Just out of curiosity, how much do they typically go for used? A buddy of mine has one and it hasn't seen water for years now.

Steve

Well that depends.. LOL If your selling it to me 500 bucks sound right? :D

Seriously though it's all over the board.

Here's what I would pay for a 10'er as well as what I have paid.. These are just my opinions so take it for what it is..

For a shitbox bare hull that needs a complete regel I paid - 300.00 for my new one. I have 2100.00 into it right now and would value it at less then a 1000.00 bucks. (this is not including the new trailer etc..) Maybe worth 600 - 1000 depending on the buyer.

This is the pic of the hull I got for 300.00 bucks.. This pic is AFTER it was derigged and sanded on.. It looked like total dogshit before.

attachment.php

For my old one that needed a 3' crack in the bottom of it, rotted interior but a running motor I paid 500.00 for, it was REAL ROUGH though.

This is a pic of the one I paid 500.00 for out of northern california.

OriginalDeck.jpg

I put about 11K and 3 years of my life into it though and this was the final result. It sold for 16K at the height of the market.

Click the link to see pics
http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/galleries/Bubbles/Photo Shoot/index.html

I'd say if it's in perfect condition the boat was dolled up and ready to run with the motor clamped on anywhere from 4 - 6 grand.. 6 grand being in real good condition and pretty trick or stands out in a crowd. I.E. some girl has a pink one she is selling and it's "unique" so it's worth 5 - 6 in my mind.

If it's all tricked out with power trim, stand off box cool little trailer etc.. maybe 5 - 8 grand if you find the right guy that's looking to buy a boat and not mess with it.

For one like Boat211's I wouldn't even know.. I thinks his price is more then fair for it at 12K right now though, the only reason it's not worth more is because the market sucks right now. At the height of the market when I sold mine he could've easily gotten more for his if he found the right buyer. For right now though I wouldn't even consider selling it for less then 12.

http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1453&highlight=Schiada

If it's in "ok" condition 2500 - 3500'ish and runs well and is ready for the water.

If it's a shitbox but the motor runs 1000 - 2500.

Dylan just picked up that yellow one for dirt cheap though, so occasionally you can find em cheap! :D I'd value his in the 2500 - 3000 range as it sits judging by the pics.

Those are all just my opinions though, and honestly with these little boats it's kind of a "case by case" basis.. And as always opinions will vary.

Will do. Today I doweled all of the holes in the stringers. After that, got busy on block-sanding the floors. THAT is a real pain in the ass!!! :smackbum: Going to be worth it in the end tho!! I'll take some more pictures of the progress tomorrow after work and post em up. :D

RD, what kind of trailer are you doing for the 12'er? Same setup? Is Schiada building that one now too? I can't imagine how much these trailers are going to cost based on typical Schiada pricing. It sure is going to look bitchin though!! Can't wait to see more pics of the 10, 12, and trailers.

The 12'er is a triple axle on golf cart tires as opposed to a tandom for the 10'er.. They are building that one right now as well. :) Both of them have some crazy unique one off suspension on them.. Off setting and raising springs or something? I dunno.. I haven't seen it yet, but Stan assures me it's going to be off the hook. :) :D

Looking at the pics of the orange boat on my trailer... I should've stepped the wheel size down from 12's to 10's and done a triple on the 10'er as well. LOL

If I ever build a 2nd 10'er I'll probably do that.

Did you see the thread TBI posted in the lounge? There's one of those deals for sale on PB somewhere.. TBI posted a pic of it and a link to the thread. Something like "Big Red Mini Outboard"

I think I could've pulled it off with 10 inch wheels and low pro tires.. The 12's look the part though. :)

The 12's look bitchin. I was just curious how well they tow if you have to go a longer distance? Probably better than the skinny crappy tires most of them have. I have a 10' with a crappy trailer. Just trying to get ideas when I start spending money on the thing.

These are just getting towed around the keys in Parker.. If I wanted to go long distances I'll just throw them on my car hauler.

A friend of mine was over at Schiada today for something and took these on his cell phone. :)

The worlds first flat deck 10'er.. They are getting it ready for gel last I heard. :) I told them I'm in no hurry on these things so they are working on it whenever time permits.

What's the intent of filling in the well? How do you plan to mount the motor and what kind of power are you going with on the 10'er and the 12'er? It looks good, just curious on the intent.

The wells are so you can "clamp" the small motors onto the back of the boats..

Both of these boats will be using small stand off boxes that are through bolted through the transom like a large outboard setup. So no need for the well.

To me when a boat has a well it always looks like a fishing boat, so had them cut it out and make it flat to make it look better. :)

Got a call today that the 10' trailer is just about done. :) It's SLAMMED with drop spindles notched frame to clear the suspension etc..

Stan said he's working on getting some pics over to me. The rear cross member is 4 inches off the ground, and the frame comes to the middle of your shin. :D

Some pics of the trailer.. They notched the main rails to get it lower. ;) Also usually with leafs you can't get the axles that close together.. I'm not quite sure how they pulled that one off, but they did. The rear cross member is 4 inches off the ground. When the trailer sits flat the main rails go to about the middle of your shin. :D

Looks bitchen so far Dave. And so you know, they got the wheels closer by using a tandem slipper spring set-up instead of the more standard rocker system. The one below is a standard rocker style.

Does that mean Schiada is done with it? My 10 is t paint right now and gonna need a trailer next. Wasn't sure if Schiada could knock another one out now that they have the templates?

Schiada is done with the 10' Trailer, and up next is the 12' trailer. :)

I don't know that they actually "template" a little trailer like this.. I think Mike just built it one off. I'm sure they could do it again easy enough though? If your plannin on actually towing yours though, I'd probably ditch the idea of golf cart tires etc.. I'd do one more like my old one on big tires.

I would post pic sof mine but you guys would all laugh. I was so excited when I saw it on ebay i just bought it. I overlooked how much work it was going to need. Oh well I have it and im almost done with the glass work. Doing it all myself so its rewarding. I understand why glass work is so expensive now. Andy Anderson will agree how mine was a total POS as he went with me to pick it up. We even towed it through the Taco bell drive thru on the way home becauee it was our lunch break at the time. LOL! Yours looks great Dave!

My 1st one I built had a 3 - 4' crack in the bottom.. and had sat outside for probably 10 years uncovered.. LOL

This one was almost as big of piece of shit when I bought it.. Just didn't have the crack in the bottom. Those 1st pics are a little misleading, and make it look better than it was. LOL

Well mine was 100 times worse than what you said about your first one. I found the history of mine out becasuse I had to track down the last 2 owners of the boat. I had to do that because it had a bank lean on it and I couldnt put it in my name because of it. I then talked to the last 2 owners and the guy who I bought it from found it at a yard sale. The guy that sold it at the yard sale bought it from a boat rental place who would rent it out to kids and stuff at havasu. You can only imagine how it was driven and taken care of at a rental place. I guess it had been run up on the rocks and left in a back yard off of the trailer leaning up against a fence for 10+ years. Needless to say it had rain water in it and the transom rotted out. Not to mention the 2 1 foot wide by 2.5 foot holes in the bottom of it from the rocks it had been run up on. So I am almost done with the glass work finally. I was surprised a rental place ended up on it because Lee remembered the boat because he layed it up with Bolsa as a race boat. I guess they had an enduro for these things back in the day.

He was also telling me that hade thousands of 10 footers over the years. I asked where they all were and I guess he shipped them all overseas because they loved them over there.

Like I said earlier, I was so excited to finally have the opportunity to own one I overlooked how bad of shape the boat was in LOL! Oh well its taking me forever but will be done soon.

Teryx to match the boat(s). All the boats will match the 21.

Down the road I'll look for a set of rims that match the trailers as well.
