My father was a senior pilot at that time and they requested he go down to the crash site to help with the investigation. He wasn't the same after that for a long time. Most of the passengers on that flight were crew members and friends of the family. Most were just (no pun intended) deadheading home. Very sad indeed.

Somewhere I have a uniform shoulder patch for, "Hill St. Pct., Metropolitan Police."
I had a Sky King Lunch Box in grade school.
I always wanted to fly the "SongBird".
I tried to modify every lever action cap rifle I owned to make it work like Lucas McCain's, but was never successful for very long.

When I was a kid it cost $17.50 to fly PSA form Long Beach to Sacramento "Municipal" Field.
I know cops that were working that crash...it changed them forever, before they named it PTSD...
