It’s like the people that run/manage the city don’t even live here! The powers that be did these roundabouts all through Sedona and everyone hates them, And they are not towing boats. These new Havasu bridge roundabouts will be the new site six for spectators 😂.

Roundabouts are ubiquitous where I live. They actually do speed up traffic, and work as designed. I prefer them. It’s no big deal towing a trailer either. It is nice not having to yield the right of way, when there is no other car coming. At a stop sign, you have to stop regardless. Why stop if you don’t have too?

I take my golf cart at 40mph and just do a quick right left right. It’s fun!

Had a chance to look over the feasibility study this morning. Shaded spots in the channel and snowbirds stopped in round-abouts coming soon

Holy moly a round about right outside the entrance to Windsor event parking? Not just a traffic nightmare but about all the pedestrian's trying to cross from the over flow parking lots into the event? It will be like a game of Frogger!

I have used a round-about with my 43' Moho and 24' stacker with no issues. 🤷‍♂️ It just needs to be a larger round-about. Semi's need to deliver goods on the island so it won't be an issue.

I'm onboard for this idea. Some people just have nothing better to do than complain.

Have you been to Havasu City lately? Where you have to sit through THREE green lights to get through an intersection?

I can just picture 200 yards of backed up traffic, trying to get through a round about...

And then an accident happens?

News at 9. Riot breaks out in Lake Havasu City over fender bender! 😱

The good news is, you'll have your motorhome to defend yourself in!

🔫🔫🔫😁

I'm gonna be 100% honest . . . I'm a complete IDIOT when it comes to roundabouts.
I've only ever been on 3 . . . The Long Beach Traffic Circle, the one off the 10 to Parker (I usually miss that turnoff and have to go all the way to Morgantown and turn back )!!! 😆 . . . and the one at the turnoff to Hadley's Fruit Orchard on the way home in Cabazon.

I don't think I've ever been through one of those things w/o someone honking at me, flipping me off, or slamming on their brakes . . . usually all 3 !!! 😆🤪😄🤣

Roundabouts work ! It’s the idiots that don’t understand how a roundabout works that are the problem.

I’ve been to Dubai and qatar many times ,some of the roundabouts have 12 arteries and 5 or 6 lanes. The key is to come in hot fully committed

Traffic circles are fine and dandy if everybody knows where the hell they’re going. Doesn’t work too well in a tourist town where nobody knows where the heck they’re going.

People in Havasu can’t even manage 4 way stops.

I’d set up my lawn chair and live stream the carnage of a roundabout anywhere in Havasu.

Little mini one on way to marine stadium is fun with boat in tow.

I remember back in 1999, Donald Trump proposed a bridge, which would start down near Cheetah Boats, due west through the marsh, and continue to allow the casino at Havasu Landing to be connected. Then, the yellow belly salamander or some other silly endangered creature stopped this build. They then proposed a bridge from Site 6, over near the chalk cliffs, and then a road would continue to the casino. At first, the Indians were on board, but once they realized they would lose control, all bridge ideas were nixed going across the lake. Us homeowners both loved and hated the idea of a bridge, as I'm sure is happening on the island right now.

I think the roundabout on the island would work well, on the Northend it's a little more problematic. I haven't read all the newest information, but last I heard that wasn't the first choice.🤷‍♂️

And if the intersection is larger than a traditional 4-way stop. When trying to adapt a round-a-bout into a 4-way, it NEVER works. There isnt enough space to have a large enough circle for it to work.

They had em in Barbados. They also drove in the wrong side of the road over there! 😱

I was like...

Somebody else drive, no way I'm driving around here!!! 🤣

You definitely had to go in committed. Those fuckers, with their tiny cars there, were driving full speed ahead through those things. Crazy.

I Avoid it like the plague. :p But I do think that little roundabout serves it's purpose well for that corner.

My so lives at the top of Countyline road in Yucaipa. They replaced 4 or 5 4 way stops with roundabouts that work really once the locals figured out how to COMMIT !

You guys talking about traffic in Havasu is somewhat comical compared to bigger metropolitan areas. I would take LHC busiest over some of our daily. We have roundabouts everywhere and i fly through all of them running 62 feet of rv/trailer.

You do realize that 80% of those people that can’t drive in Havasu were endorsed to drive in the state you patrol. no wonder your job security is so good. 🤣

This ^^^

I think a whole bunch of them are temporary stop gaps that are never properly designed in the first place.

Not a chance. CA drivers are generally aggressive and at a minimum, know the order of operations for a 4 way stop.

In Havasu it’s typically the blue hairs that will sit there and try and allow other people to go via hand gestures. I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t say, out loud, “that’s not how a stop sign worksssss!!”

It’s even worse when I’m in the po po car on the way to work.

They all wave you to get in front of them?

I'm shocked! 🤣

Same deal when you’re doing an oversize escort and everybody’s afraid to pass while you’re going 35 miles an hour. Glad I don’t have to deal with that crap anymore.

Let’s hope they go with the signal option over roundabouts.
Getting trailers through a roundabout sucks

This looks like it came from a progress submittal from the bridge engineer, so the rotary is likely going to be what gets built

Maybe a "1-way on, 1-way off" type arrangement might work better. That would alleviate the 3 and 4 way traffic at the roundabouts.

For those complaining about towing a trailer through a round-about, how do you negotiate a 90 degree right hand corner at any common intersection? It's actually less radius to navigate through a round-about.

Have you driven thru the circle on McCulloch. Wonder if the new roundabouts will be that big?
That is not a true roundabout in my opinion.
Engineers forgetting folks have 40’ RV’s and/or 45’ of boat trailers behind a truck.
Tire shops will make a killing if it is a true roundabout.

We walk our dog on the island side of the channel and these pictures are from thanksgiving week. It’s all marked out already. The woman on the other side was taking pictures of the markers and writing stuff in her notebook.

450.00' is Lake Havasu's full pool elevation. I doubt it has anything to do with the bridge. Probably some sort of shoreline survey.

Please, Lord, let them make the lanes wider than 7'. Please, please, pretty please? And if we're real good, maybe we can even get gutters?

I hope it gets built. Makes getting to and from the island from my house easier than the main bridge.

Hopefully they "copy" the design of the bridge perfectly! Dont need some modern day POS bridge down there.
