The BLM was established in 1946.

Texas was granted statehood in 1845.

Now I'm no mathematician by any stretch of the imagination, but something seems a bit off here to me?

I'm just not quite sure what it is...

🤔

The article that I read was on Fox, stating that Texas was under heavy pressure to accept the BLM. The piece went on to stress that Texas was not interested in anything to do with the BLM. I have No Idea if this information was After -The -Fact or not, but because I despise the Totally Mismanaged and Power Hungry BLM I was interested in the information and how it was related to people who might want to live there.

Now to your Statement about Not being a mathematician, I have No Idea, but I am very confident after reading your B.S. here there are many things you are not.

BUT!!

There are a couple of things that you ARE.

I am assuming your interest in Texas was related to the "ASS" you made out of yourself on the Texas Abortion Stand.

If it were the late 80's, could have been the father of a girl my wife and I know. Her dad died in an ultralight wreck out there. Never heard the details. My wife was friends with her when it happened, I didn't meet her until high school in the early/mid 90's.
Your friend must have been a different incident, this was probably 91-94ish

I can't seem to find any information on this

I will say we were in wash 6 and it was probably one of the most packed washes we were all the way in the back and it took about 8-10
Mins to just get back to wash road and there were tons of just trashy people people coming through camp doing wheelies and dounts

Was like that over there last year as well. The only way to find camp was when the wash 6 boy balloon was up

Never, ever did the washes appeal to me for camping. Sounds even less appealing these days.☹

You think they were maybe talking about Black Lives Matter, and not the Bureau of Land Management??

I have stated multiple times that the fuck texas thread was about the manipulation of the laws of this country, and NOT about abortion. You seem to be the ONLY person on this board that has yet to figure that out!

But, since you clearly don't have the reading comprehension to differentiate between Black Lives Matter and the Bureau of Land Management, it's understandable that you can't comprehend the fuck texas thread either.

Move along now, and maybe take English 101 again? It would be to your advantage for sure. 👍

All I know is from various Social Media platforms. A head on- some shootings in the washes,Fukifiknow.
Glamis is soiled w/clueless SXS kooks, and big pocket$ for Big HP amateur wannabe Robby Gordon shitty fucking drivers.
So it's become like a Havasu summer boating adventure in the sand.🤪
What was once kinda specialized hobbies have since met mainstream financing for everyone.

So ummm...

I don't even want to repeat some of the news I heard tonight.

There were way more tragic events than were mentioned on here.

Going to dinner, we drove right past where the head on accident was. What I was told was, one person in one of the cars, perished in the flames (couldn't get out of the vehicle). Their was a huge black spot on the road.

There was a shooting, and a knife attack retaliation shortly after.

There was some other shit that was beyond awful. Something about a child that perished in flames after falling into a camp fire, among other things.

Awful weekend in Glamis. 😕

I went to Glamis this past weekend for the first time in several years, IMO, it isn't any worse than when I was a Glamis regular, years ago. SxS kooks and the big HP cars are plentiful for sure, but one thing hasn't changed....stay away from the destinations (hill, drags, swings, etc..) and the dunes are nearly empty. Stay south of RR and out toward the middle and the duning is still great even on a busy weekend.
Any news on the Diner at Gordon's ? I was surprised to see it closed on Halloween.

Texas doesnt have anything to do with BLM because there is very little "public lands" in texas, and even less federally owned "public lands"....

BLM manages federally owned public land.

Edit: only 1% of texas lands are federal public lands. NV by comparison is like ~60%, CA ~15%, UT ~40% for comparison.

Thanks, but I understand that perfectly and the only reason it was mentioned was the Thread of reasons to move to Texas.👍

I miss the days before gps when you had to know where you were going. Now everyone can find all the spots
Me too. I still lead our group by experience of knowing where I am going. Most people that come with me for the first time are always blown away how I can come back from a ride so close to camp. I just tell them I have been doing it for over 15 years.

I will say the GPS does make it nice to find someone broken down in the dunes tho.

Will do. Probably gonna spend the night there. You gonna come down?
So do you know Jerry? He spends a lot of time out there (or used to) during the Glamis season. He has a black rail, Buckshot I believe.

Night rides were a lot more entertaining. Finding your way was half the fun. The first time I ever saw a little handheld garmin looking gps was at night at China Wall when some guy pulled up with it and showed us how it worked lol

Can't say

Can't say that I do.

I know the owners and managers of Boardmanville, mainly because I built their website for them. I think Courtney introduced me to Lance? Or maybe Kevin did? It was awhile ago now.

They were putting new cameras in when I got there, and I'll be adding those to their website as soon as I get settled in.

It was nice spending the night out there. The peace and quiet was awesome. 👍🏼

Being at the river for two weeks was awesome, but now I have to play catch up for a bit!

We just use land marks during the day. And night rides we great because like you said finding your way was half the fun. We'd pull up on top of a big ass hill at night like "dude we found China!".
And on nights with a full bright ass moon you almost didn't need lights. The dunes would almost almost glow in the dark.

Now a days we just stop on a random high dune and hang there for an hour rather than going to the hill.

Another site is reporting BLM Rangers made their rounds this morning, tagging unoccupied campers. The reporting person was camped at Road Runner when the Rangers came through.

Goodness...

When I drove by Geko this morning, it looked completely deserted! Going past it last night, I think I saw one lonely camp fire.

The Glamis Beach Store parking lot was empty, and vendors row looked deserted as well.

That's MY report, and I'm sticking to it!

Maybe everyone saw the new signs and decided against leaving stuff out there? The signs must've worked! 👍

Several photos popping up right now and video of rigs, trucks, trailers getting towed... "They were tagged 48 hours ago. Haven't moved nor anyone contacted law enforcement therefore they are considered abandoned, therefore giving law enforcement the authority to enter, raise jacks, and etc to have them towed."

Found this. I thought the rule was you can stay for 14 days and then just move and continue staying. This says stay for 14 days and then you must be gone for 14 days. This is friggin awesome if they really enforce this rule.

DISPERSED CAMPING

Camping on public lands away from developed recreation facilities is referred to as dispersed camping. Most of the remainder of public lands are open to dispersed camping, as long as it does not conflict with other authorized uses or in areas posted "closed to camping," or in some way adversely affects wildlife species or natural resources.

Dispersed camping is allowed on public land for a period not to exceed 14 days within a 28 consecutive day period. The 28 day period begins when a camper initially occupies a specific location on public lands. The 14 day limit may be reached either through a number of separate visits or through 14 days of continuous overnight occupation during the 28 day period. After the 14th day of occupation, the camper must move outside of a 25 mile radius of the previous location until the 29th day since the initial occupation. The purpose of this special rule is to prevent damage to sensitive resources caused by continual use of any particular areas. In addition, campers must not leave any personal property unattended for more than 10 days (12 months in Alaska).

Campsite Selection

Dispersed camp sites are located along most secondary roads and may not be marked. Popular locations can be recognized by the telltale flat disturbed area that has been used as a camp site before. Not all flat spots are sites. If possible, please use existing sites to avoid creating new disturbances. To further protect your public lands, campers must not dispose of any refuse, hazardous materials, sewage, or in any manner pollute the surrounding area

You know I’m actually torn about this… I hate the fact that there’s all this ghost camping and then you show up on Thursday and you can’t get a spot but by the same token I hate the fact that we’re gonna have more policing… What is even fucking worse is it you can live in an RV in somewhere on the side of the fucking road with no registration and no insurance and it’s OK… What a complete cluster fuck…
