Apparently they are going to increase the tax by 59 cents next year? The answer of just print more money and give it to the public has consequences. Add in a huge amount of graft with hundreds of billions in homeless programs and high speed rail and you get a broke state that the tax payers is gonna have to bail out.

Hopefully not a vin...

based purely on past actions, would it shock you if the gas taxes were raised after the election?
Nothing shocks me anymore....but there is no actual facts in the article.

I just wanna know where the $100 Billion they've collected since the last gas tax increase has been spent? It sure isn't going to fix potholes. Last week I blew out a shock on my F350 going down a paved road that look like the lunar surface. Roads in Mexico are better than Californias!!!

Gas tax goes up .02 July 1st, 2024. Just like electric bills, this will go up every year until America wakes up and stops voting for pricks like Newsome and company.
Hey can we keep this about gas tax.
And not bring up electric bills?
I’m trying to get a raise over here.

At some point -

More “producers “ (Job creators) will leave the state - think of all the democratic city’s that had union car manufacturing plants that went away …
Then what ?

let in more illegals !

That works unless you continue to outpace the supply of people riding on the wagon than the workhorses pulling the wagon. That’s why you open the borders to people that depend on government handouts when the populace begins to figure out what your doing.

Simple solution.

Without raising taxes or tax rates.

The citizens of California need to pass a proposition that all elected officials & politicians, in the state of California, have to drive their own vehicle and pay for their own gas.

No more state provided vehicles or gas. No free charging if its an electric vehicle.

In fact, those same elected officials must only drive electric vehicles. They will not be provided with a state provided electric vehicle or a driver.

What????? But they said it would!
Voters failed to understand what the Prop said about the CA Lottery. It said the Lottery would ‘supplant’ public school fundIng. That’s totally different than adding any additional funding. CA voters were duped again.

Gas taxes , just like most other taxes , ends up in the General Fund . The General Fund pays salaries and pensions . Years ago , John and Ken on KFI had Kamala’s boss , Willy Brown on as guest , he stated out of every $1 collected in taxes , $.80 goes back out in salaries and pensions ! Let that sink in . Research Ca unfunded pension liability .

Maybe I just should start running red dye in my dodge. I never got dipped in my 90 f-250 4x4 x cab.

Roads still suck. CHP is doing law work in Bakersfield now, why not run red dye….

Red dye. . . non taxed fuel that farmers/ranchers/etc use. Same as regular diesel but not taxed. Just died red in-case some govm't G-man comes to your farm and wants to inspect that you ain't putting in your daily driver and only the John Deere.

Oh I know what it is. I have 2000 gallons on hand.

an empty bottle of atf in the truck bed just could be the reason why my fuel is red though. 🤣

Truth… California voters voted this twice so blame the voters and no one else it’s even worse for diesel much worse and it never ends in theory. If you do the math you can go to $1000 a gallon.

At some point us Republicans have to organize and take action to get the rest of these people in California to vote a different way.
NO new taxes would force the state to stop giving people free stuff to get the votes. But no matter what we have to get involved and make
one last effort to win back the Legislature.

Good luck!

California is the same as Colorado.

CA= LA & SF out voting the rest of the state.

CO= Denver & Boulder out voting the rest of the state.

Nevada is similar. . .

When I hear things like this, I wonder if this might finally be the last straw before voters toss the dem bums out on their ear. Sad that the good people of CA continue to vote for this kind of abuse.

This kind of thing makes me think maybe just maybe Chad Bianco could get elected.

Not that I have a CA vote, but it would be nice to see.

And Washington, with King County (Seattle) out voting the rest of the state. Seems to be a common theme.

Not sure how you guys continue to live there. Florida, Texas, Arizona if you need the heat. Missouri if you need the boating-anywhere but the land of tax and regulations. Its a shame that citizens have given their employees enough power to ruin that beautiful piece of our country.

The state is broke it's no coincidence that a new carb report comes out the same time as the budget proposing new taxes on gasoline. This will definitely happen.
I noticed that cuts to homeless programs was part of Gavin's effort to balance the budget. The idiot Voters just passed the Prop to increase funding on homeless and mental illness. So put the newly borrowed money into the system, and take the same amount out of the budget. Just like how the lottery works for schools. This state SUX.
