Only a few more mph 60 vs 63. But I hit the rev limiter so I think shes got a little more to go if we cup the props. I didn't have to use the tabs at all though. Bastard got right on top of the water like it was a 5.0L Bayliner Capri. It was insane how nice the boat rode with minimal inputs... it's no longer a "driver's boat". Now it's an "any yayhoo's" boat if that makes sense

Also, according to CMIs dyno tests, these engines produce 570hp with headers vs the stock manifolds. That's their words

How was it there? We are thinking of checking it out. MAybe even moving our big family/friends trip from pirates to there.

If it’s a big family I wouldn’t go there. Space was small. And we were packed like sardines.. the people that work there are very nice tho. The spots 137 and up are bigger.
I brought my sons 50 since we stayed at pirates a couple weeks prior. And there was nowhere for him to ride he was bummed.
The grass area is nice.

It was cool to see that part of the river tho! Would never have gone up that high if I hadn’t stayed there. but I probably won’t got back.

Dang we really miss the Newport harbor days... Now that we finally grew up and store the boat in AZ we no longer have the harbor days... Always a trade off..

Nice photo shoot by the way!!
Thanks man.... its strange keeping a boat here in that the only out of water [dry storage] options are so far down the harbor that its a 45 minute no wake cruise to get to the ocean. That gets a bit old frankly.... but not complaining. Its a beautiful harbor for sure and entirely man made as well over 100 years ago. Quite an engineering feat, all the islands were created by dredging. Crazy.

Oh man.... that pic of the couple laying on bow of sunken Cig.... bad day but somehow they made it look like, "What are ya gonna do?"
It was actually an Apache, and it was for sale not very long ago. I don’t know the story behind it, but really would like to know.

Great thread ..... I gotta ask.... when you guys side tie ALL those boats like that and you've gotta walk from the ones on the outter bands to get to the dock, isn't that tricky as hell? Even sober it would cause me to struggle I think. What am I missin......?

The 41 Apache "Hammerhead" sank back in 07 or so in St. Tropaz France. Owner was from there. I guess it was in very rough shape (it's difficult to keep a performance boat in shape over seas in any case). The owner however was known for not caring for it very well as all. It was bouy'd up and took on water through the transom. Down she went. Boat was pulled up and sent to Miami to World Famous Apache legend Bob Saccenti who stripped it all the way down and rebuilt it from the stringers up. It was in fact for say a few months back. don't know if it sold but I believe the asking was high 100's to 2 and a quarter.

Some pics in order....

And back up and running hard again. Bob in the port bolster on the throttles with the French owners.

I saw it in Key West a couple years ago. It's VERY impressive in person. Just something about them big'ol nasty resin buckets.

Dang, talk about a re birth.... that must be a special boat to spend the $ to bring that back to life again. I think I might have lit a match or something to that effect, lol.

Apaches are well renowned and respected. They all have their own history, "personality" and mystique about them and they're all one off builds. They have a cult following of fanatics for sure LOL.

Thanks for sharing! That’s a pretty good story to see it resurrected after a submerging. I’ve had that picture forever and always wondered, now I know!

It’s not to bad, the boats are tide tight enough and no wake so they don’t move much at all. I like to walk on the swim racks when I can, walking on people’s interior makes me uneasy especially when they are all nice cigs like that event. Just try to avoid stepping on any fiberglass as it can be slippery.

You have some super cool pix and even more super cool friends! How do you always have the hook up to ride along in these huge bad ass boats?!

The offshore powerboat community is pretty small and pretty tight actually. Bunch of like-minded people that love big go fast boats tend to flock together. I also had a lot of good experiences while blogging and writing a bit for Powerboat Magazine. Got to run in some cool stuff.

Yeah, my guess was stepping on swim steps.... I hate it when folks step on my interior if they don't know to take their shoes off prior.... thats my big pet peeve right there. Even hot chicks get reprimanded for that!

mostly this one. We tend to stay in Heritage (still do) but my buddy has a dock out front of Oak Shores (where this pic is from).

Ok. I'm still trying to figure out if it was you and your wife that was throwing us Jello shots back in '06 or '07 in Las Tablas. Strong chance it was I believe.
