces, bike lanes and public walkways rather than roads.

Serious question, why does the sand get into everything and stick, like it does in California? I've not experienced that in Florida, I always assumed it was the violence of the Pacific swirling the sand into the water, or the micro Tar additives from those offshore rigs, or perhaps the shit that runs into the Ocean in the outside chance of rain. I don't recall the same issue when I was living in Catalina, I guess I should Google. So California beaches never turned me on, I think the last memorable experience I had was the 1986 OP pro. Made it easier to leave I guess when you don't love the Ocean.
