Hubby and I are thinking of things that we might want to do for a vacation this year.... I'm looking at all-inclusive resorts in Cabo. Does anyone have any experiences or recommendations that they would be willing to share? Also, what are your feelings about traveling to Mexico these days? Sketchy or not?

I cant open that link, but I'm assuming that is the 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise? We did that for our honeymoon and loved it. That same cruise is on the table as well, just checking out some other options.

Im sorry we stayed at dreams....its half way between san jose and cabo so it was a good cab ride to town, but if you go all-inclusive better to stay there anyways.I think we payed 2300 and i drank that alone in 7 days.cabo is expensive, i think we are going to shop and cook quite abit while there.

Yeap, $599, probably an inside room for that price. Good luck on your search... :thumbsup

Bumping this old thread... I'm on the hunt for an all-inclusive in Cabo again. The year I posted this we took the Carnival cruise down to Cabo and this past year we went to Hawaii... THIS year is the year for a Cabo trip.

The only two things that I really want are all-inclusive and on Medano beach so that we are close enough to walk to The Office, ect. Anyone have any experiences to share?? Pretty sure all-inclusive is the way to go considering how much booze we can go through in a week...:champagne:

My wife and I stay at Riu Palace in Cabo every year(Palace hotels mentioned on this thread before). Can't beat it for the price IMO.

Isn't that far from actual Cabo? Pretty sure I don't want to have to take a cab every time we want to go somewhere.... did you find that to be an issue? I guess I'm thinking I'd much rather spend that money on shrimp tacos at the Office or a Waborita.:drool

I stayed at the Villa Del Palmar. All inclusive. Nice pool. About a mile or two to the marina/town. My bar tab alone on the first day was the cost of the all inclusive deal. Definitely worth it :thumbsup

I've been twice, stayed at Pueblo Bonito Rose.
They were condos, totally loved it.
It's a bit of a hike to The Office, maybe a 5 minute walk down the sand.

Didn't go the all-inclusive route...I'd rather go out and eat in town.

If you'd rather stay at the resort than mingle with locals, then all-inclusive is worth it.

No, the Riu is not too far from town. You can walk to the Office and the other beach bars from there, otherwise, it's a 5 minute cab to downtown.

Oh its HAPPENING BMac. :D :skull Start saving your pennies....

Thanks for the input-- that is actually one of the places I was interested in. How was the food there? I have no doubt that we could possibly drink them right out of business....

I've also been looking at this place. Looks like they do offer an all-inclusive package, but I'm a little wary that it might not be as comprehensive as some of the other places. I'll need to look into it more. The place looks super nice... I know we'll probably do a few meals outside the resort, but I'm thinking that the savings in booze alone might be worth it to do the all-inc...

I think the Riu is the closest all inclusive to town last I checked, but I'm not positive as some of the other hotels closer might have this option now.

Food was awesome. Right next to the pool, they have this big pizza oven to make homemade pizza. The rest of the food was pretty good from what I remember. For dinner you want to go to different spots in cabo though. You gotta go to the Trailer Park for dinner one night.

It was honestly stupid how much we drank and compared to how cheap the all inclusive package was. We had buckets of coronas sent to our cabana every 5-10 minutes along with well drinks and margaritas :drool

didnt read all the thread so dont know if it were brought up but when the little lady and i go to cabo we always stay at dreams all enclusive and never have a problem or bad thing to say about it yet. there in house resturaunts are kick ass and for a little more you can stay next door in the condos. they have a great shuttle service at all hours of the day and nite and can get a ton of free activities scuba snorkal fishing etc etc.
if you want to party then your gonna have to check out cabo wabo and the no where bar for sure in town.we have have a vacation share down there and try to go now at least twice a year cause its only a 2 hr flight:D

my wife and I are going at the end of March for a week. flying out of LA and staying at the Melia. Its all inclusive. got a smokin good deal through Orbitz. I was a bit leary and called the hotel the next day to make sure the room was booked correctly and it was indeed all inclusive. the Melia is 3.5 stars on some websites and 4 stars on some. for 7 days and 6 nights we're paying $1818 total including flight. looks like a great place and we can't wait to go!

This won't help you if you want to be close to town but I have a 7 night timeshare available at the Hacienda Encantada for the week of 3/12-3/19.

It is a 5 star resort that is 10 mins from town by cab, and they offer a less expensive shuttle service as well.

This week is also Spring Break for ASU and USC, so it should be pretty crazy in town, but not at my resort.

The room is a one bedroom with a full kitchen and 2 full baths. 1400 sq.ft. Ocean and pool view. You can almost spit into the ocean it is so close. See the arch from your room and watch the cruise ships roll into the bay from your double wide balcony. The place is the BOMB!

I also have a floating week for any other dates this year at Hacienda Del Mar. Let me know if anyone is interested. We are going to Walt Disney World this year instead.

we're thinking about getting a private shuttle service. its only like $50 more round trip than taking a shuttle full of people to the hotel and we get to ride in a nice Tahoe. the company that offers this service also offers a few adventure things like scuba and zip lines and so on.

Stay away from the Riu Palace in Cabo. The pools and everything is awesome but it is all inclusive and the food was absolutely horrible. My girlfriend and I ended up going into town every night, really a dissapointment since we were paying everyday for the food.

Recently went to Barcelo all inclusive resort in PV, the food and resort was amazing. Not cabo but much better experience.

Thanks for being a good sport about that comment. I certainly wish no harm to you or your husband. Please stay safe.

The beheadings in Mexico make me somewhat uncomfortable. Not as uncomfortable as those who've had their heads sawn off, though... so I guess I should pipe down.

By the way, I was hit with an infraction as I logged in this morning. I immediately assumed it was for my comment in this thread. I didn't think too much about it at the time but, as I was hit with the infraction pop-up, I started thinking... hey... that could have been taken badly... I've pushed it too far this time. It turned out, the infraction was for being a Canadian.

Interesting...we were at a Riu in Jamaica, same experience:
great facilities, not-so-great food.

We stayed at the riu Santa fe which is right next door, same company, to the riu palace. For the $ we couldn't go wrong. Food was so-so but the ocean view room was nice and the pools were great. We walked the beach into town and also took a glass bottom boat. We've also stayed at the cabo real melia and pueblo bonito sunset beach. Sunset beach by far the nicest but also the most expensive. Have fun!

I can save us a ton of dough. You guys can fly to Monterrey with me, stay in the same $89 a night hotel, armed guard to and from the plant, help me work 12 hour days, eat hotel food and drink $12 cocktails. Hey it's Messico, how can you say no?

just an idea... :D

Be careful at the Mango Deck. Last time I was there I used a credit card and it was the only place I had used it in Mexico or anywhere for a while. While I was still in Cabo it was being used in Salt Lake city of all places.

I still had possession of the card but the company said it was actually swiped:thumbsdown

Other than that the Mango Deck is good fun. Not sure if the OP would be comfortable there as it can get rather risqu?e:D
