long story there, but the short version is that has evolved into this project with time, money and the right people behind itDid anything ever become of that other road course out there or is it basically abandoned? I'm talking about the one due south of the Stagecoach Trails Guest Ranch.
Great idea, but Yucca? Who's going there? Sounded great until you said that. Kinda like the race track just outside of Desert Center, location is everything.
Beat me to it! 1/4 mile with a proper shutdown area please!1000 ft drag strips?
40 miles! I'm just saying if it was in Havasu it would go off. I wish it all the best.yucca is literally right beside Havasu. It’s not far at all
Isn't it mainly just booked with car clubs? I don't know of anyone who just goes for a few hours to watch, but maybe I'm wrong.the track in desert center is booked 52 weekends an year so not doing bad out there.

Isn't it booked all year with car clubs? Not 100's of people coming to watch races and drink beer?Every person that wants to go to a racetrack will go there
Chuckwalla is booked all the time except the summer lol.
It was Scott Kalittas death at Englishtown in 08, not Denver. Most of the big tracks were built before these fuel cars were going 300 mph and the shutdown is much shorter. You can have a longer track and race shorter for the record.
In the thousand foot racing in top fuel came about because of the death in Denver because of the short ass track with a very short shut down. If that track had been longer that guy might have lived. Food for thought.

the current trend is for the 1k' tracks because it is what the NHRA top fuel classes run now and eventually where all classes are heading due to speeds, with the 1/8mi being the trending standard for the pro mods and lower classes. you kind of have to do what all the sanctioning bodies want if you want to be a sanctioned track
I will say this...
I LIVED at Irwindale when I was a kid. (There real Irwindale Raceway, not the pos that is there now).
Tuesday night was Speedway. Wednesday night was bracket racing. Thursday was testing. Friday and Saturday were qualifying and Sunday was racing.
There was something going on just about every night of the week, and it was always a blast.
It gave us dumb kids something to do pretty much all of the time.
Pomona and Vegas get 2 top fuel races a year?
Food for thought. Congrats on an awesome project!
With all the Older Hot Rodders in the area, I would Love to see some type of the "Pamona Swap Meet" once in a while. anything Auto,Boat related would be great!!
We raced motoX at Irwindale every week also in the 70's.I will say this...

I thought they had motoX there too, but I wasn't 100 percent positive, so I left that part out.
I probably watched you ride at some point.
Loved that place. Broke my heart when they tore it down.

I am about to give you all a Christmas present sort of...LOL
we'll other than my 16-18 hour days trying to keep up with Havasu's Crazy building boom with 6 builders and 3 major sub-divisions, I have been filling my 2am-4am time slot with this.......The Mohave County Motor Sports park yes it's happening, The red tape has been cut and we are moving forward on what I hope to be a premier motorsports park when we are done. The land is Acquired, rezone to motor sports use approved, civil and site plans in the design process now. I am excited to keep meeting racing's elite for their input and guidance and hopefully get them excited about it as a place they want to come race. So far we have dual 1kft drag strips, road course, dirt course(SXS and M/C), short course, small ovals for the midgets and legends and so on, the current design may change greatly as sought out professional input and guidance suggests.. please note the key words here "PROFESSIONAL INPUT" LOL, attached is a screen shot from my PC so you know it's real, those that know me know I am a straight shooter and those that really know me know I wouldn't waste a second on something I didn't already know has a profitable out come. it's going to take a few years and this maybe my last big project before retirement but what a way to end with crowning achievement like this and something I am so passionate about, when your skill set and hobby cross paths only good things can come of it. SO HERE IT IS REV1 OF THE MOHAVE COUNTY MOTORSPORTS PARK.

The Lord called someone home. like I said long story but the sort version is that has turned into this with a much bigger more commercial vision to service the needs of the entire county not just a select few and that much asphalt can provide something we are missing "fair grounds"Karl, cool stuff. I look forward to watching the updates and progress. I think it will do well there.
Not to side track the thread, but what is the deal with the course south of Stagecoach Trails Ranch? Seems like it was very much on its way to being a nice location / course. How do you get that much funding and far along in something and then just abandon it?
sorry got CRS on that LOL, might need to clue me in a bit more. got several of the "She-Sheds" going 3-5rv bays attached to one small houseOn a completely unrelated note...
A few years ago you were talking about a project that had zero lot lines with deep garages with small apartments on the second floor.
Did anything ever come of that? Were any built?

I think you might be referring to these.I thought this was a row of townhouses 30x70 ish with all garage down stairs and living space on second floor
