Look at the calorie count on those things. If you wanna gain weight, there is no better food out there!
Hold my 30 pack of beer.

And that was 8 empty or pulling a day cruiser and fully loaded. I’ll even go back too the square bodies on that.
I was just having this conversation this weekend with guys at the river. Used to roll into Havasu with 4 to 6 buddies, boat in tow. We'd all crash in one hotel room, pitch in for gas for truck and boat, barely eat and buy a few 30 packs of CL. Whole fuckin trip out the door for 3 days was like $200 each. LOL Crazy.
No problem. Just drive 160 miles per hour!My 460 1 ton, towing my toy hauler...
Got 16 gallons per hour. (One tank per hour, dual tanks).
Good thing gas was cheap back then!
We love smart and final. been shopping there for years. your analogy is spot on.Whole Foods costs your whole wallet. Smart and Final is interesting. It’s like a crossroads of Costco, Walmart, and a restaurant supply store. Need a 6lb block of cheese? Got it!!
One short leg at Costco yesterday was 64.00There was a post the other day someone looking for King Crab- I was in Albertsons yesterday and King Crab was $62.00 a lb Thats friggin $240.00 for 4 legs.
F- that.

If you tow 55mph, thats 3.4275 MPG Joe.......
Is this why you made 460 leave RDP?
I agree on the sit down restaurants these days, but I'll stick up for the food trucks. A lot of them have a limited menu, but do a fantastic job on those few items. There is one local that does a burger, or a pastrami sandwich - they are both about four inches tall, with a stick holding them together, and the stick has a dill pickle spear & an onion ring on it. They come with really good fries. I don't mind paying a premium for those, but yes, I've wondered too, how come they cost more, but have a small overhead compared to a brick & mortar restaurant.I ditched buying a combo at a sandwich shop or any fast food place years ago. Overpriced soda and chips! As a family, we do the same. No tip, unless the workers are cool/engaging.
Sit down restaurants we pretty much avoid. Service & food is subpar relative to prices. And beer/wine/cocktail is pricey.
Groceries are way up in price.
What’s up with food truck pricing? They charge more than a good sit down restaurant while largely lacking the physical space rent overhead. I avoid those like the plague.
I have not, but I will add it to my watch list. "Food, Inc" is another good one, along with "That Sugar Film"You ever watch diet for a new america? Old documentry on the meat industry done by the heir of the basken robbins estate. eye opener.
Hotel room???
Baller.
$85 for 2 adults and 3 kids at Juicys. Breakfast wasnt impressive and the pancakes were luke warm and had a bite taken out of the bottom one when they set my plate down. It’s $50 to feed a family of 4 @ The habit... and a little over $100 to fill up the 23 gallon tank in the truck.... but hey.... it’s not inflation.
Even in n out raised prices
We visited friends in canada a couple years30 pack of Coors Light- $35.00 WTF!!!! (Idaho)
Somebody’s got to pay for the $15+ minimum wage.
Breakfast is my favorite meal. Although I rarely eat it. But I can't justify going out for breakfast anymore with how much it costs coupled with the fact I can make every single thing on the menu myself and it's just as good 90% of the time. vast majority of our eating out is sushi. Can't make that shit at home. Well, don't want too at least. The last 2 times we went to our favorite place in Havasu for breakfast burritos it was terrible. 2 burritos and 2 drinks is $31. We get the steak and egg burrito. The last 2 times the eggs were burned and dry. They were actually brown. Minimal potatoes and virtually no onions nor peppers. Only 3 small pieces of tough dry steak. I only took one bite and that was it.
The first time, I figured it was a fluke. The 2nd time I decided it is how they are saving money. I contemplated complaining to the service girl, but seems to me that complaining about food never ends well. I sent an email to the owner/manager. I even had pictures. His response was I should have told someone and basically piss off. They can continue to lose customers and they can piss off.
Cheers, Steve
We do Walmart for regular groceries, Smart and Final for fruits and veggies, Stater brothers for anything else. .99 store is good as well for the basic stuff.
There aren’t any Mexican markets around me or I’d be going there.

How many "Speed Cars" did you put Deposits on?
I saw New York steaks on sale at Stater Bros. For $15.99 per pound! I'm retired, make good money, but I refuse to spend that kind of money for those shit steaks.
I went to the butcher shop in Laverne and got two 2” filets 52 dollars wtf and he wanted a tip afterIt’s $50 to feed a family of 4 @ The habit... and a little over $100 to fill up the 23 gallon tank in the truck.... but hey.... it’s not inflation.

Screw that. Was two towns over and they have lower taxes on cigarettes. $13.75 per pack VS my area's $15. Gas in my town is $1.60 per liter. The town I was in today doesn't have the stupid carbon and transit tax we have. Gas was $1.45 per liter. Filled up and bought a carton.
4.10 gears , 3 speed trans and small diameter 16 “ tiresI never understood how that was possible.

We used to fill several ice chest with beer and bring a couple bags of chips. That’s all we brought on the lake when we were single. Occasionally we would do something crazy like bring a watermelon. Uncut of courseWhen I first started going to the river, I slept in my truck. Only took trail mix and drinks for the ride there.
Then I got serious, and moved up to a dome tent!
Seems like we had Way more fun back then
No, they/we are just reminiscing how it was before Xiden .... besides there is some really funny shit on here that reminds me of back in the day...and that day wasn't that long agoYou guys sound like old people. Back in the day gasoline was 15cents a gallon. If your going to spend $100k for a boat everything else is change.

You guys tip when you go pickup take out and if you do, how much?
This. We were kind of forced to cook at home more. We got in the habit of going out about 4 days a week. Wife had stomach issues for years. Was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease (can't have gluten). So we did a bunch of research and changed everything about our eating. (well I still cheat a little) Started cooking at home and mainly only eating fresh fruits, veggies and meats. Feel better and lost weight. Now it is fun to find new recipes.Going out to eat has just become a sore point for me. I eat in as much as possible. Eating out has become expensive, the food is not that good, long waits, and basic customer service doesn't exist.
What gets in my head is I can eat out or save the $600 a month and apply it to something that will provide opportunity. $600 is a lot to flush down the toilet monthly.
You have a good point. Im employed, have a house, family and friends are good- guess I should be grateful (which I am)Does anyone ever have a good day here? LOL.....we have become the grumpy old mens club. Driving $100k+++ boats complaining about fast food prices.
I heard this back when I bought a new Sanger from the boat show in 1987.No, they/we are just reminiscing how it was before Xiden .... besides there is some really funny shit on here that reminds me of back in the day...and that day wasn't that long ago
Yep. Eating in more since the plandemic kicked in.Subway foot long. $17. I was like “whaaaaat?!?” Yes I added bacon, it’s the only thing that has flavor there.

Every dinner now is over $100 with my family of four going out.

Paid $44 for two double cheeseburgers, a single cheese burger, 3 fries and 2 drinks from Shake Shack in Pasadena last night. Wife and daughter love it...I don't get it, they are the size of a Hawaiian sweet roll. It’s $50 to feed a family of 4 @ The habit... and a little over $100 to fill up the 23 gallon tank in the truck.... but hey.... it’s not inflation.
