There's a post with a FB link to a video, yes the initial was before the intersection and the truck was going probably 60mph maybe moreBy the looks of the debris and fluid thru the intersection, it looks to me that some of the initial impact was before the signal light and everything in the intersection and beyond became collateral damage. About 300' feet or so... wow.
Its turban. Turbines are another excellent topic on RDP!Wow horrible.
Thursday that shit almost happened there..
Those f n turbine(yes ban me cause I speak the truth) wearing drivers
haul ass n blow that intersection all the time at 50 plus.. I don't dare pull away without looking there..

was thinking the same.Turbans may not be the best drivers, and some of the rigs pretty foul, but going to have to say I've never personally seen one doped up or drunk.
One confirmed fatality is better than the rumored two I guess. Unfortunately, the severity of the injuries sounds very bad. As always though, with the location and the reach of this place, someone here probably knows someone involved

Pigs, some. Bad drivers, some more...like I said though, never seen one spun out. That seems to be more the NAFTA drivers I've come across in my travels. Those turban team drivers are known for cutting a hole in the floor of the truck to shit through
It’s my understanding that drivers have been tweaking for decades?I’m less concerned about the nationality of the driver and whether it’s a trucker hat or a turban they are wearing.
What concerns me is how we have gotten to here and what we can do to get away from this.
I would take a good hard look at the driving school that birthed this idiot, and maybe we institute fines or shut down the schools that produces drivers with poor safety records.
Additionally I would also take a chunk out of the business that hired this guy and start giving them a reason to not hire unqualified people and to also monitor and enforce the rules of the road and their drivers behavior. It seems that takes place today but then why was this guy allowed to drive like this?
And yes hold the driver accountable as well, but they are the tip of the issue not the sole reason.
Sure more rules, regulations and fines may not be popular, painting good truckers (some on here) with a broad brush, but we have to somehow pull ourselves back from what’s going on our roads.
Wrong. Are you a business owner? You can SOP the F out of a process/procedure, but in the end, you have a human in control of a machine. Employees are STUPID because the only consequence is loss of job if they're a dum dum. The only solution is to hang him in the public square after being proved guilty. 100% personal accountability is the only way out of "this". People need to be afraid for their lives as consequences for their poor decisions/actions, this applies to so many other problems with our society.I’m less concerned about the nationality of the driver and whether it’s a trucker hat or a turban they are wearing.

I’ve never been a part of it, but I’ve heard that truck lots are where the best meth is?
Nope, I'm just making suggestions for the point of conversation, as I see it. I didnt say it was the right way to go about it. It seems you want the firing squad for everybody and everything, I think that's a bit much. Just enforcing existing laws might put a lot of this to bed, its why we have them in the first place. Lack of enforcement shouldnt generate new laws to be equally unenforced. I appreciate your side, as you see it. Its healthy discourse.Wrong. Are you a business owner? The majority of those "7-Eleven" truck drivers only carry a Canadian driver's license, since they can not pass the American driving test.
I want people that are without a doubt guilty in a situation like this to suffer in kind to the suffering imposed on the innocents involved. Just enforcing existing laws isn't working, and we don't need more laws. We need more extreme consequence for poor decisions/actions, and I think its the quickest way to get back to a polite society.Nope, I'm just making suggestions for the point of conversation, as I see it. every trucking company wants to make the most profit, so cheapest drivers they can get.I’m less concerned about the nationality of the driver and whether it’s a trucker hat or a turban they are wearing.

Guy at the end of that report definitely suffered trauma seeing it happenHow horrible. What a senseless loss for innocent people & families.
We had this happen 4 years ago on I-70. At 1:00 the truck goes flying past a guy u-tubing and into traffic that is at a stand still on I-70.
Driver was originally sentenced to 110 years but our worthless POS governor got a call from that fat ass Kim Kardashian and lowered his sentence to only 10 years. Four people murdered and he gets 10 years.
Headed that way for Chinese food last night.I go through that intersection several times a month, even got a ticket there recently. I wont bitch about the ticket. I wondered what was going on last night when I came through. Wild scene for sure!!!

Parker live reporting that he’ll be charged with second degree murder and 8 counts of aggravated assault.
Still doesn’t seem like enough.
If you’re a full timer. How long can it. Or should take to see 100k. Miles I’m assuming you’re referring to. I mean hell. I was at 30k plus a year just driving my normal job to and from work and weekend travels. It's not very hard to get a CDL. It's difficult to be a successful driver, and actual work to be a good driver. So many of the current crop of drivers probably have less than 500k on their clocks, total, maybe 50-100k in the cab. A lot of these drivers are "independents", driving trucks leased from larger carriers or even smaller companies. It's a way for hacks to get on the road, big companies use them, but aren't officially responsible for them.
I've seen UPS semis and fed ex semis do that on I10 before. When you watch the patterns of drivers you can see which trucks have the GPS speed monitors that act like big brother and which trucks arentLook at how many accidents that are on open roads in daylight, in perfect conditions. It’s pretty clear it’s a driver problem of drugs, distractions, negligence or a combination thereof.
Coming back on the highway between Powell and Flagstaff last month 2 Target store 18-wheelers were in single file. Finally, when the 1/2 mile of passing lane came up for the now 10 cars behind them, the one truck swings out and uses the whole 1/2 mile lane to pass his comrade. For the rest of the trip he would slow down to 55 in 2-way no passing traffic and a 1/2 mile before the upcoming passing lane he would speed up to 80. I had to get to 90 to pass him. My wife looked back and the guy was laughing.
Then it should be shared liability then if the company insists on putting the public at risk with bad choices. If they don’t want that, hire the proper drivers and pay what that costs to retain drivers that won’t give your company a black eye. Find another way to penny pinch.every trucking company wants to make the most profit, so cheapest drivers they can get.

These days, it’s New York licenses.
Loved that movie!Ever heard of white crosses? Bennie's? Rocket fuel?
Truckers have been using benzedrine and other amphetamine compounds since Julius Mack built the first OTR truck. Who remembers this 1970s classic?
Just had a conversation with my wife about that. I was taught not to fear the truckers. but respect them as they are professionals. You want cheap shit at Walmart ? This is how it gets there. As cheap as possible. The days of the professional driver are long gone.

Not the same anymore. Need to be aware around truckers now more than ever...
