I'm gonna volunteer to take the 17 days off that the games are going on and get the fuk out of town
I worked during that last time. We were the data processing site for all the results so had to be in long beach. Traffic was fantastic since it seemed they all took the days off.

We will see a repeat of China coming to San Fran scenario.
Magically all the homeless are gone and the streets don’t have shit floating down the gutter.
I hope they send em all up to Gavin’s house✊

I just read an article that they are doing a lot of stuff at Lake Balboa park for it. Which is shitty. I was hoping I was going to be able to avoid that drama by staying away from downtown.

I’ve heard they plan on putting in a pool in the middle of SoFi stadium for all the aquatics stuff.

Let’s see how many billions LA spends on the Olympics they could have spent on fixing problems.

I was told that the teamsters have the transportation contract for the athletes and team support staff for the 2028 Olympics

SoFi has the 26 World Cup. The 27 Super Bowl and the 28 Olympic swimming events. Hopefully LA turns a huge profit like they did in 1984. 👍 They won’t have to spend billions since all the venues are already built from 32 and 84.

It's a 'car less' Olympics. Really. Google it. No parking lots at venues, all public transportation. Like 2000 added busses
Lol.

LOL... LA is going to be a shit show. I read an article stating it's a "car free" Olympics, meaning that leadership is strongly suggesting using all public transit 🤣
Yes Karen Bass (I hope she’s not mayor by then) said they are borrowing public transit busses from all over the state so they can have no one drive a car to any Olympic venue.

I sure hope they are all electric buses by then, wouldn’t want to look like we aren’t holding up our green initiatives.

CA needs to build a new softball stadium and canoe course so they don't have to send that crowd here...

Personally I can't wait for the Olympics and always enjoy athletes competing at the highest levels. I went to the 84 game's and it was awesome. Opening ceremonies and Track and field at the coliseum was what I thought was a once in a lifetime experience, now I can take my kids.

I worked for Motorola in 1984, we put in and maintained 3 separate SMR’S. (Backbone trunk repeater systems). I and 2 others worked as a tech, babysitting them for the 2 weeks of the games. 24/7. The months leading up to opening ceremonies where fun, going into secure areas, no one else could go. Lots of guys with auto weapons hidden in places you never knew.

The renderings of marine stadium look pretty cool, even though it will be the end to my little spot to go to. I guess if you're a row guy like many are you think it's great.

Jihadi knows it's all good. That's what I like about him, he doesn't take much of anything serious. 👍

Truth be told, I'd enjoy watching world class athletes in person also, but I'll need to see the opening ceremonies first. 😝
Regor at the opening opening ceremony hoping he would finally be able to watch the games

I would consider it. My daughter is a ball kid at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells and gets us free passes but won't be doing it forever so wife might have to volunteer since we're both now hooked on tennis. Talked to a couple retired people working the event and it turns out that they vacation/volunteer (vacayteer? voluncation?) so they can chill in the Desert and watch the tourney for free. Sounds like a pretty good gig. Wife has volunteered at Coachella and has gotten free wristbands, too bad the lineup sucks these days...

Seems like a lifetime away when you think that it will 4 years until we can watch competitive badminton again.

Or watch judges change the score after the other side complains.
