Doesn’t really matter “who”.
The only thing the figurehead does is keep 300 million people satiated for 4 years.
If the real powers could successfully reduce population by at least half, then population management would be less of an issue and the dog and pony show would simply stop.
That’s what will happen eventually, probably much sooner than later.
But for now they effectively split the population into 2 main groups (parties), thereby creating manageable numbers.

Presidents are basically temporary government employees.
Some, like the pedophile, are lifelong political scum, dialed into the cesspool and money train their entire lives. Others, like say Trump, are from the public arena and are not part of the club. These are the ones that are like a wrench in the gears.
