I can give you a reason why I had to do it in the past. Someone accused someone else of sending child porn through PM's. As you are probably aware of even if you didn't "post" the child porn if it's found on your server you can be liable for it. Especially if you were informed of it and didn't do anything. I had to look through PM's and found nothing.

And the only one that costs money is the first link, the rest are free. Reading a database, or telling your web admin (if you are not tech savy) to read the database is also free. Logging in as another user is also free. So money isn't a concern if you want to look at PM's. There are valid reason's to look through PM's. So telling people that you can't look through them is completely false. I am surprised you haven't had a situration where you needed to do that yet.

You tell me a situation why you would feel justified in opening a letter addressed to my house.. and I will show ya a situation where I’m gonna go even looking for the software to open others pm’s.

The whole Child Porn argument you just made isn’t really based in reality in my mind.

To explain how that would play out. If a member accused another of something like that I would tell the member that we should call the cops and I will be happy to cooperate in anyway shape or form with them, but not to the expense of giving up all of my members privacy (to which I’d call council and admin etc to determine what the best options are)

I would also explain that I am going to tell the cops my honest opinions and if it’s frivolous I want that member prosecuted for false report, waste of resources.. which would be the beginning.
