Lickity Spilt went by UCH last year at Desert Storm, pretty boat on the water as well as static. We all waved as they went by, my kids loved the boat.

GodSpeed to all of them. Just heartbreaking.

I was out mowing when Cindy told me Flea had posted about this on facebook, I felt my stomach drop to the ground...
No matter how big it gets boating is a small family made up of people. Performance boaters are part of that family, some are living a dream that many of us look to as inspirational, the absolute culmination of the boating lifestyle.
They are family, and it hurts us all who have a heart when a horrific tragedy like this happens. I didn't personally know these folks but I know a lot of my fellow RDP'ers did. My heart goes out to all of you who are feeling the loss right now in a deeply personal way, and our prayers tonight will be with those who have left us, and their families.

I didn’t know any involved, but I just logged back in to see all of the pictures and catch up because I couldn’t be there. Truly saddened by the news. My thoughts and prayers to everyone involved.

If only there could be a better understanding of why the best of people are taken from this world so suddenly. "LICKITY SPLIT". How many times did we just smile when that boat came thru the Channel?
Rest and Thanks.

This is very very sad. To the families my sincere condolences.
Extremely fast cat boats....take yet another life. It doesn't seem to matter the manufacturer either.
You have to wonder what can be done to make it safer. You lose a drive and barrel roll = HTM Castaic Lake.
You Blow over = Outer Limits Mike Fiore at LOTO. You stuff = Conquest catamaran Chris Lavin (They added safety precautions and canopies then)
But when the boat becomes a plane? Maybe lower speeds aren't such a bad thing after all?

We all have made a choice to operate high performance machinery.

We all understand the risks while we enjoy the freedom of attaining whatever speed we want to. One
of the last bastions of true freedom.

My condolences to those who passed, but remember they passed in the spirit of doing something that
is still free of many restrictions.

If I should pass the same way, I would hope all of you would continue to carry the torch of freedom to
enjoy high performance boats in whatever way we want.

For what it is worth, I very nearly lost my wife to a performance boating accident some years back.
She got right back on that horse and ran it like a pro. Yes, all effort should be made to make it as
safe as possible. But not by imposing limits on what we can do.

I sincerely hope this post comes across as a positive note and does not offend anyone. If so, I
apologize in advance.

I feel the same way. I don't know many personally. But my heart is broken. Such a tragedy. Thoughts and prayers for Brad's wife and the rest of his family and friends

God this is absolutely heartbreaking yet in a whole other way inspiring, god speed to the Lickity Split and friend, and a prayer for his wife family and friends. But inspiring to get off work look at the Fbook and see all the posts and people wishing them all their best then to jump on here to see if any real information and see sadly this tragedy didn’t end well but to see so many with the love and compassion for fellow boaters.

"Similarly, another accident involving Desert Storm participants happened Saturday morning near The Sandbar, away from the organized events, he said. That accident involved a 28-foot Eliminator boat. The Mohave County Sheriff's Department said the victims had minor injuries. "

Appears something else happened at the sandbar...any word on those people? :(
They are fine. It was my friends uncle. Luckily they are all ok

Damn....3 folks woke up in the morning thinking they were going to have a great day. I'm sure all 3 had no idea their day would end like this....Death has taken 2 & a possible survivor who's life will forever be changed, if she can pull through. My thoughts & prayers to the family & all the other RDP peeps out there.

very sad news. RIP
prayers sent to family and friends.

to young to die . die what you love doing.

every time i take a seat in our little fast boats doing hot laps. i know shit can happen, it happens fast.
a thought goes in my head, what if? at the beginning of those runs , it usually passes very quickly. with sure exhilaration of the moment.
by the end of those runs , your exhausted mentally ,
high speed is no joke no matter what your in.
the love of it. has no explanation. just pure joy.
enjoy life , it goes by fast.
