We been here since 2002 and except for some inconveniences like limited this and that I much preferred it compared to todays crowded conditions, especially when the "birds" are here  But whatcha gonna do, its progress so accept it or find another spot I guess and that aint happening.
Still much better than So Cal !!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to Bunker Bar from Topock yesterday around 1pm. The ride there was great, weather was perfect. Came into parking area, and holy hell. Never seen it that crowded. We were supposed to meet 2 sets of friends who texted and said they left because it was so crowded.
We were able to get 3 tables, fairly quickly and had room for all of us. Beer line took about 15 minutes, so not too bad.
Ride home was horrible, Sacramento wash had no breeze at all, and tons of SXS headed back towards Havasu. It was almost non drivable for a while because of the dust and being worried about a head on. We hung a right a the double power lines and crossed the RR tracks and it was back to smooth sailing.

I'm in one of your pictures @RiverDave That place was packed. I have to give a positive review of the food vendor; it was surprisingly quick to get an order, and I think the food line was longer than the wait for the order. However, the beverage line was terrible.

My biggest complaint was people holding seats with no one sitting in them. We asked three groups with multiple empty chairs at their tables if we could join them to eat our lunch. (two of us) All turned us away. If you look closely, I'm sitting in the dirt under the drone wing against the fence, eating my burger.

I expected it to be packed, but that was over the top.
Jeff, they sure do a good job with the food. When we went there they told us it was going to be longer of a wait. I think it was an hour and it only took about 30 minutes. I will have to ”Where’s Waldo“ you in Dave’s picks.

That is the millions $$$ question. I’d think it would not be as crowded. Bunker is close to a big town and easier to get to. I don’t recall as many SXS last year. This year it was non stop all over town with rather large groups. Still a blast at this point for us so some of you guys running for year got to stop coming so we can get our time in. :looking:

That is shocking to me someone wouldn’t let ya sit to eat your lunch? Terrible..

Went to bunker bar yesterday, got there early and had the havasu party bus take our clan. We had a great time but the lines were really long.

Went to Bunker Bar with @satellitemike @HNL2LHC @Jumppack JB this afternoon.
Fun ride, pretty busy on the trails and crazy busy at the bar. The bar and food team kicked ass. I expected hour long lines. Drinks were quick. Food was a little slower but pretty good for the middle of nowhere as the lady behind me reminded us.

No. If they actually rode. Instead of drove.

We always rode single track on bikes, didn't care much for riding roads or jeep trails..... even 20 years ago the jeep trails were always whooped out and shitty to ride.

Problem is now the SxS's are cutting new trails in a LOT of areas that were never there before.

From what I see it's the dirt bikes that are making all the trails and tearing the hills up !!
Hill climbs... maybe. But those aren't in an area where you'd be crossing them and most of those trails aren't where the majority of riders go. The double tracks in the middle of the flat that end up 6 to 8 inches deep after one group goes through is FAR more of a problem.

Without sxs’s there would be no Bunker bar!

jeeps and quads would not keep that Bar open!

you need volume of people or $$$ and the sxs crowd does it!

i have 2 jeeps 2 quads and 3 Bikes and 1 sxs

the sxs has been to there bar 15 times, Jeep twice and down the graded dirt road both times!

Yep, it's a double edged sword.

If you don't like the crowded riding areas, ride areas that aren't are more desolate. There is a ton of desert out there.

So do rollbar boat owners. Everybody else.... not so much. They chew up the Terrain like a wake board boat too.
Circle of life in the desert

SXS chew up the dirt for what, Dirt bikes ?

Dirt bikes chew up the dirt for mountain bikes.

Mountain bikes chew up the dirt for hikers

Jeeps, trucks, SXS, quads and bikes something is always chewing up the trails.

Wait.....no one is drinking and off roading are they? 🤔😂😂😂
I’m shocked the BLM Rangers and Highway Patrol haven’t figured out this easy revenue stream yet, lol.

I’m not surprised by this crowd at BB. There seems to be a ton of people in town this weekend for Thanksgiving. I got stuck in a traffic jam on Hwy 95 on Friday that was close to 1/4 mile long. You don’t see that in the summer!

SxS's do it on such a higher level it just gives the evironuts more ammo to close stuff down. Along with making the riding that much better for everyone. Just like a wake board boat does to the water.

In the middle of nowhere Boardmanville managed just fine decades before quads & SxS's. Difference now being anyone can finance & purchase a SxS. There are tons of folks that never off-roaded before the advent of SxS's.

Interest perspective.
I hike in an area now desigated a "Preserve" for hikers and bicycles near my home. Growing up it was my offroad playground. Lol, the enviro-nuts have gone around blocking natural areas and keeping folks on indigenous trails to reduce impact. I laugh all the time at these signs because there are many of these "indigenous" trails I blazed as a kid with bicycle and a machete in late 60s through the 70s.
One observation I've made is the fat tire mnt bikes tear up the ground way worse than I ever did on my motorcycles. These mnt bikers tend to go off trail to hit some jumps or whoops or whatever.
I see the same tendencies on the Island walk/bike trail in Havasu......blazing a trail across landscaping.

Same at home for us with the E-fat tire bikes. It started in the strawberry fields around the corner. Mini tracks with some berms and small jumps. Looked like someone was having fun. Thought it was pretty cool. The last couple weeks they started blazing through the ice plant and ivy along the walking trails. SOB.

Okay, since we've taken a crowd at a desert bar, and turned it into "sxs ruin the desert trails just like wake board boats ruin the water", I'll bite. I don't recall the lake being rough the day after, or even five minutes after my wake boat drove through it. Go ahead, come back with the dock damage lasts, etc. The lakes I board on aren't quite as narrow and populated as Havasu/Parker. I had a houseboat at Billy Chinook for 11 years, my rollbar Malibu was docked there as well. No damage to either in all that time. Not an issue. The evil rollbar boat syndrome doesn't seem to exist everywhere. I agree, in the Parker strip & similar areas, a boat shouldn't have 6000 lbs. of ballast going, wedge down, 11 mph. That's not the place, but, it's back to the owner of the thing not knowing or, not caring ?? I've had way too many hours pulling wakeboarders and surfers, great times teaching kids, seeing the smiles on their faces, their confidence when they improve to consider my activities evil and stupid. I've also spent hours with adults behind the boat with yes, lots of adult beverages on board, heavy bass, loud ass music coming out of the tower speakers, enjoying the shit out of myself, making memories, taking pictures, to consider it a bad thing. My docks and boats suffered no damage, nor, did I damage anyone else's dock, or swamp anyone's boat. It's the owner, not the boat. If I see a low profile boat sitting up ahead, I turn around, or at least give them a very wide berth. To say it's the boat, it's like saying these crazy shootings going on is the fault of the gun. My personal pet peeve are the idiots in the "generic" I/O boats, pulling a tuber, that get in my wake, right behind my kid that's riding a wakeboard. These morons are spending 80% of their time looking behind them at the tube. They're not going to react in time if my kid falls. I get really pissed, out of fear for my kid. So, I guess I should rant about Seaswirl and Reinell I/O boats, and how they shouldn't be allowed on the lake??!! It's not the boat, it's the moron! Totally different issue than a sxs in the desert. Sxs owners aren't morons whatsoever, but, apparently the sxs whoops up the dirt more than other ORVs. That's just kind of a fact we'll have to live with, as I am confident that we don't want any talk of regulating off road travel, as, before we know it, we'll be regulated.

Thanksgiving weekend is the busiest off road weekend of the year. All destination rides in California and Arizona are going to be packed! Been this way as long as I remember.

Yep, it's a double edged sword.

You two ass-hats need to stop making sense. This is RDP. There will be none of that bullshit on here! 👎👎

And that is the reason I stopped going to the Bunker Bar.
It's also the reason many of us Parker peeps gave up on the Desert Bar. Open at noon, close at Dusk... stand in line for 3 hours of it.

Last time we tailgated and drank our own beer until our dirt bikers showed. Then split.

They are the PWC's of the Desert, Period.

For a guy running a Jeep they absolutely suck to be around. I feel like I'm on a mountain road trying to find a turn out to let Mr 10'000 candle power of impatience go around.

Wonder if Jeanie is still living the Blythe Life? Miss ole Boardmanville.
