You need to call and be the squeaky wheel and tell them get your shit done. It’s been what 6 months?
Dropped it off in November. Dropped off the new heads and drivetrain early/mid February. Been calling about once a week for 2-3 weeks and each time I just get told about another week

Similar situation here but, it’s going according to plan.

Mine (full rebuilds) is all but done. Waiting on the new Mercury props which have shipped. I was told the work would take roughly 4 months up front and that’s about what it has taken. I’m in the same shape as you in that I’ll have no break in time before SCFW. Teague will be running it up at the local lake before I take possession however, I’ll have to limit revs and modulate at the event and likely at DS. I have an early May appointment at Barrett to change out the oil and filters. Both the motors and drives will be serviced since the lower gear sets and shafts were replaced. Once that’s done, I’m hoping I’ll be good for the year.

That said, I am forever the optimist..

Exact same dates and answer a friend of mine is getting from them.

I know they do solid work and it will be done right, but definitely frustrating to not really get a straight answer especially with a trip planned for right around the corner.

Agreed. Friend bought another boat but is waiting to list the one there. Hopefully you both will get them soon.

Not to air it on here. But it’s time (probably way passed time) as said to be that squeaky wheel. As I’ve told you. Time to be that guy. Almost to asshole mode. Just sayin.

In my opinion whoever screams the loudest learning up to supercat and ds is gonna get their shit worked on.

Seems to me that there is more of a captive audience in Havasu. Certainly there are a few great shops but, there are a lot of high performance boats in town as well. As a result, the shops all have a lot of work and, by necessity, schedule way out in advance (at least during the season) and also have timing set backs like a lot of shops do from time to time. As a further result, in general, I’d say prices are a bit higher as well.

The Bimini thread is a good example. I was quoted $5,000 for a high speed one (in town) with a 4 month lead time. I ended up paying over $2,000 less for what I believe to be an equivalent one in So. Cal. in a much quicker fashion.

Over the years I’ve had our boats at Teague, GT Performance and at what was then known as Paul Phaff. In well over 95% of the cases, my drop off and finish dates were either met or exceeded. Further, the cost estimates were typically spot on and the work was excellent.

I guess the point I’m making is sometimes it’s worth dragging your boat a few hundred miles to get what makes sense for you on any given work or circumstance, that requires a timeline that has to be met. Essentially it’s worth exploring a few options before pulling the trigger on significant work.

As I noted earlier in this thread, I had full rebuilds done at Teague along with a full page of miscellaneous other stuff including a new driver’s side simrad, bilge pumps, blower motors, props and other maintenance or replacement items. I dropped off the boat on the appointed day and I’m getting it back within the time frame and costs quoted.

I went by this morning to take a look and they are almost there. Assuming that there are no issues (and I’ll go out on a limb and say there won’t be since Teague is on their game), I’ll definitely continue to be a satisfied customer.

Anyway, sorry to hear about your trouble. I’ve been there and I know it sucks.
