Still cookin! A tip, sand your griddle smooth. That bumpy surface isn’t as good as a nice smooth surface.

I’m keeping an eye out on 22” model. These keep going in and out of stock randomly

That’s what I have and love it. It’s just me and my kid but I use it 2-3 times a week.

I just used my 17” electric one for the first time today. It worked awesome. Cleanup is definitely easier.

Good info here on getting a smooth surface

I did mine over the weekend! Needed more Grit sand paper. 100/200. But I've used the shit out of my Blackstone for almost 2 years. Don't wait that long!!! Turned out perfect!

I do the same to my cast iron skillets. Smooth as possible. Then well seasoned. Food rarely sticks.

I want the 22" portable".
I keep one in my RV and it gets used more than any BBQ I ever owned. Treat it like a cast iron pan and you're good to go.
I cut a large plastic cutting board to fit the grill and wrap it with blue disposable shop towels before laying it on top. Keeps it clean when stored in the basement under the RV.

I ended up on the Blackstone site and it looks like they are having some huge clearance sale. I haven't ordered anything, but figured I would share it.

Looks like it is a fake site

I flip the top upside down and put everything inside like when came out of the box.

We keep a 28" in our motorhome . And have the 36" at home . The 36" sits on the back porch with the Treager and the Pit Barrel

Anyone have one and anything you don’t like about it? I feel like I would get a lot more use out of it than my bbq. Most “bbqing” I do in my smoker anyways. Bacon etc all outside on the griddle not making a mess or smelling up the house. I currently have a kenmore 5 burner with a nat gas conversion and it’s in decent shape. I’d probably to the conversion to the griddle as well and I noticed they have a kit which is nice.

One thing I’ve noticed is that people making YouTube videos with em use a LOT of oil or butter. I’m guessing you never want things to stick as it’ll mean a re seasoning. Also what happens to the grill if you don’t use it for a month? Does the oil etc get all nasty and moldy?

I just used mine yesterday, after not using it for a couple months. It was fine. I don't leave a lot of oil on it. I wipe it to a very thin coating.

I did warm it, scrubbed it with paper towels and water, and burned it off for a few minutes, just to be safe for any mold or mildew I couldn't see.

All was good.

So about mold/mildew apparently if you use a NUT based oil, you shouldnt get any of that. i use safflower oil for its high temp. but if you use like vegetable oil, you'll get nasty stuff.

I actually just use Pam spray on it most of the time. I will get some nut based oil.

That’s an ok deal. I paid 148$ and got the stand and big tank adapter hose. Same deal is now 174$. But the stand alone is 99$? So if you just need the griddle that’s pretty good. Do the math. I’m not getting the bag cause that things heavy. Whatever due deligence.

The problem with nut oils is that they can go rancid after a while. I use avocado oil and have never had a problem.

The simple solution to all of this is to use it often. If your excuse is that it is in your camper and you don't go camping that often... well... you aren't camping enough :)

And I have mentioned this before but smash cinnamon rolls are the shiznit.

I use vegetable oil mixed with olive oil 50/50 and can’t say if it’s right or wrong but I have never had any issues in the last year of owning mine. I do however use mine 1-2 times a week.

Anyone have the cutting board accessory for the side shelf? Is it any good? It looks like it fits over a side shelf. For $20 might be worth rolling the dice.
