The lights in this town, from my perspective, is that they are programmed to turn red just before you get there😠😂😂
I swear, there are times I can't catch a break😏
I can actually drive around easier in my area of San Diego than Havasu. The freeway having lights on it does not help.

What’s the maximum building height on the island? I’d wager that’s the new owners will be paying the mordida to get that limit raised if it’s not higher than 36’ 😉 buncha politicians getting wet right now thinking about how they are gonna get greased up😂 a local council seat in our town goes for about $300k, the developers install these puppets all over the place.

Is there currently entitlement in place on this property? A good watch dog group of citizens will be able to keep this thing in check and avoid a 10 story low income (subsidized project) from being built. Pay attention local havasu residents, you want that resort, not the watts towers😂

Can’t forget open space requirements and amenities for a master planned community of this size. Also have to hope you don’t have massive amounts of fill or unsuitable soils. You could potentially do offsite improvements too if things are rated for the additional units. Land can often be the cheapest part of actual development.
This. I learned this first hand building a house on 20 acres in California. Infrastructure alone was 6 figures.

You say that like it’s a bad thing, but show up with a happy meal in one hand,10 bucks and the other and the world is your oyster.

Jeez, is everyone on RDP glass 1/2 empty?
Everything about the Island except the OG structures screams Orange County east. 3k+ sqft homes 8' apart, 12 foot deep backyards surrounded by beautiful block wall views and security gates into your hood with zero parking.
It's the epidemy of bringing with you the shit you "hated" from California.

So you think the dried up golf course and the dead tree's are better than developing the property into something better for the community? We don't even know what they're planning to develop yet.

God your old..... Lol

This is the last thing Havasu needs IMO. The reason Havasu is what it is is because most people that go there are boaters, and most own a house there and don't rent. The more condos and resorts you build, the more the boatless riff raff comes to rent a room for a few nights and jack off in the channel.

I tend to disagree on that sir. In my circle of friends (besides the ones I know here who mostly own homes there), only 1 owns a house there. Its less than you think, because you probably own a house there :)

I have been going to the lake for 25 years. We all keep our stuff in storage. Hence why there is a 1 year waiting list for a storage unit.

You know as well as I do, those city consult meetings are nothing but dog and pony shows for the residents.

Kinna like bitching about stuff on this forum, the complaints won't go anywhere! 🤣

All the real deals have already been done. Somebody didn't spend 24 MILLION in the hopes of getting things done.

Will be interesting to see how this goes. McCulloch would be quite proud to see what his bridge has accomplished. 👍🏼

No I hear ya! I know plenty of boaters like that as well. If they build a ton of storage (either onsite or offsite) and made renting a unit for a few months a prerequisite of renting a resort room, then that would solve 90% of the problems.

Turn the sprinklers back on, dammit! 😁😄 Better than high density housing. Where will all the rabbits, bobcats and 'yotes go?😊
I could visualize a nice hotel/resort but again, not what I'd prefer....as if it matters what I like.😂

The relationship to home ownership isn't necessarily valid but the other part pretty much is.

So if was this developer here is what I would do.

1. I’d go pay off the local council and get the building height raised as high as possible (giraffe pussy high). Put all there kids through college or rehab, whatever there deal is.

2. I’d fire up an aviation service out if John Wayne and Santa Monica if the real money people would buy in, and run commuter flights out to havasu and also offer helo drop from airport to the island.

3. Put in storage racks and offer white glove service through that facility, arrive and drive program with maintenance and all bullshit taken care of.

4. Five or ten story luxury resort without the ability to rent out the units to the poor via an in-house service.

Go fucking big👊

What’s gonna happen? Some low income subsidized development that will allow methicans to take up residents on the island and their progeny to infect that town with a substance abuse problem like nothing ever before seen in the area.

“Go be poor someplace else”

You guys are gonna have to start taking pictures and video of the meth heads wandering aimlessly through town. I’m not saying there are no substance-abuse issues within the local community but the way some of you talk to you think this is San Francisco or Skid Row.🙄🤣

Methicans come with low income housing, unfortunately poverty sucks.

I think with some dynamite and a lot of grading, the could build an area like the keys in parker. That would bring some top $$$

I wonder what rules the state put on the developer. Changing the shore line sounds like some major payoff money to be paid.

I’ll bet it would be less red tape to go 50 story high rise than wade through that 😂

I'm guessing that payoff would have to include the Army Corp of Engineers, and AZ Game and Fish, not just Havasu officials.

Believe it or not, I heard that there might be a possibility of low income apartments going in there.. Which to me would even be a bigger dissapointment.. They could build that anywhere, why there?

I hope that's not what they are planning on doing with it. Point in fact I hope it's a first class resort with a real marina like they have at LOTO. Knowing the people involved though they are literally 100% about the money and could give a shit about the town, communities etc..

Look at the trinity project. I'm surprised the rich guys in the foothills haven't ran him out of town for some of the shit he's trying to pull in the foothills.

RD
Smartest thing Ive read and I wouldnt doubt it one bit!!!!!!!! Lets hope the city has enough fortitude to reject anything like that, low income housing I mean. There are 2 on the council that I wont mention their names but 2 WIOMEN who would favor low income housing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Often? Always...

I've got an outfit that paid seven figures for a plot of land in town to build a campus for their company. The old man is pissed because the electric alone is more than he paid for the lot. Last I heard they are making noises of selling the land, probably at a loss.

Most people with money are just as stupid as those without. Or rather they might be expert on their chosen endeavor, but that doesn't make them skilled or wise anywhere else.
