Love San Ignacio!!!!
We ate lunch at a Cafe across the street from there on one of our trips to Baja. Thanks for the memories!
Where are you running up to today? It's weird to say "up" as typically, you'd be heading down from San Ignacio.San Ignacio is a really cool little town. The entire population it seemed came out last night to kick off the Baja 1000 and celebrate with the Ampudia team. Was super fun.

Well, pre run vehicle decided to act grumpy and cut our day short. It’s an electrical gremlin with the power steering. Talked to a bunch of Polaris gurus and shops are busy replacing these units.
Gotta keep heading south and follow the teams to the start in La Paz.
We know our portion(s) fairly well but running this first leg at night we wanted to take one last look.
Never a dull moment in Baja. The mechanic and welding shops are packed in Lareto getting last minute repairs.

Is this the first time the course has been running south to north?
Holler back if you or @rivrrts429 can advise best day / time to hit Ensenada for Trophy Truck finishes.... I'm only a 45 min drive away and just would post up near a Ensenada location where I can park truck on dirt by a final runway jump or such.... thinking Friday cause I hear construction on toll road takes it down to one lane but open to advice. Thanks and best of luck.2 comparisons on projected timing. Fishgistics has it about 55 mph average and Score has it closer to 60 mph average. The 60 is common for penninsula runs but there is a ton of silt by Loreto and between Bay of LA and Catavina, then all the sandy whooped washes by San Felipe that will slow it down. I am guessing its closer to 58.
At best, TTs will be at our pit at RM 1070 at 2:50 AM. Expecting the class 1 cars 5 AM. Hoping to get some bettert intel once the guys are done prerunning tomorrow.

They expect them to finish Friday morning between 7 and 8:30. Timing stops outside town and they drive slowly into town from there. If you can go out to Ojos Negros maybe an hour East of Ensenada, you can see them at race speed. Right where it shows pre run end is where it will cross Hwy 3.Holler back if you or @rivrrts429 can advise best day / time to hit Ensenada for Trophy Truck finishes.... the Baja 2000 didnt come back north.Yes, first time. The Baja 2000, in 2000 was 1800+ miles and it came south but still began in Ensenada and went down and then back up.
This is the first time it’s ever started in La Paz and ended in Ensenada, 1300 miles.
the Baja 2000 didnt come back north.
It started in Ensenada and the finish was in Cabo. The finish was at the bull ring.
that was a hell of a race to crew.

News ALERT.....Raining hard up in Rosarito today.... not sure about how that'd effect your run in Ensenada area... might wanna check weatherI got to thinking about it after I posted it. Thanks for the correction. I don’t know why I thought it went down and back up. Either way that was a hell of a race with 30% attrition of vehicles.
Appreciate the clarification
With 80 hours to finish you had time to go back to san diego fix your car and keep racing. I was with TSCO we finished 2nd in class 1 we were partying for 4 days and cars were still coming inthe Baja 2000 didnt come back north.
