Burbank to Las Vegas. I just booked for April at $239 roundtrip. I get to the airport about 50 minutes before my flight and with TSA precheck, it takes no time to go through security. I would never take this train. I guess if you live in Victorville or surrounding areas it might make sense. Probably not lol.

If you're in victorville, you're already past the shitty part with all the traffic....would take less time and headache to just drive to LV rather than drive to the train station, have your shit broken into while you're gone, wait, get off the train...wait for a ride or a rental car, etc...

This will be OK for old people with nothing better to do who don't like driving, but that's it.

They're saying that tickets will be $400 roundtrip. That's insane. Why would anyone take a train when you can fly for the same price or less?

Just saw this today, and I thought to myself "well that's not gonna workout very well".

I think it needs to be $199 roundtrip or less. I guess they'll start high and see what sticks.
I flew round trip to Vegas from Long Beach for the Sema / AAPEX show last year for $149....yeah...they're gonna need to work on that $400 price point a bit.

Supply and demand.
They have to start somewhere and if at $400 they will find out quick if it is overpriced.

Seems typical of Vegas, I think the cost should be a little lower for a RT ticket. Vegas is basically a Southern California suburb. I actually forsee this train actually being successful vs the LA to SF one.

At a $400 price point however this project will stay idle.

I don’t think the $400 ticket will deter anybody ,
people already fork over resort fees , parking fees , city and county tax , exorbitant hotel and dinner costs , they’re all pre-conditioned .

Does this Rancho Cucamonga station already exist? How many people will this train carry? Are you just buying a seat or will there be economy, coach, first class etc?

You only get the $239 when booking in advance. If the $400 is not an advance booking then it might get some traction. But coming from the valley it doesn’t make sense.

I just paid $800 for an Oakland same in SW from Ontario. Would have been cheaper with JSX but a drive to Burbank would suck from the IE in the am.

Air travel is getting more and more expensive.

Yeah, I've got BUR/LAS wired.. Valet the car, quickly pass through TSA Pre with my backpack, to the bar for a drink, then board the plane. When I land an hour later I don't waste anytime with Uber or Lyft, I go right to the Taxi line and hop in a cab and I'm at the hotel in 20 mins. Uber and Lyft are a joke now... When you get back to BUR hit the Valet parking machine in the terminal, by the time you walk across the street your car should almost be there. Then a 40 min drive home.. And so much safer than driving the 15/210/405/101.

I actually think you might be a little wrong on this one. I would say a larger percentage are coming here and staying with family off the strip. The train makes more sense for that type of situation vs weekend warriors.

Ok so this shit is being built in my back yard. Every Tom Dick and Harry think it’s going to be the savior of the High Desert and will bring jobs and business to the areas.

Go ahead and time stamp this shit right now.

5yrs from now this will either not be finished or out of business. Mark my words.

Zero chance a family of 4 is paying $1600 to go to Vegas and take 3hrs. You can do it for less by plane or be an hour longer by car for $100.

Going to be a flop 💯

You know CA started building another train in 2008. Don’t worry it’s over budget by like 3x and won’t be done until 2033 🤣🤣🤣

Meh.... get your retired parents to live about a mile from Burbank, head to their house a couple hours before with their grandkids, they drop you off. Then the return is the opposite works wonderfully.

Why you racist ese?

But if the tickets are really going to be as expensive as the rumors only the rich will be riding the train when their private jet is down for maintenance 🤣

Birghtlines high speed train in FL is $139 roundtrip from Miami to Orlando traveling on Friday and Sunday.
I guess only time will tell where prices will be in 4 or 5 years.

That’s getting close to affordable for the average Joe.

But does that train only beat the drive time by 1hr like the LA to Vegas line?

Right now you can fly from LA to Vegas for $61 via spirit round trip.

Or $114 United round trip.

Between time at both airports you are about the same travel time.

You must be booking week(s) in advance for those prices...

Of course but who buys a flight the day before?
( we are already shopping our flights for July and October)

Besides this train is the best thing since sliced bread it will be sold out so you would have to buy those tickets weeks in advance as well🤣

I assume it’s going to be the same style as the Central Valley high speed rail? At least it’s going to Vegas!! 🤣🤣 The high speed rail project I still have to take a greyhound over the grapevine… that is if I’m still alive when it’s finished lmao.

Here’s some pics to get everyone fired up. I travel this section of the 43 often took theses today. Insane the amount of time and money going into this.

More like 2-3 days in advance, but less than a week.

Guess I'm the unlucky one who cannot plan trips that far out....

We have paid for a cruise this summer but I took out insurance incase we cannot make it, and wont book those flights to Galveston till I know I'm good to go. Work always gets in the way.

You see my DC trip a month ago....it was booked less than a week before we left. Got to take the time when it presents its self....

This train does nothing for me as I'm not a Vegas person, I only go when its work related... Hopefully its successful, but it needs to be competitive (cheaper than flying)

Now, when is the train supposed to be operational to LAX?, I could see myself using that.... We do need more mas transit options, but again it needs to be priced correctly (like Europe)

So in your case you’re unable to plan ahead. So that would be the same scenario for booking the train. I’m sure tickets won’t be a flat fee. So prices would vary just like flights.

The flights that take the same time for similar price.

I’m sure ticket prices will be pro-rated per your income much like our electricity bill. More typical bleeding libtard shit.

Because that’s the type of dumb shit these politicians do..and is complete bullshit to have your income dictate your monthly bill. Why is it that if we make more money than someone else,we should pay a different higher rate..

Racist? Did I say anything about color "ese"? So, it doesn't sound like the tickets are going to be that expensive to me.
