my wife and I are going at the end of March for a week. flying out of LA and staying at the Melia. Its all inclusive. got a smokin good deal through Orbitz. I was a bit leary and called the hotel the next day to make sure the room was booked correctly and it was indeed all inclusive. the Melia is 3.5 stars on some websites and 4 stars on some. for 7 days and 6 nights we're paying $1818 total including flight. looks like a great place and we can't wait to go!

Let me know how it is at the Melia. The wife and I are going there with a group first part of April and I'd really like to know what your experience of the place is like.

I can save us a ton of dough. You guys can fly to Monterrey with me, stay in the same $89 a night hotel, armed guard to and from the plant, help me work 12 hour days, eat hotel food and drink $12 cocktails. Hey it's Messico, how can you say no?

just an idea... :D

ya know.... I think I'll pass on that one.

We stayed at the riu Santa fe which is right next door, same company, to the riu palace. For the $ we couldn't go wrong. Food was so-so but the ocean view room was nice and the pools were great. We walked the beach into town and also took a glass bottom boat. We've also stayed at the cabo real melia and pueblo bonito sunset beach. Sunset beach by far the nicest but also the most expensive. Have fun!

Thanks for the input! Not stoked about the so-so food reviews I've read about the Riu on here and also other places online... might have to reconsider that one...

we're thinking about getting a private shuttle service. its only like $50 more round trip than taking a shuttle full of people to the hotel and we get to ride in a nice Tahoe. the company that offers this service also offers a few adventure things like scuba and zip lines and so on.

nice i do recommend the zip line but be ready to exercise a bit the hikes to the top are a bit knarly but worth it and bring a big bottle of water cause all the beer and alcohol the resorts feed ya makes you a little dehydrated :D
i highly recommend a sunset cruise near the arches was one of the best thing we did good grub and ice cold booze and the way it just disapears into the ocean was bitchen to say the least.its a good way to start of the party night in town too :D

Where is that?

Land's End Cabo San Lucas

Lover's beach just to the right of the arch.

I landed a sixty pound Yellowfin tuna in that exact spot, hooked him about a 1/2 mile away.:D

It looks gorgeous.

Are those islands where they dispose of the decapitated bodies?

April 10-16. Never been there before. Tripadvisor had very mixed reviews, expedia first few pages of reviews were a lot better. Would really like your opinion when you get back if possible.

No, all the corpses are buried in the desert near Todos Santos.
Right where the Federales were busted about ten years ago trying to bury a French Airliner that all the blow had been unloaded from.

They buried the nose gear in the desert sand and were trying to break up the plane and bury it when they were caught. Severly disciplined they were transfered to another post on the mainland.:D:D

We were in Todas Santos in a rental car just after the incident and kept getting rousted like crazy, turns out they thought we were DEA.

Thank God they didn't just dispose of us too.;):D

I think what helped save us was one of my buddies had weed on him and was stoned as hell.

The Riu is nice but I would never stay in an all inclusive there for the following reasons:

(1) Panchos Restaurant

(2) Ediths

(3) Salvatores

(4) Cascadas

(5) No worrys Bar and Grill

I've traveled a bunch and never had better food than in Cabo.
