$35M won’t get the environmental impact study done, the feasibility study, the endangered grass study, or the assembly of 15 exploratory groups to talk about the project. $100M precon, and $150M to build it.
The estimates are already in, and the recommended bridge is only about 16 mil and the roadwork all the to Palo Verde and 95 is aprox, 18 mil.I’m bringing this back….. I still contend there’s NO WAY 35M covers this!
You know that's not happening. The biggest positive that I can hope for is that the new bridge isn’t tall enough for the casino boat and havasu landing will have to find a new place to park and pick up the gamblers

That bridge cost estimate is roughly equal to the combined cost of the 4-5 highest priced houses on the island. The estimates are already in, and the recommended bridge is only about 16 mil and the roadwork all the to Palo Verde and 95 is aprox, 18 mil.

Agreed. No chance this comes in on budget.I’m bringing this back….. I still contend there’s NO WAY 35M covers this!
Directly over my favorite parking spot in the channel.
This doesn’t cover the payroll as I see it!

I say there is no way it comes in that low. Not a chance.
I don't have a crystal ball, but I did watch a video presentation that had about 7 bridge configurations and 5 or 6 road options and it seemed quite legit. It was a middle priced bridge with a roundabout at Mccolloch and after crossing the channel went North across state park land to Palo Verde. It seemed to be what the State Park, A-DOT and the city all were all wanting and was within the budget.Agreed. No chance this comes in on budget.
Well your spot will have a shade in 2037, when it’s completed!Directly over my favorite parking spot in the channel.
That was years and years ago
Over drinks last night, I think my wife and I decided our Havasu boating days are limited. If we did not have the kid, we might of called it after this year. Only reason we keep going, is for the kid!
What drives this?
From a guy who’s first trip was 2003 and have maintained some presence every year since, some more than others, I made the final move and will have no house, storage, boat, etc. in Havasu at the end of the month. It feels like I’m giving up my first born, but it’s just “time”. The town/lake don’t check the boxes like they once did. It’s bitter sweet, but I’m conflicted on the whole thing for sure.
The heat is the main reason.
April, May, then late Sept through October are the only months we still enjoy it.
Main reason we transitioned from the ToyHauler to an RV, is to allow us to explore the country and not be locked down. You can always come back, and you might. I'm thankful we broke our cycle of doing the same recreational activities every holiday when our kids were teens. Stopped doing the same offroading events every holiday, sold the trailer at Kathrine Landing, shifted gears for many years, now as emptynesters we are building back our program. LHC in the winter is really enjoyable. We never knew that when we were younger.
In so far as the bridge, we are all smart enough to know it is more about development, than current transportation issues. I think the money from the state would be much better served on maintenance of aging infrastructure, than building a bridge so developers can profit. You can bet you're ass if you follow the money, much of it is likely wealth transfer via crony capitalism.
I believe they just built the new bullhead bridge for 17 mil. So it can be doneI’m bringing this back….. I still contend there’s NO WAY 35M covers this!
I can’t wait, just what we need another roundabout.I don't have a crystal ball, but I did watch a video presentation that had about 7 bridge configurations and 5 or 6 road options and it seemed quite legit. The 43min. video is on YouTube, can't seem to get it here.
You know engineers really like roundabouts.I can’t wait, just what we need another roundabout.
I’d really like to see why it cost so much to put a damn traffic signal in versus a roundabout.
not enjoying it anymore? That was years and years ago

Just time to do other things in the summer.not enjoying it anymore?
Are they going to keep with the old school London bridge design or something different? I feel for the Kingsview condo people. Gonna suck to have that view wrecked. It’s gotta be a pretty tall bridge to let the Casino boat through.I don't have a crystal ball, but I did watch a video presentation that had about 7 bridge configurations and 5 or 6 road options and it seemed quite legit. The recommended bridge was # 4, it has 3 arches in its length with 2 flared supports, and looks fairly nice, but not rustic like the original bridge. I'm kind of computer illiterate and don't know how to link, but you can watch the entire public proposal on YOUTUBE, just type in Lake Havasu new bridge proposal. Are they going to keep with the old school London bridge design or something different? Thank You.
How the hell is a round-about going to work with boat trailers or do all trailers use the London Bridge only?Had a chance to look over the feasibility study this morning. Shaded spots in the channel and snowbirds stopped in round-abouts coming soon

The way I’m looking at that cluster fuck is that everyone is going to have to go through the traffic circle through realignment I don’t think there’s going to be a direct route to either bridge without going through the roundabout on the island. Fucking brain, dead traffic engineers. How the hell is a round-about going to work with boat trailers or do all trailers use the London Bridge only?

Hopefully, it’s a very large roundabout like wheeler park up on McCulloch. I think that drawing is just a generic deal. Or at least I hope.I would imagine they’re designed large enough for semi trucks. The island still needs to be serviced by large vehicles whether it’s to deliver building/construction supplies or just to service the resorts.
… but it is Lake Havasu so it’s not wise to assume in this situation lol
Yeah, that is going to change my route back home. But that has changed a bit anyway with the work being done on Swanson. We shall see what the final impact will be down the road. How the hell is a round-about going to work with boat trailers or do all trailers use the London Bridge only?
With the amount of new development going on, Havasu will need a loop freeway like Phoenix by the time this bridge is completed

Just needs one more lane
I have used a round-about with my 43' Moho and 24' stacker with no issues. It just needs to be a larger round-about. Semi's need to deliver goods on the island so it won't be an issue. How the hell is a round-about going to work with boat trailers or do all trailers use the London Bridge only?
Definitely overkill That bridge is huge and I won’t even cross it on a windy day! But it’s absolutely beautiful boating under it and seeing it at night!Haha are you talking about the Skyway Bridge?? A little overkill but I guess they could do a miniature version of it.

I'm already confused. The roundabout will definitely not confuse the snow birds...
There's big bend....
