Which vehicle are you driving?
Which vehicle are you driving?
They are impressive. I can’t tow a lot but for commuting it a perfect fit. Here is round trip after resetting Monday morning. I know it might be off a few MPG’s from hand calculating but pretty close.Well fuck me….
That’s good!
Tow with it yet?Have a little over 500 miles on the Yukon since wife didn't drive it to Havasu last weekend. Jay at Costa Mesa GMC provided amazing customer service through the whole process.
We ended up getting the truck for under MSRP because of the mix up with our original order and he threw a bottle of 1942 in the back seat for me
Windows are tinted. Just need to get the all weather mats, PPF done (fuck me this shit is expensive), black emblems and we are done.
Took it to Long Beach last Saturday. Shit ton of traffic on way there. Averaged 27.4 MPG.
Around town it is about 20 right now, because I think wife is a lead foot. Will update as it gets broken in. So far so good.

More torque at lower rpm than the 6.2…I bet it does awesomeNot yet and verdict is out if we do this summer due to boat issues. We only tow a few miles from the house to Windsor with a 255 Hallett, so it should do ok I assume. Rated for a lot more than what my boat weighs.

No way, he needs to use his 3/4 ton to be safe hahaThat thing will do fine with your boat.
That was my thoughts as well but after looking, the turn ins have 60k miles for a 2021 and they are almost as much as new. I'm thinking supply shortages kept large amounts from being built in 2021 and 2022.Looking forward to your reviews.
My 2015 Yukon (purchased June 2014), needs to be upgraded within the next few years.
My cheap ass does not want to pay new car prices, will look for lease turn-in

Not worried about towing at all.Aside from the smaller mirrors compared to my 3/4 ton, they tow just fine.

Yep. I’ve towed the trifecta all over Havasu with my wife’s 3.0 Tahoe. Launched and retrieved no problem. That thing will do fine with your boat.
Awesome. Is this the LZ0 motor? Interested to hear how it is long term with oil consumption and DEF. Sure looks like a winnerFirst run to Havasu in the Yukon. Fully loaded with kids and all of our gear. Stoked!!

Did you drive other engine packages before buying this? Does the baby max have good getup and go compared to say the 6.2? Or is it a bit of a dog?Yes it is the LZ0. Over 5k miles and had a little under a quarter left of DEF before throwing a box in. Haven't checked oil but will report back in the morning. No warning lights or anything, oil life shows 31% right now.

Obviously towing is the high point of the baby max, but I like the outright giddy up of the 6.2 when getting off a light or passing.
What range did you get out of a full tank?Only bought it for the MPG. Would have kept my other SUV if I wanted a gasser. This truck is not a slouch at all. It has pep and if the 10 speed downshifted up Chiraco, I sure as heck didn't feel it. Got this MPG rolling 85 pretty much the whole way. Solid package and we are super happy with it.

Maybe I'm confused, are you saying you got a '23 Yukon with the LZO ?? Can't even get a '24 Yukon with anything but the older gen LM2.Yes it is the LZ0. Not worth waiting for GMC to update to the LZ0 like they have in the trucks ?If anyone is on the fence about the diesel Yukons get one. You won’t be disappointed.
Drive great, 30 mpg to the river, hauls and launched the boat with ease.
Nah I don’t agree with that. I think the LZ0 brings refinement and fixes you shouldn’t overlook. Not worth waiting for GMC to update to the LZ0 like they have in the trucks ?
such as what?Nah I don’t agree with that. I think the LZ0 brings refinement and fixes you shouldn’t overlook.
Irrespective of any Forum reported issues, here's a good mechanical comparison of the differences.Contemplating an AT4 1500 with the 3.0. Just curious on
such as what?
2024 have lm2 as well. I guess it depends on how long they take to roll out the lz0 in the Yukon. Not worth waiting for GMC to update to the LZ0 like they have in the trucks ?
Maybe the upper trims get the LZ0? They love giving the upgrades to the top trims only.2024 have lm2 as well. I guess it depends on how long they take to roll out the lz0 in the Yukon.
A fellow RDP member's father is trying to order a '24 from Dutton, but is in a holding pattern since he can't get the LZO in the yukon yet.2024 have lm2 as well. I guess it depends on how long they take to roll out the lz0 in the Yukon.
Not yet, buddy is trying to get a fully loaded up top of the line Yukon Denali, nope, not yet anyway.Maybe the upper trims get the LZ0? They love giving the upgrades to the top trims only.
Warm up is important but pre-shutdown idling is most important. It’s the biggest problem with consumer turbo engines. Wives don’t want to run down to the store and sit and idle in the parking lot for 30 to 60 seconds to let the turbo spin down. A lot of husbands wont do it either.About to take delivery of a 2023 Yukon with the baby Duramax and wondering what you guys are doing for a warm up routine, routine maintenance, etc. This is obviously going to be a MOMUV so it will be used a lot for low mileage school drop off and grocery runs.
I know that modern diesels (at least the heavy duty ones) don't like the low mileage runs, so wondering if that is the case for these small ones. We need 8-10 years out of this truck and 80k-100k miles, so want to stay on top of everything.
With all the computer shit on these things, why wouldn’t they program it to just run for 60 seconds after you turn the key off?Warm up is important but pre-shutdown idling is most important. I do it, especially after long drives. Wife knows she should but if she is actually doing it, that's the question..Warm up is important but pre-shutdown idling is most important.
