All has been sold!
After talking to my engine builder, I have some parts for sale. If you are looking to work on your 496, this is a good opportunity to get some good parts. Here is what I have:
8.1l block - 4.25 bore in good shape
raylar forged pistons for this bore - made by autotek
205 camshaft - very boat friendly with only about 1-2' of overlap. .630 lift
hydraulic lifters
ported stock 8.1l intake. Good for about 15-25 hp over a non-ported one at rpm. The baffle inside has been removed. THrottle body opening has been opened up as well and some welding to add material around the neck of the intake so that you can use much larger throttle bodies with an adapter or a 85mm as is. Stock is 78mm. THis intake was not ported by raylar but is similar to what they do as far as cutting out the baffle and opening up the throttle body. Not going to win any beauty contests but it works.
I bought the raylar 511" short block after being torn down and inspected and I already had the intake sitting in my garage. I'm carrying over the crank and rods to my new setup. The rest is listed in this ad. No heads included. IF you wanted to complete this you could ehter use your stock crank and appropriate length rod, or you could buy a 4.5" dart stroker crank for $600 and the corresponding rods. People have a lot of issues with the pistons of the 496 if they throw more power at them so this will help with that.
You're welcome to come check this stuff out. I'm located in Mission Viejo, CA (south oc). $1800. If you really insist on getting the 4.50" crank and corresponding rods as well (scat/raylar) then I'll sell everything for $3000. You'd just need heads and valvetrain to complete.
