Most if not all organized events regattas etc require proof to participate…

Could you imagine if the Instituted that kind of policy at public ramps like site six? It would be a ghost town lol

That’s why when I read it I was in denial, but they charge to park now, they burned down a cabin last year, I can see this being a thing. I called Pirates but nobody with 3 clues came to the phone, I’ll try again tomorrow. I am hours from boarding a plane to head down and this just got tossed at me. Literally the only reason that thing is in Havasu was to show it at SWFW and this regatta. It’s a super cool piece that has never been seen on the west coast by most until very recently. I wanted people to see it before it gets parked in someone’s garage next to a Schiada, never to see water again! 🤣

So personally for me, its been hit or miss who you get at the counter when you pull up.

Sometimes they ask me for proof of insurance on everything, sometimes they dont. I know its not what you want to hear... I feel like if i'm staying there on the peninsula they ask for RV + boat insurance, but if I just come up to launch, i dont think they've asked.

I will say the last couple of times, they havent asked though.

I didn’t have my insurance card so had to put it off the internet. They don’t have signal there so I had to drive down the frwy. Haha I will never forget my insurance card again.

I watch that Fridays with Frank cop show , out of Phoenix where a couple of cops video and post on YouTube their encounters with pull- overs . I’d say 75% people pulled over Do Not have insurance , or a license , or registration, and usually have a warrant …wtf

Get the five registration option on your hooptie, insure for a month then drop. You still have the 2029 reg sticker on your car.

Boat insurance isn’t even a requirement.
odd they would make you have to launch. Take it across to jack smith and drive down, or topock and drive up
or leave on trailer in front of pirates so people can see there

I stayed at beachcomber and had to show ins for the boat truck and registrations. I had my jet ski but tossed the boat cover over it.

I had to call State Farm and get a card to show before I left home. they just gave me a copy of policy since they didn’t do cards for boats and thought it was an odd request.

Body beach is the place to launch if you’re riding real dirty, but that was a few years ago now

How can they make you have insurance when its not required by law to have it on a boat?
We have been camping at Pirates for the last 20 years since it was Park Moabi. Only ever had to show RV insurance.

Plus CA state parks don’t require insurance to launch a boat, unless it is a commercial vessel. Park Moabi is still a state park, with the vendor concessions being Pirates. I can’t see Pirates going beyond state park requirements.

Just stayed there over the weekend. Any vehicle that crosses the gate (into the actual park) meaning campgrounds and/or boat launch has to show proof of current registration and insurance. I didn't have any dirt toys, so I don't know what the policy is there... but I would assume if your bringing a side by side in their, they are going to require it.

Had to show for RV, boat, and launch vehicle. I thought it was a great place to stay... but judging by the detailed rules and the amount of security they had there, I'm guessing they don't mess around with any riff raff. Just an observation.

What time are the Vectors heading up from Havasu? Wife and I are in town this weekend and would like to check out the hardware.
Not sure, Gary mentioned early, to get spot. I could care less about a spot. Lol
Likely around 10 from Windsor

Not sure if it was mentioned but to rent a slip at the riviera in havasu you need proof of insurance before they’ll let you check in and launch. Happened to me last year on Father’s Day weekend. My insurance was set to renew the same day as our arrival but not until midnight that night! Found out on the ramp not fun! Took an hour to get progressive to update it before midnight because on their end it showed current but not on the system if someone outside of progressive was checking! All the slip rentals go through the Dockwa app.

If its a qtr mile away he would likely be there in less than 10 seconds?
if he has the sack to run it that long. lol. kidding. I put about 30 miles on it during a river trip a few summers ago, but this was the lower river south of Parker on Father's Day weekend. It was rough, but not that rough.
