Why not take the boat to Hallett?

I’ve heard through others that the teak doubled in price after the transition. I haven’t asked myself lately but inquired about the floor months before the LA boat show. The transition was still taking place at that time and busy which is understandable.

You can buy the sheets and do it yourself. Gives you a chance to clean and inspect everything also. I would cut out your tank and inspect the outside for corrosion. Reinstall with rubber and only foam the corners.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I don’t have the room at the house to take on a project like this. I also need to have the coffin style ski locker changed out as it’s needs replacing.

Good info on the tank.

Trying to plan 2018/19 winter update.

What is wrong with the ski locker?

The lip that screws down to the deck were the lid sets in is stressed cracked. When I first bought it I talked to Jim at Hallett about the floor and he said they replace that locker. But at that time they were doing the garage sale before moving in to the new location so he said give them a few months and bring it in. Never got around to it and we all know what happend next.

I wonder if the mold for it still exists? Nordic would probably be able to repair your current one for less.

Was under the impression it wasn’t and it’s just a purchased part for boat builders, but could be wrong. I had stop by Nordic after the buy out and spoke to Bob. He mentioned that I was about the 4th guy to stop in asking about flooring. I know they are busy so nothing against them and they might have things in the works. I’ll just wait for HIH to see if insight is given.

There might be a possibility of a later model hatch lid being available. Of course changing the shape would only work if you were doing the sub floor also.

I would think the mold is still around. They laid up a locker lid for my 210 a couple years back.

I don't understand people's hesitation to take their boat's to Nordic/Hallett for service and repairs. There is a reason Nordic has the best customer service reputation in the boat biz. Everything they do is top notch, reasonably priced and done in a timely manner. From my experience, no matter how busy they are they will fit you in and do anything you ask of them. My 2 cent's

No, sort of rectangler more of a trapezoid. View attachment 626516

Here is what I’m calling a coffin. Didn’t pass geometry so not sure if the shape.

We have the first 340t that Bud Bailey built View attachment 626571

The name “Bud Bailey” comes up and my ears ring. I own the 270S Bud built for his Daughter as a wedding present, (so I hear). The original owner was, (Steve)...his soon to be son in law from what I understand.

Kinda funny,
I’ve only met Dave twice and it was very brief...both times...busy man. First time was the day I purchased this boat.

The second, was in the dark at the Nautical. Pretty sure it was a DCB regatta about three years ago. Girlfriend and I are walking back to the room and hear Dave on his phone. Remembered is voice from the day I bought the boat and RDP videos. I said, “Dave? Is that you?”. He said ya?!? Anyhow, we had a few brief words and parted ways.

Maybe I'm missing something. But how can an AZ boat company tell an employee of a now closed business that he cannot start his own business and build boats?

My understanding is Jerry had no ownership of Hallett.

Jerry did not have any ownership in the business, basically just a employee, the boats will be mfg under the new name of "J Barron Boats" I have pics of the new logo and the new 29 plug under construction and as soon as I can get them out of my POS phone I will post them

I think his name is Steve. He went on river whips calling people names and saying Nordic didn’t want peoples business. I have no problem w Nordic just Joking around
His name is Steve. I have known him since he was a kid...he is one that definitely talks first and thinks second. That being said he is fiercely loyal to their brand.

here is a couple pics of the new "J Barron Boats" 29 deck boat

That looks like a new bottom? Definitely not a Talon bottom like most the others are running, and can’t say I can place it.

Looking forward to seeing more updates

Looks like it won't have a ton of compression / lift, given how deep the tunnels are when exiting the rear

Looks like it was cnc cut foam and being hand finished.

That centr pod does look a bit shallow.

I like what they are doing on the floor inside - nice combo of wood and other (carpet/rubberized). Im sure its just a mock up at this point but it looks fresh.

Sharp looking from the side and the interior is awesome. I really like the bow having a wall between the step off and the front seats. Should cut down on the wind. Shouldn't a 29 have twins? Really sharp looking.

Take a look at the drive. Closer to 27 probably of running surface

Hey Jerry. If you’re reading along you need to make these things about 4 inches wider;)

Looks amazing from the side!

Not sure I get that short step in the boat on the way to the walk off, or the short one right after what I'm guessing is the door? Looks very angulared and kind of Eliminator Speedster looking. I like it! Be interesting to get more details, and see what he was talking about with features that no other boat has yet.

Seems to lack storage on the gunnels. I like the lines. Be curious to see what the finished product looks like.

Also curious to see how much freeboard it will have.

Take a look at the front page, there's a little bit of an "RDP Exclusive" on this boat. I put up a bunch of different renderings of it from various angles, as well as the dual outboard rendering!

The first 34 I saw at Lake Mead was a Silverwing being launched by Bud Bailey himself. The first one was NOT a Hallett. That came later as he became employed by Hallett.
Mine is not a Hallett, just a Hallett sticker. Nick Barron Verified that mine is no.1 as the hin indicates as well. From what I understand, it was built and the owner did not take possesion of it for 2 years. I was told it was used as their boatshow boat and display. The boat was actually finished at Hallet so the customer could take delivery of it. From there it was stored for several years without being used, consequently the storage bill was left unpaid and the boat was auctioned off in Nevada. The lady at Nevada DMV or Fish and Game will verify its pedigree as when I registered the boat in AZ, they had to call Nevada for some information on it and dambed if she didn't remember the boat. as she tells the story that she had to get all kinds of verification and documentation from Hallet as So. Cal marine was no linger in business and the Silverwing name was gone. Just sayin'
