I followed up on the regatta for this coming weekend and was told I need proof of boat insurance to launch there!? Is this true?
Most if not all organized events regattas etc require proof to participate…I followed up on the regatta for this coming weekend and was told I need proof of boat insurance to launch there!? Is this true?
Not required for regatta. Was told it’s required to use Pirates launch. Most if not all organized events regattas etc require proof to participate…
Could you imagine if they Instituted that kind of policy at public ramps like site six? It would be a ghost town lolNot required for regatta. Was told it’s required to use Pirates launch.

That’s why when I read it I was in denial, but they charge to park now, they burned down a cabin last year, I can see this being a thing. I called Pirates but nobody with 3 clues came to the phone, I’ll try again tomorrow. I am hours from boarding a plane to head down and this just got tossed at me. Literally the only reason that thing is in Havasu was to show it at SWFW and this regatta. It’s a super cool piece that has never been seen on the west coast by most until very recently. I wanted people to see it before it gets parked in someone’s garage next to a Schiada, never to see water again!![]()
I watch that Fridays with Frank cop show , out of Phoenix where a couple of cops video and post on YouTube their encounters with pull- overs . I’d say 75% people pulled over Do Not have insurance , or a license , or registration, and usually have a warrant …wtf
I have a feeling that’s going to become more and more common.I watch that Fridays with Frank cop show , out of Phoenix where a couple of cops video and post on YouTube their encounters with pull- overs . Do you have insurance or not? If you have some just show it.
Done
Absolutely not. To this point, nobody will touch it.
When we camp there and the time we brought our boat we had to show insurance for both.I followed up on the regatta for this coming weekend and was told I need proof of boat insurance to launch there!? Is this true?
What regatta? Connolly?
Launch at Topock and drive over.
It’s like 1/4mile away…I still feel like I might die! This thing is not meant for wakes.
Classic Performance Boats Regatta. Little boat shit.
Isn’t between topock and Pirates a no wake zone anyway?
YesGod dammit.. that’s this weekend?
He can go with, I think there’s 5 vectors all heading up togetherNo way I can make it.. but if ya want I can make ya famous and send michael with you in your boat.
Get a featured boat out of it and cpb regatta footage

The deck moves around a bit when you crush wakes but go slow enough and you should be able to make it. lolI still feel like I might die! This thing is not meant for wakes. LOL
Lloyds of London will underwrite it lolWell there’s always someone.. it’s just a matter of it’s worth paying.
What time are the Vectors heading up from Havasu? Wife and I are in town this weekend and would like to check out the hardware. He can go with, I think there’s 5 vectors all heading up together
If its a qtr mile away he would likely be there in less than 10 seconds? The deck moves around a bit when you crush wakes but go slow enough and you should be able to make it. lol
It’s private property…How can they make you have insurance when its not required by law to have it on a boat?
We have been camping at Pirates for the last 20 years since it was Park Moabi. Only ever had to show RV insurance.
OK but do they require offroad insurance as well? It’s private property…
Plus CA state parks don’t require insurance to launch a boat, unless it is a commercial vessel. Park Moabi is still a state park, with the vendor concessions being Pirates. I can’t see Pirates going beyond state park requirements. How can they make you have insurance when its not required by law to have it on a boat?

if he has the sack to run it that long. lol. kidding. I put about 30 miles on it during a river trip a few summers ago, but this was the lower river south of Parker on Father's Day weekend. It was rough, but not that rough. If its a qtr mile away he would likely be there in less than 10 seconds?
