Always interesting when someone slams the door on the way out, I always thought C-Ya posts were solid. For the most part I've had a positive experience on RDP, refinanced my home through a member, sold many things to members, bought many things from members, had my shop built by a member, bought emergency food supplies through Dave, members helped my son become a future electrician, members providing professional services for my home in Havasu, the board keeps me up on current events, we talk bullshit back and forth like dudes do (and girls), RDP Realty (Stacy is the hero, she should walk around with a cape on) is helping sell my uncles house that passed away and many lots scattered over AZ and Im sure there are so many other things to mention. Dave runs these boards with so much honesty and tolerance. So for me maybe it is just the way you look at things. You can either look for the good or the bad, what is your focus? mine is the good....

It’s an interesting line we have to walk between freedom of speech and dealing with negativity..

I know a lot of people are very on edge leading up to and even post election. The country continues to be polarized between the sane and the mentally ill for lack of a better term..

With inflation it is hitting some people very hard and others not at all which also reflects in the community etc.

I personally love the Florida threads and I am bummed that I won’t be going to Miami this year or I’d hooked up with you for drinks.

To sum it up rdp is SUPPOSED TO be the trip threads and boat pics and custom builds of anything you can think of.. pretty much everything else depending on what it is, is either icing on the cake or noise..

I’d say I’m sad to see ya go but I have ran this place so long and know the psychology of the members well enough to know that we will be seeing ya soon.. ;)

What I find weird is he says RDP is a Havasu/Parker west coast forum, it's far from it. We have boating content from west coast to Alaska to Florida to Australia to Europe to..., hell we had a thread that had a boat start on the west coast and end on the east coast that went through the Panama Canal after evading the Mexican Navy🤣. I really liked seeing the Florida content and I'm gonna miss it.

Maybe you could lure him back with a free membership for a year🤣

Having once watched RDP cover the DS Street Party, LIve on a Internet feed from the DS Street Fair, with Mini Kat doing the commentary from his skate board. while we were watching from dockside in F’n Bahrain while in the ME, I’m Stayin’. Not perfect, but not too bad. Thanks to RD and crew.,

@C-Ya
Enjoy your time doing what YOU want to do.

I know multiple folks who stopped posting for the same reasons you are.

If you decide to post again, great - you made some great threads about FL boating, etc.

Go enjoy spoiling that grandchild!

I'm not sure why anyone is posting here expecting him to read it. It's pretty clear he’s not here now nor will he be here. Reading comprehension is a must.
Same goes with reading comprehension. A lot of people don't understand.

I told myself not to open this post before it was posted but here I am ...

I left RDP for several years and I can honestly say this place hits different for me since posting again.

I read but don't reply much these days.

There is a wealth of info here so read when you can and sit out the stuff that might irritate you.

This will shorten your time on here and help the wife out a bit.

I would bet he's reading.

You are actually 180 degrees backwards.. lol.

Every time there has been one of these posts the OP comes back to check on it, and then through the process of repetition ends up coming back to rdp..

The suicide threads as they are called are more of a Grievance with regard to something that is bothering them on the forum then they are an actual I’m outta here post.. well historically speaking anyways.

Will miss your posts C-Ya.
Always liked reading and seeing pics of how the other side boats.
People can learn a lot from you and wish that you will continue to share when (if) you feel the time is ever right again.

May I suggest you leave some sort of contact info should any of us want/need to get in touch with you in the future. Dave would be a good gatekeeper for that. He could forward any message to you while protecting your anonymity. Just a thought.

Take the time you need. Maybe come back and lurk a bit. Learn not to read all the comments or replies and if you do--know they are just someone else; s asshole, I mean opinion. I dont know how social media or public figures can withstand so much scrutiny--I sure could not.

Fair winds and following seas Sailor.
I have his contact #

Been on forums for 20 years now and can't help but chuckle a bit at these suicide post. You're really going to let someone(s) on the internet you've never met or don't know a thing about live in your head rent free? Grow some thicker skin and pick and choose your battles... you don't have to fight every god damn battle and at the end of the day it's the internet.

Enjoyed your posts! BTW, not sure how people live in the path of hurricanes and want to jump in sticky salt water🤔....When it gets hot here, I either jump in the river or go inside!!!! :)

They are the ones that crap on your thread by the 10th post.

Usually posting something that has nothing to do with the subject of your thread they reach in their depends, roll a ball of shit and fling it.

Maybe your wife is fun and attractive and theirs isn’t.
Maybe you have a nicer boat or truck or had a fun trip and they never do.

Jealousy comes in many forms.
Use the ignore feature and move on.
To assholes, forums are a cowards blood sport.

The good people on RDP feel fine in their own skin and appreciate others that do too.

Come in for their camaraderie and flush the turds with the ignore feature.

😂😂

That was a LOT of typing and a lot work to get one more point across.

RDP has a lot cool people who actually help other people that makes it great place. If certain topics bother you then don't read them or just sign off and leave.

Funny how grown men have to make these exits like a Father leaving the family or a CEO exiting a business.

It's an internet forum " Lighten up Francis "

The proper method for social media suicide is to change your user name to some random word salad and reset your password to a random unrecognizable code that you won't remember and walk away. This strategy successfully ended my long relationship with Pirate4x4. When I took a years long sabbatical from RDP I simply lost interest, so I mostly just got out of habit of participation.

I'm leaving threads are often like calling a hotline, or making a teenage threat to your parents you would be better of dead. The difference is in the social space you have half the people handing you the rope.

This place only works if people participate and get value out of it in return. I don't envy the balancing act that a forum owner must navigate to keep the ship on the correct heading. It is a shame when people feel they are personally attacked in what should be a friendly space.

@C-Ya is one of several friends that I have met through RDP. Last year our family went to Pompano Beach for spring break, and I reached out to him for some suggestions on where to stay, things to do, etc. When we got to our hotel, he came over and picked me up in his green machine golf cart, gave me a tour of the area, and then told me to take his car to buy groceries, etc to keep in our hotel while we were in town and bring it back whenever I was finished with it. This was the first time I had met him and I appreciated how generous and helpful he was.

He offered to take us out on his boat one day and we took him up on it. He gave us a great ride in the ocean down to Ft Lauderdale where we stopped for a good lunch, and then back up the intracoastal where he gave us a great tour of the boats, homes, etc in S Fl. We had such a great time that when he offered to take us out to Lake Boca a couple of days later, we jumped at the chance and had another great day. He is one of the good guys, and hopefully will come back and resume posting eventually. If not, then we will stay in touch via text/calls.

There's only a couple people in my life who could personally attack me.

Internet strangers? LOL
Like I said, it is a shame when people FEEL they are personally attacked.

As someone said, internet forums are blood sport and they have been that way a long time. When you get in the pool it is more water polo than synchronized swimming.

A lot of truth to this.

At our country club, if you dont pay your bill, your name gets posted on a board. I have to imagine that is rather embarrassing. It's your last opportunity to correct it before the membership says C-Ya.

Also, if you get out of line, maybe drink too much and make a fool of yourself, or dont follow the dress code, you get a "Do Better Letter"

There are members on this forum who can do better. Many for the reasons TPC outlines. Maybe there can be a thread or "Board" calling em out 🤣

If I had millions, no way in hell would I take the time to waste on this or any other social media. I am hoping he is taking the advice to come see his grandchild in AZ and take a break from this nonsense. An awakening of what's important.

But RD is right, "they always come back"! 😆

There are plenty, with millions wasting their time here. Now, if I had billions, I'd be too busy wasting time elsewhere.

Once in a while RD will post a thread about the problem posters, the thread crappers on the boards.
The turds never respond nor post anything in that thread, they know who they are.

I foresee myself with MULTIPLE homes all over the world, my family loves it, . We would be a jet setting family as my girls are homeschooled anyways. Especially if I was more advanced in age, even now I feel like days are limited.
