from what I've seen, there was an accident, BLM was investigating. One of the officers was trying to stop traffic, a RZR didn't stop and was driving right at him, he shot. Dumb move on both parties IMO

Not far from my house, I saw it on the news yesterday, and nothing was said about stopping them because of an accident. They said they were in an area where it was illegal to ride UHV's, and because they didn't stop, the officer decided to shoot them... WTF???

Re-Read the article I saw, I orginally misread it. I thought they were investigating another incident and tried to stop this RZR, but now it seems like this RZR was the source of the investigation.

Sounds like a bad shoot for sure

I've raced D-37 events, camped all over the desert in Southern California, rode dirt bikes all over the same area for twenty plus years. I've been stopped by CHP, RCSO, SBCSO, KCSO, USFS Rangers, Fort Irwin MP's, and BLM Rangers. I've never had a bad experience with any except the last one. Every BLM encounter was negative, from their initial greeting, to their demeanor during the encounter, to their attitude when they can't find anything to cite.

Wanna be be cops if you ask me. I'm sure there are some good ones, but the general consensus from just about everyone who has told me a story, is not good.

This is the exact reason I stopped going to the sand dunes. They went rummaging though our camp trash can to find glass bottles on new years eve. Then made threats to arrest everyone in the group. Most of us being public safety knew they were in the wrong.

Most of these guys are people that couldn't get on with a municipal PD, so now they have a chip. There needs to be repercussions for law enforcement writing tickets that get dropped in court.

I, like 28 Eliminator live only a few miles from where this happened. It blows my mind that something like this would ever happen in this area. Sad but a lot of lives are going to change over this one. I too agree that BLM is and has been out of control. As stated before this is one of the main reasons I stopped going to Glamis. Curious to see where this one goes.

Years ago we were riding in Gorman and they pulled that ambush deal on us.

Said we were trying to escape another officer and that officer was on his way to ID us.

I'm like, cool, we can leave when he gets here.

He shows up, points at me and says, yep, that's the guy!

I say...

Fuck you asshole, I've never seen you before in my life! My riding buddy is trying to calm me down, and the idiot BLM guy is backing away looking at me hard.

They made us sit in the sun in the heat of the day while they figured out they Had indeed stopped the wrong guys.

No sorry. No nothing. Just, you can go now and that's that.

I've never had a problem anywhere else but there. Fucking rookies on a power trip. Pisses me off all over again just writing this post! :mad::mad::mad:

I sure hope justice is served in this situation.

BLM is the worst. Everytime we have run into BLM out in the desert it is a shit show. If the guy driving the SXS didn't stop I don't blame him.

The BLM generates about 6bn in revenue mostly through mining and energy production. They have over 300 uniformed officers and that number is growing. Their job is land management they should not be policing. With the amount of money they are bringing in though I can see how they are getting more powerful.

The agent who committed this crime should do jail time. There is no reason to shoot at someone in a SXS unless they are shooting at you.

Coulda been, it was a couple decades ago. I can barely remember what I had for breakfast! LoL

I do remember sitting in the hot sun with full riding gear on though. That I will never forget...

We have a friend who is retired military and he almost shot and killed a couple of rangers at night . They stalked camp on new years and crept in . He thought they were trying to steal something . Shit got real , quick ! There gastopo actions are going to get one of them killed over a fire work , gas can or glass bottle .

Maybe we will get lucky and this will blip on President Trump's radar, with him working on dismantling the EPA, this should align nicely with MAGA!

Prayers to the injured and their family, that is no way to be treated by people who are supposed to be protecting and helping citizens.

Far too often it seems they are overly aggressive and hostile to everyone. This needs to change.

I can see this being true. I’m on the cops side for most stories I see on the news.
But I feel many of them fall very short on the Integrity scale, and most would lie to cover up their fuck-ups.

Yeah, they were in fear. But obviously not probably trained and in the wrong career.

Yes it was a group out of AZ.that had about 30 lawsuits at the time.Why the Feds put up and enforced it was a bad move.

The man hunt they were on was something I had never seen before.The guy was everywhere.Case of mistaken identity.
