Yeah, I remember you are a long ways so I didn't think it would get to you I was just wondering how close it was getting
Water was up Into
The dunes last night and this morning for sure. That’s pretty rare to see. Kinda why my golf cart got wet. Water doesn’t usually come up that high.

Today's high tide was a 6.0 tomorrow is a 5.7. Good thing this didn't happen on Tuesday when high tide was a 6.4

Not at all. Harbor is totally chill. Just don’t go out the harbor. 😂

If you actually look out past the sets the water out there is actually very calm. Just a big lumbering swell. No big deal to run in frankly. Just quarter it. I shit you not we ran our top gun out on a day it was 15’ -20’ swells. But they were way spaced out and no wind. We quartered them, no problem. But little unnerving when you drop down into the trough between the swells and you can’t see anything around you but walls of water.
… I know that feeling of you can’t see anything but water around you… My exact thoughts were so this is what death feels like… came out of nowhere…🤷🏽‍♀️

Another crazy video from south end of seaward in Ventura. Fire truck got WORKED!!

Home boy filming acting like it’s the philippean tsunami and shit! lol. Not gonna lie though. I got a little pucker factor going when that wave came up and went under our golf cart. I was like “OH SHIT!” Lol

Don't know if anyone saw the firefighter standing there in turnouts but he stood his ground it was up to his waist and he was still standing when the camera lost view of him, not sure how much longer he stayed up. Shows training keeping a cool head and not panicking prevails. I didn't see it yesterday while watching on my phone but I could clearly see him on my TV this morning.

I saw him standing there too. But the surge was large enough to push parked cars around and slam them into each other. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear he was knocked down. Water was 3’ deep.

I'm sure he was at some point but others were knocked down in a foot of water because of panic

For sure. Like I said. Guy filming that other video on seaward acted like it was the Thailand tsunami and shit! Simmer down panic mode.

I just drive through Pierpont. Place got hammered for sure. Swells not bad today but it’s supposed to be worse than yesterday tomorrow.

The Dunes, out on the spit in front of Morro Bay, were taking hits. That’s different., This must have been one big F’n Pacific storm. Have to wonder, what the sea conditions were within that storm. How many miles offshore was it and when? Mavericks to So Cal is a long stretch of beach.

Talking to my son late yesterday, seems he's landed some work due to an establishment suffering severe damage from these waves in that area. Apparently their electrical panels are filled with sand and Edison has shut off their power.
Not surprised, I figure @hallett21 will be busy as a result of this as well

Beach living at its finest. Sand everywhere.

Our panel
Is actually outside in the elements. It’s crazy. Gets strait rained on. 😳😬

I’m guessing 10-15’ sets in Ventura right now. Heard the swell
Out behind the channel
Islands is 40’! Looking out towards the island I’m guessing they’re 30’. In the pic above that’s the swell, not the islands!!

Poor hallett21, he was last seen beginning his decent into "The Rabbit Hole", I do hope unlike a couple of our peer members, he makes it back with a full deck. 🤣

Rain they are rated for, getting blasted with Salt Water and sand, not one tiny bit. Of course your daily environment of Salty Air and mist is tough on any aluminum, exposed metals, and especially electrical connections, breakers and panel bus bars.
PS: That NEMA 3R rating means it's been 'UL Listed' for falling rain, please don't be tempted to hose the panel off to remove the salt and sand  🤣

I wouldn't want to go anywhere near that harbor entrance with waves like this
When the bar at the Morro Bay harbor entrance is breaking you don’t enter or exit the harbor. Carrying passengers out of there, fishing Albacore, we had a contingency plan to take our people down to Port San Louis, if it wasn’t safe to enter. Fortunately, we never had to do that. 100’ Ditmar Donaldson built boat. Extremely sea worthy and good riding.

I've been out of there once when I was about 13. Going out was fine, coming in there was a 12ish' swell. We were on my dad's friend's commercial fishing boat maybe 40', the roll on that was scary as shit but Bob didn't give two shits, just another day🤣

Whelp. Nothing too exciting. We’re past the high tied mark. No flooding or damage. 👍 lots of media and emergency personnel down the Ventura beach!!
